We were up and rearing to go for our first day at Disney.
We stopped for a quick breakfast at what Easton dubbed "Mickey" Donalds because it was the McD's across the street from Disneyland. Clever, no?
Autumn fell asleep on our walk there.
But the boys were excited. We were there even before the gates opened so we killed a little time on this bench and applied our sunscreen:
We're in!
But they still won't let you past Main Street. However, we were ready to take off quickly for our first ride...one that tends to get long lines very quickly as the day goes on: Peter Pan!
How cute is Miss Miss in her $2 Just Between Friends find? With the bow I'd already made that coincidentally already matched?
Checking out more of Fantasyland:
Dumbo! (The ride...not the guy.)
We spent some more time in Fantasyland. We did the Rider Swap thing (because of Autumn) so that we could ride Matterhorn with each boy. Jason got to go with Easton and he loved it just as much as last year. Dalton got to go for the first time this year and spent the beginning of the ride with his hands over his ears (a loud tunnel) and the rest of the ride with his hands over his eyes. It was so cute. At the end I asked if he liked it and he said, "Yeah!!" Then I asked if he wanted to go again. That was a no. :)
We stayed in Fantasyland until Mickey's Toontown opened up (it's an hour later than the rest of the park). The boys were so excited to check out Chip and Dale's Treehouse. They're huge C & D fans.
Again we rider swapped to take each boy on Gadget's Go Coaster. Dalton loved that one and wanted to do it again. Easton too. But we didn't. We checked out the fountain instead. How cool is E in mid-air here?
We explored Mickey's house and even got in the long line to meet him:
Then we gave up and left. We did meet Donald by chance, though:
We had to sort of split up by then. J and E had Splash Mountain FastPasses. Poor Dalton is still not tall enough (have to be 40"). So we headed over to what he most wanted to do on the trip: The Enchanted Tiki Room. And we stopped and got a Dole Whip while we waited for the show to start:
Then it appears I put the big camera away for a long time. I did pull out my camera phone when it was time for me and E to ride Splash Mountain:
How do you like my face? Hee hee! (And I hope everyone knows that I'm the one in the back...not the one in the mullet in the front of the picture.)
Eventually we made it over to Tomorrowland which is the area Easton (and probably Dalton) had been most excited to get back to: Buzz Blasters, Space Mountain, Star Tours... what's not to like? We also surprised him with a trip to the Jedi Training Academy show. In a surprising turn of events, Easton was nervous and had to sit on his dad's lap:
Whereas Dalton, who is normally terrified of costumed people, was waving his hand to participate!
Unfortunately he didn't get chosen. :( We think he was too young. But it was cool to see the Storm Troopers and the Darths (Maul and Vader):
Autumn mostly hung out under the Hooter Hider for some milkies. And to make faces at her biggest bubba:
We each took a spin with Easton on Space Mountain:
(Camera phone again.)
Jason also took E on Star Tours. Meanwhile the other two kids and I would ride Buzz again or take a spin on the Astro Orbiters:
(We met a mom yelling at her 3 year old--so he was getting the middle name too-- but it was Matthew Easton.)
It appears we didn't take another picture after that but I know we stayed until the second the park closed because we got in the line for Haunted Mansion at about six till 8:00. That's when the park closes but they have to let everyone who was in line before that go on the rides. Nice!
We headed to our home away from home and getting the boys to sleep was MUCH easier than the night before. Even Miss Autumn did great the entire time we were away. What a blessing!

Sooo much fun! I am impressed that E sat in his own seat on Splash Mountain and not in the very back next to you. Did he like Space Mountain, because he looks terrified!
To answer your comments, yep...he sat in his own Splash Mountain seat last year too. But a couple of times this visit he was in the way back with one of us too. Just depended on where the Cast Members told us to go.
And yes, he loves Space Mountain. He loved it last year and was so excited to get back this year. He rode it 3 times and was begging for more. That picture made me laugh, because he does look so scared. In the ride I kept putting my hand on his knee to make sure he hadn't flown out in the dark and he kept pushing me away. He's a total thrillseeker/daredevil so I'm not sure what that pic was about. They take it on one of the bigger hills so it's probably how his face looks when his stomach is still up in his throat LOL
WOW! You guys did way more on day 2 than we did on our entire trip!
Cameron loved splash mountain too but we never got a chance to go on space mountain. LOVE the pic of you and E on that one, lol.
