Post-Maws

The Maws left us Friday afternoon to pack and rest up for their early morning travels the next day...

G-Ma had to leave behind her pretty yellow roses so we decided to photograph our pretty girl (dressed in yellow) with them:

Not everyone looks this good with a rosy 'fro:

We also piled the yellow party balloons all around her for another photo op:

Easton wanted in on that one:

While Dalton later opted to bury himself in the corner with them:

Then I sat with Autumn on the couch and she flashed me what I believe was her very first intentional smile. And she kept it up for a bit so Daddy and Easton could see a few too:

I tried to have her keep going but got this instead:

She's smiled a time or two since then but has yet to be super smiley just yet. I bet it won't be long before I'm posting more gummy grins, however. She's already 6 weeks old, you know...

While The Maws were here this week we had the idea to stop by Blockbuster. We NEVER go there (because we have Netflix and the library) but it occured to me that you could rent Wii games. Family Feud was due to come out on Tuesday and I thought that might be a fun way to hang with The Maws, however, our Blockbuster didn't get that game so I rented Toy Story Mania for the boys instead. It's very similar to the ride of the same name that we did at Disneyland and we all had fun with it. Jason and I even played once the boys were in bed! :) But our little guys had fun:

Easton is suprisingly good at the Wii...particularly the Lego Star Wars game Lauren has left here. He's much better at it than me...those controls get too complicated for a non-gamer like myself. :)

And just a few more of Autumn, just because. I love her little sleeper I bought at a secondhand store. I think it looks like candy.

Then it was time for a nap so I swaddled her up good...and Dalton wanted in as well:

Aren't they sweet?

Look for more of this kind of stuff over the next two weeks. Jason's leave is over half way gone...but we kind of feel like it's just getting started since his vassectomy and long recovery was the first week and our guests were here the second week...now it's just us again and who knows what's in store?

Right now the guys are playing at the indoor rec center while Autumn snoozes and I'm catching up on Thank You notes. We've been blessed so there's a lot to be thankful for!

Cael & Easton must get together! Cael's favorite game is Star Wars Legos. Love Autumn's in headbands & bows-super cute!!

Your burrito babies are too cute. :) And I love that you got pics of some of her first smiles (I expect no less!). First smiles have been some of my favorite moments with both my boys...I love it!

And I don't know why we've never thought about renting any Wii games. Our Wii is very neglected these days.

You might be able to help me out if something...is there a monthly fee attached with renting at Blockbuster or just a per rented item fee? It has been so long since we've used a rental store Josh and I can't recall! We're thinking of setting up a video game rental on Friday for BubTar when he gets perfect conduct grades for the week.

It is funny how easily kids pick up video games (and other technology).
