I think it's been, like, a week since I've done one of my usual "recappy" blogs of our day to day happenings. I guess with last weekend and being sick and having some doctor's visits to report on and all that I haven't done much with what else has been going on around here.
But there's no time like the present...let's go back to last Thursday. Easton's signed up for t-ball this summer so we got him a little t-ball set for the backyard to practice with. When Jason got home from work that night he took E out back with just his glove and a ball and explained that this was the whole reason he ever had kids to begin with: to teach them to play ball :)
Because we bought E something, I had to get D a little something too this time. So he got a life jacket for swimming this summer. It has a generic little clownfish on it so he calls it his "Nemo jacket". On Saturday morning he refused to take it off for quite some time:
He knew someone would be swimming that day...Easton started back at lessons:
We all went to watch him. He's still a superstar when it comes to the water. And now that they're getting older and are more trustworthy in the water, while the one kid is out taking a turn with his teacher, it seems the other kids are allowed to be in the water, hanging on to the side. Maybe that was just something this particular "spotter" allowed, but it makes it much less miserable for the waiting children to get to be able to do something and be in the water where they're not as cold.
Later that afternoon Dalton started on one of his Chuck E. Cheese monologues. He loves that place and talks and talks and talks about it. Jason thought it would be fun if one time we could just give into it...so we did. He started talking and we were like, "Good idea! You wanna go?!?!" and it was very exciting for both boys. However, it was a rainy Saturday afternoon and, well, there's a reason we tend to stay away from that place on the weekends. Holy moly! Still the kids had fun among the crowds:
I took this because up on the screen there I thought to myself, "No doubt those two are brothers!"
And Chuck E. himself never comes around when there's only 5 of us there on a weekday morning...so that was fun...for E:
Dalton was willing to give him a high five but that's it. Later Jason took him back to see Chuck E again and asked D if he wanted to get down. Dalton said, "No...it's too much." :)
But, a picture of Chuck E is just fine...with the majority of our tickets we got Dalton a Chuck E Cheese jibbitz for his Croc shoes. He loves it:
Easton got a small piece of taffy with the remaining tickets...what a good sport he was to let Dalton get the coolest prize.
Sunday was my E.R. day and also Ben's birthday party. Jason had the boys all morning while I laid around miserable and drugged in my room. And so he supervised Easton coloring Ben's Mickey Mouse card:
Easton said he was "happy to do [that] for Ben" :) Jason took E over to the party while he waited for the soup he was making me to heat up. And Diddles was glad to have his two parents to himself for lunchtime:
Monday we woke up to some snow we didn't realize was coming:
But as soon as breakfast was over the boys were willing to take advantage of what is probably our last snow of the season:
Snow angels:
Dalton was too too cute throwing snowballs at the sliding glass door:
While Easton busied himself with his very own snowman. I was impressed he knew what to do so well...I think he and Jason have only made one snowman before and it was about a year and a half ago...but E set off rolling a ball around the yard to gather more snow:
Did it three times and placed them on top of each other:
Added a little carrot nose:
Little brother looked on but actually left it alone!
Ta da!
And D moved on to mowing the snow:
Then they came inside to warm up...Easton likes hot chocolate now...and apparently snuggling:
Ah brothers...
I think this might be Monday afternoon...E is in different p.j.'s but he does that a lot. Anyway, he's making a dinosaur project:
With using Elmer's glue we had to let it dry a few times in between working on it.
This is Diddles and I on Tuesday morning...our ultrasound day:
It also marked 7 months since my miscarriage and I knew it...but I chose not to wear my 12 pearls that day. Not exactly sure why, I know I didn't want to take anything away from getting to see Wabie later. Anyway...
Having to wake D up to head to the family practice doctor on Wednesday:
But after my appointment we met J for dinner at a fast-ish food Greek place and then stopped by Baskin Robbins for 31 cent scoops on the way home. A lovely evening!
Thursday was another school day for E...Roo day for D and I. E did great for school again and once it was over I picked him up and we had to head down to the dentist for both boys. We stopped for some "lunch" first at Jamba Juice:
Easton did great at the dentist...still no cavities. The only drama involved flossing. We floss his teeth nightly at home and we recently got a different brand of pre-strung flossers...which he does not like. So flossing has suddenly become this huge ordeal at home and when it came time for the hygenist to floss he flipped over onto his stomach and said, "No...I don't want to floss." But the dentist himself just did it later and it was no big whoop. Then it was Dalton's turn. They weren't going to bother with cleaning his teeth just yet but the dentist did want to look at them and see how they were coming in. He's still only got 2 of his 4 two year molars. And those are close. Dalton did not love having the dentist poke around...he did okay at first but once he kept gagging it made him cry. :( At least his time was short. Neither boy has any cavities and the dentist warned me to start saving for braces for both. Their teeth are close together and I guess so are their bites. Anyway...who doesn't get braces these days??? I think they've got great smiles for now:
On the way home from the dentist things weren't going as well. I was terrified we would run out of gas on the highway, Dalton was overdue for his nap and Easton was suddenly complaining of ear pain:
He's had a cold even longer than I have and also when I got home I learned that the infectious myringitis I had is indeed infectious...techinically it could be contagious even though regular ol' ear infections are not. I dosed him up with some Motrin, some garlic oil on a cotton ball, and gave him my hot rice sock:
He hasn't mentioned it all day today. I think he's cured. And yes, I do believe his ear really was bothering him in the first place but who knows exactly why?
With the Motrin on board he was even happy at dinner:
He slept fine last night too. Whew.
Today after breakfast Easton decided to finish up with his dinosaur we'd started earlier in the week. It needed its spots glued on:
So Dalton started on a doggie foamie The Maws recently sent:
Finished!
Then Easton moved onto a new dinosaur foamie (also sent by The Maws):
We're having kind of a lazy day here at home (for now) and Easton had all kinds of things we were going to do after breakfast...dance, do projects, do laundry, take a pretend nap, hunt the dirty sock monster, and play games...So we played some "Ants in Your Pants":
Followed by Elefun. And can't forget more laundry and just hanging out:
Finally you're all caught up once again...wish I could say the same thing for myself and the laundry...but we're getting there. Have to hit Wal-Mart later too.
Till next time...

See, Josh HATES sports, so if these kids are gonna learn to throw, it'll be on me. LOL. But I'm not big on sports either!
K was totally terrified the last time we went to CEC. She kept saying "I know he is here! He's watching me! He's going to get us!" Needless to say, she isn't fond of Chuck.
Too cute. I love the snow pics! And I LOVE Elefun and Ants in yo Pants. Can't wait to play em, again!
Adam would loooove those dino crafts...very cute.
And I'm so jealous about the tee-ball. Can't start that for another year here and I think Matt and I are just as excited about it as Adam is. I hope Easton has fun with it this summer.
Super cute smiley pics of both your boys!
I'm so darn in awe of your crafts...I'm just not that good on a daily basis!
can I come to your house on a "lazy day?" Sheesh woman...you're makin' me look bad.
