That's what Auld Lang Syne means...I'm pretty sure.
Anyway, should old acquaintance be forgot, and never brought to mind?
Um, that song is kinda confusing to me.
But, anyhoo...this post is not all philosophical or anything...just a last post of 2007. And it's nothing exciting. Just 2 of today's meals.
Breakfast:
I will have you know that Easton ate three Krispy Kremes again this morning in addition to a drinkable yogurt...Oh, and Grammy...he's not loving the Keifer. He tells me, "It's too cold" but I think maybe it's too thick? Or maybe he's not so used to the fancy pomegranate flavor?
Anyway, on the way to the drive-through Easton told me, "I'm going to cry at the lady." And indeed, as I rolled down my window he opened his mouth simply to whine. He was fine before. Just made the decision to whine and went with it. Annoying, but foolish too.
Then, on the way home (he had recovered) he said, "Are we going to eat the doughnuts on the picnic blanket?" and I said, "Yes" as that is how we always do doughnuts lately. Then he said, "Should we watch Wiggles?" and I said, "Okay" because during doughnuts--and only during doughnuts now--is when we watch The Wiggles. Then he said, "That might be really great." Yes, it might. And after he ate 3 doughnuts I thought it really had been great. Woo hoo for fattening foods!
I think he might be growing: his jammies seemed shorter today. Or maybe them riding up his calves just bothered him more than normal:
We went to Party America after D's first nap. We picked out some party favors. As we were checking out Easton suddenly exclaimed, "I need some friends for me party!" Then I went over the list of the invitees. He felt better. He said, "Oh!" after each name. I got more RSVPs by the way.
Next we came home for lunch...our first meal with just me and two boys at the table vs. table and high chair. I sat closer to Dalton...just in case. My view:
Easton is not wanting his picture taken at the moment.
I like this one because Dalton seems like he's clapping his hands over his mouth like he's all aghast or something:
After that it was time for quiet time. And then Target. Then dinner, baths, and bed. Jason is busy fixing the shower. What a boring end to the year!

Old Long Since
How Do I Have Time...
...for all these new posts, you ask?
Jason is re-grouting our shower. He's a DIY kinda guy.
Happy New Year!
I'm a Big Kid Now!
Dalton got a booster seat for Christmas! It matches Easton's. Our hand-me-down highchair was so big and bulky...all in the way...really hard to clean. I was anxious to move D into something easier to clean. Easton was over a year old before he got this seat but oh well.
This seat comes with a tray too...we intended on using it but put him directly at the table just to see...
However, he is able to push himself backwards so he needs to have the tray instead:
Soooooooooo big!
Hooray! We all like having him at the table.
And check out this silly picture I got:
I think we made the right move by letting him "graduate":
Mommy's Little Helper
Dalton insisted on giving me a hand with the coupons.
It's actually his fault we're on the floor as he grabbed them out of my coupon box and tossed them about forcing me to sit down and weed out all the expired ones.
Think I'll just have to forgive him. :)
Hey Diddle Diddle
Time for a few more cute Dalton pics...
"To the Rescue!!!"
Bear-walking since he's not wearing pants:
Goof.
I just love my Diddlebug.

Give Unto Others...
...or rather...here's what we gave unto others. A few family members received some or all of these pictures. They're by Portrait Innovations and I'm just never thrilled with what we get there. We tend to prefer Target's Portrait Studio. Anyhoo... I put off getting their pictures done till the last minute-ish and Portrait Innovations prints their stuff for you the very same day. So my procrastinating left me with little choice.
Here's what we got:
I'll admit there were better pictures of Dalton...but then the background would've been different from Easton's. And we didn't really want the Christmasy background they had since these will be (hopefully) displayed in relatives' homes for a few months at least.
But, wanted to share these here for those of you that didn't get to see them in your Christmas gifts.
What's Your Design Style? A Quiz
My favorite cousin-in-law sent me this HGTV link--thanks, Britty! It's a fun little quiz.
My style is "classy". (I'd have to agree): I'm a classic. Nothing trendy or faddish for me. I'm drawn to timeless shapes and colors that never go out of fashion (think neutrals and rich accent colors, like jade or gold). I like my patterns crisp, and my buildings traditional. I enjoy well-crafted furniture that will look as gorgous 100 years from now as it does today.
Sounds about right.
I'd love to hear what all my friends are...

Come To My Party!
Oh how I wish so many of you lived closer...we'd love for Adam and Wrenny and Katie and Julia and Amelia and Owen and Aeryn and Kate and Livie and all our online pals (I hope I'm not forgetting anyone that I know reads my blog) to be able to come to Easton's party. If any of our online buds lived within even 50...100 miles, I'd send you one of these:
I made it to look like this DVD cover:

Had to throw Tato Head on their though as he's such a fave 'round here.
So far we have just one "official" RSVP. We invited 6 other kids--only one girl!--plus their families. We'll see what happens. I did a pre-invite survey of our potential party pals to see what day worked best for the majority so hopefully we'll get at least a few more party go-ers. Easton is sooooo excited for his Toy Story party at Chuck E. Cheese. He talks about it all the time and tells us, "It's me birthday very soon."
In the line at Wal-Mart yesterday another kid (about 6 or 7 years old)
asked him, "How old are you?" To which he answered the standard, "Two and half" and then surprised me by adding, "But I'm almost 3 on me birthday." Spoken like a true almost 3 year old.
Three years. Wow. Let's see...three years ago around this time...well, lets just look at a few journal entries, shall we?
December 24, 2004
I had to work today. Christmas Eve and Christmas were my holidays this year. I had to work as a PCA (nurse aide) today, not a secretary as usual. When I got to work, everyone was commenting on how swollen my face was. They were checking my ankles and shins for what they call “pitting” edema. They made me check my blood pressure, too. It was 133/85. Not too bad, really, but it’s higher than I had been. At my 24 week visit, my BP was 96/60. They had me check my urine with a dipstick on Labor and Delivery to see if there’s any protein in it: a sign of pre-eclampsia. There IS a little protein so the nurses sent me home on bed rest and ordered me to call my doctor about it. I took a big jug home to collect my urine for 24 hours just in case the doctor orders it. She did.
Mom came over for dinner. We had frozen lasagna as I haven’t unpacked the kitchen stuff yet.
December 25, 2004
Christmas Day. I am 31 weeks pregnant. I didn’t have to work today thanks to my potential PIH (pregnancy induced hypertension). We did drive into Boulder in the afternoon, though, to drop off my 24 hour urine collection jug. Then we drove to Mom’s where I sat around and drank lots of water like I’m supposed to. Tonight the doctor called and says the protein level is borderline.
December 27, 2004
I went in for a visit with Dr. Jill Siegfried. My blood pressure was okay and the urine dipstick didn’t reveal ANY protein. She says I don’t have to be on bed rest but to take it easy (no unpacking the new house) and I could keep being a secretary at work as it was pretty sedentary. My legs, hands, and face are still quite swollen. Even just sitting around. I have to go back to see her next week since things are so borderline. I will continue to take it very easy and monitor my blood pressure at home with the cuff Mom loaned me. Today my pressure at the office was something or other over 82.
Ooooh, wow...kinda neat looking back on everything. This is me 3 years ago...bedresting on the couch with Blitz...the closest thing I had to a baby just yet.

How times change.
Boys and Their Toys
So one of the bigger hits of the Christmas toy barrage was Diego's Talking Rescue Center. We almost didn't get it for him but I was really wanting him to have an actual toy to use his imagnation and play with. He's got books and puzzles and instruments and other semi-educational stuff...and some old babyish toys. But, he's not real great about playing independently (we play with him so often, which I love) but this Rescue Center has given him more opportunties for independent play. Plus it's just really cool:
Easton also received a cheap little doctor's kit (from Baby Dalton) for Christmas. The other morning he told me, "Take off Dalton's jammies" to which I was like, "What?!? Why???" then I realized, he needed to listen to Dalton with his stethescope, so we obliged.

Dalton even got a band-aid after his shot:

Dalton's gigantic stuffed dog from Grammy has been fun too. He has a hard time crawling over it just yet:

And the fort! The fort from Santa has been fun but we've had "issues". Easton crawled on the top of it once, bending a piece. So it got taken away for a night. Dalton likes to pick it up Bam-Bam style and it comes apart. Santa's elves should've spent a litte more time constructing this, you would've thought Santa bought it at Wal-Mart or something. Oh well. It's still quite fun for them:

Dalton's been enjoying his ride-on hippo. It looks like Easton is trying to nudge him off here, but really he's trying to steer it as he's giving him a ride:

So cute:

And oh how I wish I didn't cut off his head here:

He's learned to wave, by the way.
Both boys enjoy the doggy Bumble Ball:

As if we didn't have enough balls in this house!
Ha! That sounded kinda naughty, but I really didn't mean it that way. Although surrounded by boys like I am, it works both ways. Tee hee!
Speaking of...seems there's no better time than this part of the post to show my underwearing boy and his bus' up drum kit. Just like a real rock star:

He's got a sweet nurturing side too, of course.

Then he told me, "Oh no! Me monkey threw up his milks!" and went to get a rag to clean up:

Think this little fella might have something to do with that part of Easton's imaginary game?

And he doesn't even have reflux anymore.
Perhaps Dalton's spitty "issues" are part of the reason Easton won't let him near his new baby monkey:

Although, it appears Dalton is relatively happy just watching:

Anyway, we've finally sorted through everything and our house is looking close to the way it looked before. We put 2 of Dalton's new things in the basement for when he's a little older and can use them better. He doesn't miss them as clearly he's more interested in Easton's stuff anyway.
These boys!
