Wow...I'm so far behind still. Okay, not SO far, but still...for me...it's behind. So, Sunday...I think I remember outside stuff that day--I should check the pictures. Okay, yup...Sunday Jason and Easton headed outside for a bit to trim rosebushes and other manly things. Easton had his little tools too. I guess he'd get a little bored and would wander around the yard and then come back and tell Jason, "Need a big hug" and "need another big hug". J said he did this 4 or 5 times. Awwww. For a kid that never used to be a cuddler that is very sweet. He's never told me he needed a big hug. Sweet. Anyway, Jason offered to let him come back inside but he said, "No...want to stay with Daddy." What a heart melter. He was rewarded when they shared a father/son popsicle afterwards:
When the boys were napping I snuck out for some Starbucks with my mommy friend Ember again. I gave her my old maternity clothes *sniff*sniff* Who knows if I'll ever wear them again? Anyway, it was really nice to get out again and talk to adults other than my mom and Jason.
When E woke up he and I washed the car:
The car's not all that clean still but it was more for the experience...you know how that goes. With his lack of any body fat he got quite chilly and we came in and took off his clothes and bundled him up for a bit:
After that I gave Jason his weekly head shave (a "buzz buzz" is how it's known 'round here). Easton came out on the porch with us in just his diaper and skinned his knee really badly. Poor dude. The last scuffs weren't quite healed yet! Oh well.
And Dizzle...well, he's still a happy fat little dude.
His legs are so huge that the snaps pull on his jammies:
And eventually just pop open:
Reminds me of those "yo mama" jokes..."Yo baby's so fat his belly button makes an echo." We love him.
And that was Sunday.
Monday was our anniversary...thanks for the calls and comments...Jason was off like I said and we woke up bright and early with Easton. Once D woke too we began the celebrating. It started with a yummy breakfast:
That's our favorite flavor of smoothies with some of my "gourmet" breakfast 'tates on the stovetop. Yum. Jason put on the music in our Hawaiian mp3 folder and I melted a coconut tart in our tart burner. Just like we were on Maui. Only this time we had real air conditioning and a couple of kids underfoot.
After breakfast Jason gave me my "gift" (we don't really do material gifts unless it's something for both of us...our bedroom furniture one year, John Mayer tickets this year). Anyway...waaaaay back when we first started dating he wrote me a song. For Christmas that year he recorded a simple acoustic version. For yesterday he got all fancy pants and recorded a new version where he is the whole band again (bass, guitars, drums, percussion, and vocals) and it's so cool. He did a great job. I'll share it with you all soon but I want to put some pictures with it or something. You know how I am. I couldn't top that but I did get his watch fixed like he was wanting and attached a note, "Because when we're together time stands still...Love, Bevin" (hopefully AJ can appreciate that like we did). And Easton and I made a project too:
The finished product...it's also a magnet. Super cool, no?
So, that was Daddy's "prize" (surprise). I really liked that project kit. It was a good one and all the pieces had adhesive on them so it didn't need gluing. I like that with my toddler. The picture is in a "bubble" so those glitters and beads can roll around freely.
Anyway, after our yummy breakfast and listening to my song a few times we got ready for our "fun family outing": miniature golf. Here is Dalton in his golf attire:
If you look close you might see Pooh and his golf club. That cute outfit (with visor!!!) was in the latest package from The Maws. It is 6-9 month sized but I think it's fitting my 3 month old (3 1/2 months) just fine. He's standing on Easton's chair because I thought that was the best way to model it. I really love the visor:
So we get to mini golf. Easton needed some coaching and help determining if he wants to putt like a leftie:
Or a righty:
Unfortunately after about 5 holes he decided he didn't want to putt at all and did things like this instead:
That eventually led to things like this:
Sometimes it's hard to listen when you're hot, bored, and it's naptime. It wasn't all like that though...
Pose with Mommy:
Pose with Daddy:
Exploring the cool tunnel under the waterfall:
My sweet, hot Diddlebug trying to stay out of the sun:
And then it was time for a special treat--Bumper Boats! He was just barely tall enough. You were supposed to be 36" and we just kinda raised the hat on his head when he stood in front of the "You have to be this tall" measuring sign. Such rule-breakers, aren't we? Waiting in line:
Poor Dizz was soooo hot and tired while we waited for them to finish their boating adventure. Look how red his little face is compared to his arms:
We came home and the boys napped and J and I ate lunch and took turns with Dalton. Then it was time for dinner: Pappadeux's Seafood Kitchen (right up J's alley!) We had never been there before...probably because I hate seafood...but it was my year to plan our anniversary festivities so I picked that for my man:
The whole family before we left:
And just the happy couple...I can't believe I'm even posting this one because I hate how freakin' fat I look here. Oh well:
Our waitress was super slow and our boys were out of sorts for some reason. The food was fine, I think we'll go back. Easton ate 3/4 of a shrimp! But E whined a lot, even at our waitress which is so unlike him (the waitress part, he whines at us all the time). Dalton wasn't too happy in his seat but if he was out he was as happy as clam (hopefully some of you are appreciating my seafood reference there). So I held D with one arm and ate with the other. Not the most romantic of anniversary meals but whatcha gonna do?
Anyway, now it's Tuesday and we're all caught up for the time being. This morning was donut day once Easton woke (at 7:38!) and Dalton (at 9:00!). Too bad Dalton actually waking for the day doesn't mean much as he wakes constantly for pacifiers and such. Yes, I'm still grumbling about that. He's back down to just one feeding in the night, though so that's a start.
It's getting late... I should wake Easton up. Thanks for stopping by!

3 Happy Years
Today just happens to be my and Jason's 3 year wedding anniversary. The Hawaiians are all celebrating today too (really it's because it's also King Kamehameha Day for them).
We've sure packed a lot into our 3 years together, haven't we? The 3 best years of my life. That's for certain.
Anyhoo...Jason took today off and we're doing some family stuff today to celebrate. We're doing our "big" anniversary celebrating when we head to Red Rocks this Friday to see John Mayer. We're very excited. Neither of us have been to a concert at that world famous venue before. And it'll be our first date since Dalton's been born.
So, anyway, I'm not doing much more of a blog than this today. Although there is a montage of our wedding day that I posted last year too. Here it is if you feel like reminiscing with us:
I'd Maui him all over again. A ha ha ha! Happy 'versary to us, Loms!

A Little Bit of This and a Little Bit of That...
Speaking of "little bits"...today marks one year since a little piece of Jason and a little piece of me joined together to create what we all now know as Dalton. Awwwww. How's that for TMI? :) Well, we were trying to get pregnant so we don't know for sure, of course, but I was keeping track of "things" (temperatures and such) on a chart and that little eggie that is half of Dalton was probably hatching on the 10th from the looks of things back then. He's been in our lives for a whole year now. Even if we didn't know it just then. Aaaaaannnnyway...
Well, speaking of that little dude. He's actually not so little. But we knew that. Here he is sporting one of Easton's diapers...Size 3's.
They fit him just fine. Although we still have him in 2's till we run out of the pack I just bought (which was why he was wearing one of E's in the first place...I ran out). And, just since I have nowhere else to put it, here's one of him playing with a carseat toy. He's very good at reaching--not that it's a terribly new thing, I just haven't captured it with a photo till now:
So, since I wrote a blog on Friday I don't have all that much to review. I did go to that Mom's Night Out which was fun. I didn't take any pictures because I didn't want to be the dork whipping out the camera so I decided to be a dork in the privacy of my own home and take one of myself before I left:
One of the mom's brought her "nursling" with her and he made me miss Dalton a little bit. My milk even threatened to let down when I saw him nursing. That quite suprised me. Anyhoo...on the way home there was a big accident and a human form lay on the side of the road covered by a white sheet. So much for my EMT training because that made me tear up a bit. I think the still-laying-on-the-side-of-the-highway part was what got me. Very sad.
Actually, I probably shouldn't have gone to MNO at all. What I should have done was gone straight to bed to prepare for Dalton's horrible night. Jason gave him a bottle which he totally guzzled and then some... He went down fine I guess and I pumped before I went to bed. Just then Dalton woke up. Grrr. And, he wanted to nurse. I tried but I ran out of milk so we had to heat up another bottle and he was up for an hour and a half in the middle of the night! Wiiiiide awake. Not cool, kid, NOT cool. We finally got him and us to sleep and he slept 5 straight hours which is better than he had done in awhile. I was happy about that.
On Saturday Easton and I sat down to color Jacques' box (the Cub Condo, it's called). Then Easton decided to wear it instead:
And he also wanted to do tattoos with the markers so we gave him a bunch as you can see...he's tattooing Daddy with a "strawberry":
The kid had a purple heart "medal" smack in the center of his chest, a basketball on one shoulder, a baseball on the other hand, a fancy script "E" on his bicep, multi-colored toes on one foot, a spider on his thigh, a "funny face" (a smiley) on the other foot with "snakes" (squiggly lines) on all his other toes. Plus he thought J drew an elephant on his back. He colored blue on the bottom of his own foot (not good for the carpet). Jason drew a frog on my foot. Good times. Good times.
E and I hopped in a shower after that because we wanted to go to the "Summer Reading Kick-Off Party" at the library and had to look somewhat presentable. Just Eastie and I headed up to the 'brary for that. It was kinda fun. There was supposed to be an animal tricks show at 11 but this is all it was:
A wacky lady in too tight clothes having her cat eat turkey with her (or off a boy's head) and pulling her dog around on a skateboard except the dog didn't want to do it and bit her. Easton did think it was funny when the cat would swat it's hands around trying to get some meat:
But Easton thought it was way lame and asked if we could go upstairs instead. So we did. Which was kinda lame too, but they tried. The theme this summer is "Get a Clue" so we made a "Get Your Prints on a Good Book" bookmark with Easton's little fingerprint on it. They had magnifying glasses to look at the prints with:
Then we moved on to make a "Library Detective" badge:
He colored two pathetic lines on it so I didn't bother having the guy make it into a button/badge and I wasn't too sad when it blew away in the parking lot later.
Some lady came up to us then to ask if Easton wanted to try her ring toss game. He did. She gave him a Play-Doh as a "prize". Then Miss Jenny came over and was saying how good it was to see Easton (it's pretty cool when librarians know you like that). Then she asked if he wanted to do her "obstacle course" which had a 2x4 laying on the ground. (Later Jason said they should have at least elevated it on a couple of books or something.) Anyway, follow the 2x4, jump on a mini-trampoline, then there was a big purple rectangle of butcher paper (not sure what he was supposed to do there) and 2 empty wrapping paper tubes (again...not sure what those were about). Miss Jenny also told him he could crawl through her "tunnel" which was a big table with a piece of green felt skirting it. He was polite and crawled through "like Thomas" (the Tank Engine). He played roll-the-ball with an 13 month old girl and then asked if we could get a snowcone. We did:
They were free and we came home for nap.
We went to Sam's after naps and then hung around at home. Dalton digging the TV and doing some toe-grabbin':
Being D:
I wanted to see how tall Dalton was standing next to Easton so here that is:
Dalton doing some "flying":
Multi-tasking mom...playing football with E with D on my legs. Jason was proud of catching this action shot:
Bedtime story...check out Dizzle's jowls!
Some bathtime fun:
Dalton doesn't love how loud his big brother can get when he's having fun in the bath:
He was feeling pretty serious right there.
Last night I nursed Dalton at 6:45 or so. Then some more at 7:45-ish and then he downed a big bottle after his bath. He woke up twice for a pacifier before waking to nurse sometime after 4 but that was actually an improvement so I'm happier. No clue how tonight will go yet, of course.
Okay, so now you're all caught up through Saturday. Today was Sunday and there's more to say and share but I'll save that for another time. I'm just falling behind! Yikes! Anyway...it's bedtime for me. Adios!
Build-A-Bear
Since I haven't really blogged for a bit there is soooo much to catch y'all up on but right now I'm just doing the Build-A-Bear re-cap. Just so you have a little something to tide you over. How considerate of me.
So, Gramoo and Auntie Lauren showed up to accompany us to the mall. Easton knew what we were going to do and seemed excited. When we got there he first was interested in building a Winnie the Pooh. But, I'm a mean bossy mommy and discouraged that route. You can get a Pooh anywhere, right? So he kinda had his eye on Big Bird next but I nixed that one too. I wanted it to be up to him to choose but when I saw what he might pick I stepped in to steer him back in another direction. They have cows, monkeys, pigs and such too but hello? it's called build a bear...and he was saying how we were going to go make a teddy bear...so that's what I wanted him to make. He eventually picked out a butterscotch colored bear with really soft fur:
I think he kinda thought we were done there. But no...it was on to stuffing it and such. We chose a medium stuffiness. He was excited to pick out "some clothes" after that. First he headed to a colorful Princess Jasmine outfit but I think even Gramoo stepped in to head him off that direction. He didn't mind. I think he just thought it looked interesting rather than actually wanting it for his bear.
First he chose a baseball uniform and was telling his bear how he'd be wearing that. Then somehow someone (*cough*cough*
Gramoo) got a little A.D.D.-ish and showed him more choices. Then again, maybe not...I don't know exactly what happened but he's not dressed as a baseball dude. As long as it wasn't Princess Jasmine I was fine :) I wanted him to get what he wanted (you know, for the most part anyway *wink*). So, he then picked up a football uni which was pretty cute to watch him take off the rack and inspect it with his new bear in mind. We stuck with that and dressed the bear up like a little jock.
My mom pointed out how it'll go with the theme of his bedroom. So true. It also matches the Broncos' colors. He got some little cleats to finish off the ensemble and we were ready to make the birth certificate.
He sat on Auntie Lauren's lap and helped her push the buttons..."the blue one" "the one with the star". At this time we had to decide on a name. At one point before all this I asked him, "What's your bear's name?" to which he answered with a lame and unimaginative "Teddy Bear". Ummmm, mommy wasn't going to let that be his name so I just told myself that maybe Easton didn't really understand the question. Later when he was at the computer we asked him again and this time he said, "Hello". What? A bear named "Hello"? It went down like this: Gramoo said, "What should we call him?" and after a few seconds (perhaps not even in response to that question) he said, "Hello" and I went, "Hello?" and Gramoo said, "You want 'Hello'? (for the name) and he nodded. So when Lauren went to type it in I had to be bossy mommy again and said, "Don't put Hello". Sheesh. It became clear that Easton might not be able to come up with a good name just yet. So I gave him two choices: Butterscotch (for the color) or Jacques (like "jock" since he's a little football bear, get it?). Anyway...meet Jacques:
Lauren took that picture! And this one too:
Easton adores his Auntie Lah-nin:
And holding her hand in line:
A bunch of movie clips from the experience (about 2 minutes long):
I had planned to make them (and us) tacos for dinner that night but we had shopping to do after making Jacques and it got to be kinda late so my mom offered to treat us all to Red Robin. We went for that instead. While there Dalton decided to become a thumb sucker:
He is loving that thing. He has also just recently discovered his feet (well, only his left foot so far). One of his new favorite things to do is suck his right thumb and hold his left foot's toes. I honestly think he's too fat to get the toes into his mouth. We'll see if that ever happens. It took Easton a little while after discovering his feet with his hands before he'd put them in his mouth.
At dinner:
"I know that thumb's around here somewhere"
With Gramoo:
And the toes that night in the bath:
Easton and his new bedtime bud:
And watching Nemo with Jacques the next morning:
He really likes his bear. Thanks to Gramoo for the gift card and Lauren for thinking of the great idea in the first place. I think he really liked it...even with Mommy's helpful steering. I mean, if we left it completely up to him we'd have a Big Bird dressed like Princess Jasmine named "Hello" and I don't even think Easton wants that. It would eventually bother him that Big Bird was wearing the "wrong" clothes. Or even clothes at all. Already at bedtime he likes us to take "oss" Jacques' helmet and shoes. He likes for him to be comfy, I guess.
So, that about wraps up Thursday. Kinda crazy (and unlike me!) to be so far behind. But there ya go! Tune in soon for another exciting re-cap of our days. Bye!

Best Friends Day
Did you even know there is such a holiday? Apparently it's today.
So, in honor of that I made a montage. It's 2 songs long. Here ya go:
I won't say much else today, being that it's a holiday and all. Okay, duh, that's not the real reason. It's actually that Easton's up from his nap now and I don't want to spend a bunch more time here at the 'puter. So...I'll fill you in next time on his trip to Build-a-Bear.
Although since this is also a journal of sorts for me I will mention that Easton has been in a stretch of going to sleep at night without us needing to go back into his room for the last 4 nights. And, I woke up thinking Dalton did better (not great, but better) last night too and told Jason. He then informed me that he was in with Dalton about 3 times before he came to bed at 12:30. So, when I got up with him at 1:30 I was thinking it was his first time. D'oh! At least I didn't have to nurse him till almost 4...that part is better.
Tonight I'm going out for a Mom's Night Out with some mommy pals. It'll be the first time since Dalton was born. I'm sticking around through Easton's routine and then I'll be taking off after that leaving Jason to put Dizzle to bed by himself. What a nice hubster to "let" me go.
Anyhoo...I'm done for today. 'Til next time!
