My baby girl is two months old today!!!
Yes, already! :(
Time is a'flyin', I tell ya.
Here are some of the latest happenings with her....
- I think she has baby eczema. She's had rashy cheeks and sometimes forehead for a few weeks now. She screamed when I put some basic lotion on it (the kind we use on the boys' eczema) so I thought otherwise briefly. However, I put a wool hat on her the other day. She wore it for quite awhile and well, when I took it off, her forehead and behind her ears where the hat touched were all kinds of ugly and painful looking. So, I'm thinking contact dermititis from the wool. But her cheeks pretty much always have something going on and that makes me fear she's allergic to something in my diet. I've already had to eliminate peanuts for her because they make her miserable (tested this theory several times before finally giving up my peanut M&M habit). :( I'll see what her pedi says next week at her 2 month well-baby visit. The boys both have eczema but theirs is nummular (read: not the same as what I think is going on with Autumn).
- Her favorite things in the world are her mobiles. The stationary one above her changing table currently gets more smiles than anything in the house:
She also loves the duckie one above her crib that plays a song. She talks to and smiles at it a lot in the evenings while we get the boys ready for bed. However...
- She doesn't sleep in her crib yet. We really haven't even tried. She likes it here...
...or in the swing during the day. At night she is in her Pack & Play right next to me or in the bed with us. I like it that way for now. Especially because...
- I think my milk supply has gone down with all the exercise I've recently started doing. She's waking up far more often both during the day and at night, unfortunately. My body is not used to all this calorie burning, I guess, and so, for now, the milk is not keeping her satisfied for as long (it has lasted too long to merely be a growth spurt). Don't worry...I have plans to get it under control, it may ultimately mean giving up the 30 Day Shred for something less intense until I'm no longer her only source of nutrition. But keeping rolls on my baby is much more important to me than losing them on myself. (For now, anyway!)
- I finally shopped for my daughter. We have been insanely blessed when it comes to hand me downs. So much so that I returned every single new thing I bought her. With the secondhand stuff I scored at the JBF sale and the hand-me-downs from a few generous friends, plus new stuff she's gotten as gifts...my girl is fairly set when it comes to clothes. I have no idea what it's like to shop for my daughter. It's a little sad, really, as I would love to buy her fun girlie things. But she doesn't need anything. And I'm too frugal to really want to splurge much. When we go to the store I still don't really look in the baby girl department. I'm crazy, I know. I know some people shop there that don't even have little girls (yet!) However, my friend Amy told me about a great sale on Chucks. I wanted to get some for the boys but they didn't have any left in their sizes...so Miss A got some to wear in about a year:
She got a second larger pair to wear in about two years. But seriously, that is all I have bought new (and kept) for my daughter since she's been my daughter. I bought a few things when "Wabie" was unknown. Oh wait...we bought a pack of newborn onesies, socks, and a few basic barettes right after she was born. But other than that: NADA. Crazy, huh??? I need to just get out there and splurge just once. I did look at Christmas dresses today. Having a girl was supposed to make me want to shop. I'm still waiting... :)
- I think that's about all I can think of for now. Of course there is lots more going on. But we'll leave it at this for tonight. Toodles!

Geez, I *still* shop the baby girl section, so much cuter stuff than boys. And you can super cute stuff without having to splurge on Baby Gap. The bug'll get ya!
I love her chunkiness! She is starting to get all soft and squishy.
What do you use on your kids for their excema? I use Cetaphil cleanser and lotion on all three of my kids. Elsie's was really bad this summer and so I also applied A&D Ointment on the affected areas (face, back and bottom) and that seemed to really help.
I have never really shopped for my kids either, with the exception of holidays (I made it clear from the beginning that I will be the one to buy these). My mom buys all their clothes and I feel like I have missed out some, but I can't complain because it save us a ton of money. I did tell her recently that I want to go shopping with her, because I feel like I would like to at least have a chance at choosing what my kids wear.
say what?! I can't even fathom this no shopping business. That's pretty incredible!
I think you need to schedule a shopping trip STAT!
Yes, that no shopping business is whack! Does Jason realize how good he has it, having a wife that doesn't spend a ton of $$ shopping for her baby girl???
The Chuck Taylor's are adorable. Love that look on little girls.
