Let's see...given Easton's fascination with all things spacey right now, we gave him some glow in the dark stars and planets and last Wednesday Jason helped the boys apply them all over their ceiling:
They've been "blasting off" every night at bedtime and enjoy their starry sky as they fall asleep.
A random daytime bath because we were too busy feeding Autumn and putting stars on the ceiling the night before:
How cute is TumTums in this bright number?
Again, I think this one is from Molly and Izzy but I'm pretty sure I remember it still having tags on it when we got it.
Miss A had no clean Miracle Blankets so I tried a nap without a swaddle:
She fell asleep okay but didn't stay asleep long. Oh well.
After E's bath he put on a new shirt as well. KISS was J's first real rock and roll album as a young'un. Little Jason was quite the KISS fan. I like E's freshly washed "hamburger hair" to boot:
Here's how I found Autumn after we got home from Dr. Groovy's on Friday:
And later that afternoon, Dalton fell asleep in the car and couldn't be woken up for nuthin':
So his brother and sister took advantage and played with some of his new stuff while he was asleep:
She's so purty:
And he's so silly, bringing in his snack:
Snuggle bug...I loved how she was clutching her Daddy's shirt so tightly:
Saturday night I made homemade cinnamon rolls from Jessica's recipe.
I had to run out in the midst of everything to get some eggs but otherwise it was great. Not too much work (I'm a lazy cook) because I did them in the bread machine. In the morning before church I baked them and made the frosting. Yum yum! I finally finshed off the last of them this morning for breakfast. They were so very good. Rivaled the mall's Cinnabon or Cinnamonster or whatever they're calling those these days. I will definitely be making them again! I wonder how the dough would freeze? Anyone?
Anyway, I think I'm now all caught up through this last week and weekend. Now sometime I'll just have to tackle this week. Another time, y'all! :)

More Random Catching Up
Solidified
As you might remember, Autumn turned 6 months a week ago:
And for our family, 6 months means you start on solid foods. We like to wait till the end of the suggested 4-6 month range for a variety of reasons and I'll just leave it at that. :)
But once Jason got home from work we sat her down for her first tastes of rice cereal. Yummmmmm.
The boys were super excited about this milestone. I just love how in tune with her they are (more on this later). But Easton was begging to help feed her some bites...I really like how my mouth is doing what I want her to do.
She did so-so. Better if she had a spoon of her own because she kept grabbing at the one I had:
She did worse the next night but then did great for Jason an night or two after that actually wanting and going in for more bites:
Easton also gave her her very first sips of water a few nights ago as well:
Easton is so great with such things. He really is. And he was so proud to be the first one to give her a taste of water in her whole life.
On our way home from Chick-fil-a on Tuesday night Autumn got her first case of the giggles. The boys got free balloons from Family Night at the restaurant and they were bonking them together on the drive home which Autumn found hilarious. I thought my heart was about to burst from the sounds of all 3 of them laughing like they were. I'd been waiting for Miss A to dissolve into giggles like that finally and she did. And Easton knew too, "This is the first time she's laughed a lot of times!" and later said, "She's so happy she doesn't even need her pacifier!" (Because she usually does at night in the car when she's sleepy).
That's kinda what I meant about him being so in tune with her. Even after 6 months, Autumn is still very interesting to her brothers. They haven't gotten sick of her yet! :)
K'Necting
So, this would be after D's big day.
He scored some new Kid K'Nex from G-ma and July and while Easton was at school Wednesday morning and Autumn was trying her hand (literally) at sleeping with a limb unswaddled...
...Dalton and I got to work:
Love his little face here:
He told me to take a picture after each thing we made. So I did:
Then my inner homeschooler came out and I decided to work with him on a few things. He's not great with a few colors still (at 3!!!). Black and white and brown trip him up. And, when counting, he skips 6. Plus just because he can say the numbers, I'm not sure he can actually apply it when counting objects.
So first I had him sort...he's saying "Ta Da!"
And then he used this here baton rouge to count the items in his little groups.
Dalton is simply not as interested in "learning" such things as E was/is and so I don't work with him probably as much as I should. He's no dummy and I know he'll learn all that stuff eventually so I kind of follow his lead and as a result he still doesn't always get the difference between black and white or the number between 5 and 7. Oh well.
He is only 3 after all.
Random Catch-Up
Just a few things to catch up on some events and pictures before Dalton's birthday.
Let's see...I don't think I ever mentioned that I went to my very first Bunco party the night before Dalton's Chuck E Cheese party. It was with some of the gals from church who I only knew 3-4 of ahead of time. But it was way fun, especially because I won for "Most Buncos"! I brought Autumn with me and she must've been my little good luck charm.
Here's some pictures from after Dalton's party that Sunday. The boys being all cute playing with D's new Toy Story Lego Buzz and Woody:
Autumn's pig tails:
Easton putting together Dalton's Lego RC from Toy Story:
When asking Dalton where he was going to want to go for his birthday dinner I named a bunch of restaurants. I personally love IHOP so I mentioned that and he jumped on it: "IPOP! I want IPOP!" Jason is anti-IPOP so I told D I'd take him on Monday before his birthday. Love me some IHOP. I was hoping to go while E was at school but Autumn was too snoozy so we went after we picked Easton up. I think that was my first time taking all three kids to a sit-down place by myself. We go places all the time with me and the three of them but something about a sit-down restaurant made it seem more impressive to myself. :)
We came home and looked at the lovely artwork waiting for me in E's folder:
Apparently the blue one is Easton and the green one is Dalton and the black one is Blitz. I like how my boys are holding hands. It seems to me that the paint dripped on E's blue guy but he says that he's on a pogo stick. :)
They're good brothers...playing with clip on flashlights on their way into the dark basement for some flashlight fun:
Autumn is apparently a big fan of Dalton's giant Chuck E Cheese balloon:
And she makes a darn cute pirate:
One more thing of note...Easton's assistant teacher (Mrs. L) is in school for early childhood education. She needed to observe some young'uns and asked if she could observe Autumn and it turned out Dalton was the right age for the other subject she needed so on Valentine's Day she came over. The second she walked in she said, "Yours house is the smaller version of our house." Polite, no? :) Nah, it didn't bug me I just thought it was funny. Anyway, she observed D and A for fine and gross motor skills. She let me know that she got a perfect score on her paper and said it must've been my perfect subjects. I'm glad Dalton got to spend that time with her because he'll be in class with her next year. We see her out and about quite a bit (Wal-Mart, Chili's, the grocery store, the circus...) so Lil D will be nice and familiar with her in the fall.

Dalton's ACTUAL Birthday
So, I blogged about his party in a timely enough manner. His actual birthday was a week ago today, though, so I'm behind and need to catch my blog up on that.
Let's go ahead and do that, shall we?
The night before his birthday (Monday night) we put Dalton and Autumn to bed and then Easton stayed up a little later with us to help decorate the house with green stuff to surprise Dalton:
Helping me to wrap the present from him to Dalton (in green, of course):
We piled a bunch of balloons on to the floor of the boys' bedroom to surprise Dalton when he woke up.
It was so cute, that morning when I went in to get them, Dalton was up in the top bunk with Easton hanging out and waiting till 7:00 when it's "safe" to come out. They usually call for me but that morning they wanted to go down and get their milk and juice out of the fridge themselves.
A surprise (from Easton) was waiting on D's milk:
Easton was soooooooo excited for Dalton's big day. Largely because he knew about Dalton's big gift (so did Dalton, for that matter) and he was so excited to get to share it.
Dalton asked to be carried downstairs by his toes:
Jason took the day off to celebrate with our big guy. He usually does that for birthdays.
And this was waiting for Diddles:
I ran to get our usual Tuesday doughnuts (which is what Dalton wanted for his birthday breakfast anyway).
The moment I got home was the exact moment Dalton turned 3: at 7:57 a.m. He just so happened to be finishing up in the bathroom but struck this pose for J who was comemmorating the moment:
We had our picnic breakfast and stuck a candle in D's doughnut for him. And sang:
Then he got to open presents:

Green AND Chuck E. Cheese? How perfect for Dalton!

His big gift (which Easton was planning on asking for next Christmas):

At that point, Autumn was still asleep and Dalton was due for his 10 a.m. portrait sitting at Target. Jason took him so I'd be around for Autumn to eat when she finally decided to wake up.
Once Jason and Dalton got back home, we headed up to Little Monkey Business for some fun. Except that Easton didn't want to go. He wanted to stay home and play with Dalton's new castle. But we made him go:

And they had some so-so fun:

We finally let them be done playing to come home and play more castle. Punks. :) Nah, not really. They had fun while we were there. We came home, played castle and then Dalton chose Chick-fil-a for dinner. Except he doesn't really like Chick-fil-a for the food. Just the playing. It happened to be Family Night so we got two free kids meals out of it. And had to field off the dude in the cow costume. Again, the kids had fun and then we went to Cold Stone for dessert.
It was a good day to turn 3.
