Well, Easton got his very last Synagis shot today. That was his RSV shot and now he's all done forever. Yay! We're glad we were able to get the shots covered by insurance but it's still hard watching them jab a needle into your angel baby's thigh month after month. He's gotten one a month since November. Plus last winter too.
Once again he was scared of just being there. As soon as he saw Tammy (the nurse) he started crying. We weighed him and he's still just 18 1/2 pounds (darn!). Then the doctor came in to wash her hands and left, I guess just so she could say she "saw" him. Tammy followed with the shot. It's one of the more painful shots as it is a lot of liquid PLUS it goes directly into E's muscle whereas many other shots are just under the skin in the fatty tissue. Ouch. Last time he got shots he woke up the next day with a limp. Poor guy. Oh well, now we're done with shots till kindergarten! Unless, of course, we opt for flu shots. Who knows at this point? Although his last flu shot didn't even make him cry! He's one tough little dude.
After the appointment we went to dine with Jason as we usually do following doctor visits. We had originally talked about picnicking but Jason had a flat tire he needed fixed so we followed him over to the fix-it place and had BBQ at a restaurant nearby. It was delish and we still got to eat outside in the shade so it all worked out just fine. Easton is now having a nap and I'm doing my own thing!
