One night after our usual time spent in the rocking chair, I went to lay Dalton in his bed thinking he was nice and drowsy and about ready to fall asleep. Instead he shouted, "Wheeeeee!" on his way into the bed. Sooooo funny but he was quiet after that and put himself to sleep as usual.
During a recent family outing, the boys brought along Baby Dupa (the doll) and Dalton was playing with her in the car but he let it fall into his nose and burst into tears. I asked him, "Awwww, did you bonk your nose?" to which he said, "No, Dupa!" as if it was the inanimate dolly's fault. :)
That same outing we realized Dalton says, "Ponked me noggin'" instead of "Bonked my head" or even "Bonked my noggin'"
On the way home from church Dalton tattled on his brother's new nasty habit and shouted to us, "Bubba eating!!!" Sure 'nuff...Easton had a finger in his mouth, presumably with a disgusting boogie on it. Blech!
The first time Dalton wore shorts this year he was a little baffled by his knees hanging out of his clothes. I remember Easton doing the same thing at that age, actually. At naptime he kept trying to pull his shorts down to cover the rest of his legs and finally insisted on putting his jammies back on because his clothes were "too 'mall" (small)
We had a few power surges yesterday morning with the lights going in and out. Dalton came over to me to ask, "What did the lights say?"
Dalton is a big talker. He cracks us up all the time but I don't always put his "Dalton-isms" in here because I'm not sure how well they translate, ya know? Like when Jason polished off all the dinner on his plate and D-bug told him, "I proud o' you!" Or when he's climbed up something at AussieRoo and wants help getting down he says, "Mama! Mama! Help! I in trouble!"
Mostly his little "kidbits" are just cutsie...like when he enjoys something and says, "Ohhhh 'licious!"
He often tells me, "Good driving, Mama!" when I've pulled into a parking spot.
Or certain expressions he's learned from his brother his brother...for example, when rocking I recently I told him, "Dalton, lay down" and he threw his Cuddles to the floor shouting, "Never!!!" (I somehow think its so funny when Easton says it--it's always with a smile--so it's waaaaaaaaay hilarious when my 2 year old says it!)
Anyway, it was Diddles' turn for a few of these. Hope you like!

I had no idea he was such a talker! What a sweetie.
I like "ponked my noggin" and "Never!". I can just picture him saying both those things...too cute.
Precious!!!
I love all the "Daltonisms"! So fun--can't wait until Emma starts talking.
OH---and we would love to see you--even if you live further away, maybe while I am off for the next month we can visit!
