Easton's new Transformer came in a box labeled "5+"...okay, Easton is 4.5...he can easily complete a puzzle labeled "5+" by himself. He's a bright kid. But his new Transformer is a pain in the patoot to transform.
I'm 30+ and *I* thought it was hard. The instructions didn't help a bit. Lauren and I were downright perplexed. Eventually once we figured out what his actual model was called (they're very specific, you know) we found a YouTube dork to help us out with a little video tutorial. It still wasn't super-easy even with the grown-up toy geek's help and Easton was itching for his Autobot to get back into vehicle form:
Just about finished!
Ta da! And poor Lauren and her sore thumbs:
We're hoping we can figure out how to transform it ourselves without the dude on YouTube's help and then teach Easton the sequence. I sure hope the one Wabie brings is much easier to figure out!

BubTar has that one and it WAS hard. I figured it out, after playing with it for a long time (that canon arm is the tricky part!), but BubTar is 7 and SUPER mechanically inclined and it was too tough.
Just don't get this one: http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2297752
It is 2 transformers that join together to make the Millennium Falcon. After 8 months of transforming it I think I have it figured out.
I personally like this kind

or the Activators. http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3145320
One or two steps to transform them. ;)
We were never able to figure out one that Santa brought Adam at Christmas. Ever since that bad experience we've stayed clear of Transformers. They are a taboo topic at our house. lol
When I saw Laura, I got excited because I thought we were going to see her Cat Woman costume!
Transformers are HARD to do!!!
Thankfully Luke is still on Thomas.
I can even cheat.. names on the bottom of the trains.
Someone was thinking right that day when they did that :)
