Any fellow bloggers use Photobucket to host their pictures? Anyone else having troubles with the vertical ones being loaded horizontally? You know when I made my "things I'd rather be doing" post...this stupid new Photobucket/my new OS issue is part of it too. How could I have forgotten?! Ugh!

Anyway, now that I've got all that annoying business taken care of. Let's go back to last week. I blogged through last Monday but Tuesday was fun. We met up with one of my oldest friends and her two girls at a park. Tonya and I go back, like, a quarter of a century! That's a long time. And now here we are with my three kids and her third on the way. We've sure grown up since I met her in Sunday School just after first grade!

I was really bad with the pictures that morning. Easton got hurt right when we got there and Dalton had to poo but the "bathroom" there was disgusting and he wanted/needed to try a few times but it was just too gross. Poor guy. Plus it had been about 7 months since I'd seen them anyway and it's nice to just catch up and not worry about pictures. So I have a few of my boys:

I'm sure parents give me the evil eye for the "bad example" I let my son set for others. :)

I got a few pictures of Autumn:

Including this one with Kaylee who is 3 months younger but they're at pretty much the same stage with the crawling/crusing/thinking about walking:
Photobucket

I love this little furrowed brow:
Photobucket

I don't have a single picture of 19 month old Emma and the only the picture I got of Ton is of her backside. So I'll be nice and won't post it. :)

I have a few other random pictures from the week but don't necessarily remember what day each was from. I think this was Wednesday. Autumn just love playing with her bubbas:

And I think this was when I had to wake her up on Thursday so we could take the boys to Gramoo and Lauren for their overnight visit:
Photobucket

So I don't have any more pictures because the boys went to stay at Gramoo's and had a lovely time. Jason, Autumn, and I went out for BBQ for dinner and then out for breakfast again the next morning (Friday). Jason then took Blitz to the vet and worked from home after that while I headed down to swim with my mom and the boys and bring them back home.

Saturday was their soccer games as usual. We drove separately because the boys' games were not back to back this time and I didn't want Autumn to have to hang out the whole entire time. Plus, Jason and Easton had a secret birthday mission to run after his game.

That was also the day Autumn turned 11 months so she had her little photo session with Autumn Bear. Here is another from that day:

And then Mr. E wanted to pose as well:

Saturday night was family movie night where we watched "Happy Feet" from a few years ago and ate pizza on a giant picnic blanket on the living room floor. We had a Family Movie Night the week before as well with Madagascar as our feature film. I always miss the endings because I have to put Autumn to bed. Oh well.

Sunday morning was my birthday! We went to the early service at church and then drove down for our favorite (and traditional!) brunch with my mom and now my sisters and their significant others. So yummy. Jason had the boys eating shrimp and crab (which I cannot stand seafood or the thought of seafood). So as J cracked open the exoskeleton and started showing the tendon inside the crab's leg I literally lost my appetite. Good thing it was, like, my 4th plate and 2nd omelette. :)

So we moved outside for some pictures as is our tradition as well but before we got there, Russell likes to tease the boys that he's taking them to work with him:
Photobucket
The boys think this is the funniest game ever.

He hasn't tried to take Autumn yet. She's safe with Daddy:

Then we were outside:

Jess and Janna:

I took some other cute ones of Jessica and her little belly which we are all calling "Kevin" because Janna had a dream that so many people wanted to hold the baby after it was born that by the time it got to Jessica and Janna it was a toddler who told them he wanted his name to be Kevin. Hee hee! For the record, they're keeping their name choices a secret (and they don't know the gender) but I don't believe Kevin is on their list. Anyway, here's Jess and Kevvy:

Many of you likely remember our photos from there last year when I was pregnant with "Wabie". I made sure to pose in the same spot again this year with Autumn. Jess wanted me to hold her upsidedown and scrunched up all fetal-like but this'll have to do:

We parted ways with my family after that and headed home. I chilled on the couch with my computer and camera while the boys did some quiet time. It wasn't long before Jason informed me that "Surprise!" all my family was coming back for a game night. Hooray! I had no idea. I didn't even have anything I could point to in hindsight that might've given it away. Way to go, everyone! It was fun and games and food. Jason ran out for Quiznos and a cake:

We got to do lots of fun gaming and any team that Moosie was on won! It was a lovely birthday filled with fun and surprises (which everyone should know I love).

Moving on to Monday, the kids and I had to do a big Walmart trip and we had swimming lessons in the afternoon. As I've mentioned, Easton doesn't always hold on to the side of the pool while waiting his turn but his teacher doesn't mind because "he's a pretty good swimmer". So imagine my surprise when I'm sitting there yesterday and a lifeguard goes running by me to "rescue" my son. Only because she's running by the pool (don't they always tell you NOT to?) she slips, her flip flop broke and she fell in! And Easton was just floating around like he always does. He wasn't in need of saving. Poor Easton thought he was in so much trouble but his teacher was very very sweet about it and kept reassuring him (and me) that it wasn't a big deal at all and not to worry about it. After class he let us know again that it was fine and that he was going to have a little chat with Ms. Lifeguard because, well, she shouldn't have been running and all panicky. And also, if anyone ever watches Easton, that's just how he is and what he does. Tyler (the teacher) seemed to think the lifeguard had been sitting there zoning out and when she realized she'd better be paying attention and guarding lives and all she saw a kid underwater, probably didn't know how long he'd been there, and freaked out. He also told us, "You weren't here but at the 3:30 class a mom jumped in fully-clothed, cell-phone in pocket to 'save' someone else's kid." If that lifeguard was on duty for that class too I can see why she might've been feeling a little jumpy. Quite the scene, though. Quite. The. Scene.

Then we came home and had dinner and Autumn looked adorable in some orange hand me downs:
Photobucket

This morning we did doughnuts AT the doughnut store followed by some errand-running at the nearby Target and Dollar Tree.

As I put away some laundry, the kids entertained themselves on the "Millenium Falcon":
Photobucket

Dalton was Han Solo piloting the elliptical and Easton was Chewy and Autumn is, of course, Princess Leia:
Photobucket

And I was using clothespins in Autumn's room so Dalton busied himself with those:

One last shot from today of Little Miss Miss in a cute little hand-me-down. Izzy's, I think:

And then I've seen this video at least 8 times since it happened and it still gives me a chuckle:

I'll leave you with that. Have a good Tuesday!

I'd Rather Be Sewing...

I need a 'bumper sticker' for my blog that says that. Or more of a "I'd Rather Be Crafting..." sticker I guess. But whoa, does this make 3 days in a row? I believe it does.

Sewing and craftiness is a big part of me not blogging so much these days. Partly because I'm either creating something (copying someone else's creation, I mean) or looking for things to copy... And a lot of it is that we're busy with a fun, full summer. And some is that I just am not feeling the blog stuff as much as before.

Anyhoo...

I have a few more of my latest creations to share.

One night before church I decided I needed to make a ladybug clippie to match Autumn's outfit for the next day. And while I was making a bug, I whipped up a bee too. I also made one of each for a friend. Friend, pretend like you haven't seen these yet and act surprised when they arrive in the mail:
Photobucket
I know you're all really appreciating how I clipped them to a leaf to show off my little insects. :)

Another evening a couple weeks ago I decided to sew a little gathered skirt to a onesie. I bought the onesie at the Just Between Friends sale on half-price day. I had planned on sewing ruffles to the butt. But when would she really wear that? So I then decided to sew a little skirt to the onesie instead. And I took it a step further and added little ruffles to the sleeves:
Photobucket

I wish the skirt was more gathery but I had to cut off 6 inches or so of width from my fat quarter to make the sleeve ruffles. So next time, I won't use a fat quarter...I'll buy actual yardage. I left the little onesie part underneath to keep her diaper covered:
Photobucket

The next day (while E was at VBS) I decided to make a little bow to match:
Photobucket

How's she look?
Photobucket

Later that day I also whipped up this bandana dress in no time:
Photobucket

But it's not for now...maybe a summer or two away to wear it as a dress. When she's even bigger she could maybe even wear it as a top. You know, if pillowcase-style dresses/tops are still stylish. However, this is how it looks on her now...
Photobucket
When I made it, I fully intended on it being for a year (or two) from now. I just wanted to put it on her. Just for fun.

Oh and I mentioned making a pair of shorts for A the other day from an old halter top? Here's the top:
Photobucket

I used a couple of pairs of shorts that she already wears as my example templates and then I lined them up with the side and bottom seams to really decrease the amount of sewing I'd have to do:
Photobucket

Here's another picture of her in them.
Photobucket

I think I sewed the inseam a little too far "in" because the rise is lower than I would've liked. But oh well. Because I used existing seams, they took all of like, 10 minutes to make that morning.

And there you have it...some of my latest copycat creations. Actually, I'll have you know, the sleeve ruffles on the onesie dress were my own doing. I'm pretty proud of those.

Ha!

Kids Say the Darndest Things

Time for another.

I feel like I spend much of my days laughing and I love it. Hopefully some of these will bring a smile to those that read them.

Dalton calls our little electronic keyboard a "compuno"...part computer, part piano. Genius, no?

And speaking of the compuno, Easton likes to change up the instrument settings he plays his songs on. Sometimes he knows the sound "I'm gonna play it on "trumpet" but another time he announced, "Now I'm gonna play it on 'toot'." (It was "bass".)

Easton was talking about George Washington and Abraham Lincoln. We asked him if he remembered the name of our current president. He didn't (but he used to) so we prompted, "President O...." and he guessed, "P?"

I left a package of Autumn's Baby Mum Mums on the table after a meal. When we sat down to the next meal I noticed the package was empty thanks to Dalton. Feigning shock I jokingly admonished him, "That's stealing" and he responded, "It's yummy."

But he really does have a conscience. We got out of the car at the grocery store the other day and I spotted a dime on the ground. I said, "Look Dalton! Get it!" and he said, "No, that's somebody's." Sweet boy. I said, "You're right, Dalton. It used to be someone's and they lost it. Do you want to pick it up?" and he said, "Yeah...so no one can steal it!" and we agreed we'd take it to church on Sunday. God will know what to do with it.

When we were camping, little Diddles kept calling our cabin "Cavin's house". :) We do not know why. Even looking at the pictures again yesterday he said, "There we are at Cavin's house."

Easton was doing push ups at the pool when we were swimming with my mom and sisters the other day. Lauren called him a Stud Muffin and E asked, "Why did you call me that? Because I had muffins for breakfast?"

I was sitting at the computer the other day when the boys were playing in their room. I heard one of them go tearing across the hall to the bathroom in a big hurry. Usually I can tell their footsteps apart but I couldn't so I called up, "Who's going potty?" and Dalton answered, "Me!" Because of the big rush to get there I had to ask, "Are you wet?" and he called back, "No, I'm Dalton!" Ha ha ha!

Oh, that boy. He's totally our comedian. And he knows it too.

But while I'm on the subject of that little guy...I don't think I ever posted his 3 year portraits. We had them done on his 3rd birthday, but I was slow in ever sending them to family and then I just never posted them (at least I'm pretty sure I didn't). Anyhoo...even though he's nearly 3.5, here's those pictures to wrap this up:
