It's Good to See 'Em Again
That's the Rockies I know...the ones who suffered an embarassing 13-1 loss to the Red Socks last night in Game 1 of the World Series.
Pathetic.
Hopefully the change in pitchers tonight will make things better. Because if not...yikes. We should just quit now.
But we're still trying to be supportive. Easton is wearing a purple t-shirt today and put on his daddy's hat:
Dalton didn't really want to wear the hat:
But he still looks cute and happy:
We even went and got special Rockies doughnuts today:
Maybe those are magic sprinkles? They need all the help they can get.

In other news, I just have to share these pictures. Some of you have already seen these photos. But, I'm hoping you guys will have a better visual of my dilemma to find my oldest child clothes that fit. He is 35 inches tall (at least) which is at least 10th percentile. But as you've also heard, he's only 23 pounds. The kid is a stick. I measured his hips today and he's only 16.75 inches around there. His legs (from hip to heel) are half of his height. Anyway, his old jeans that used to fit in the waist are now too big in the waist. He's gotten taller but thinner. So, I want an adjustable waist which doesn't typically start until the 2T size. Here is what he looks like in those:
They are on the 7th button hole on either side to adjust the pants to stay put. But, they're long.
But see how skinny this boy is:
Those are Old Navy "regular" fit. Go down one size to a 18-24 month and they're almost too short:
His socks hang out. He doesn't care but I do. And those ones still fall off his butt. Which I suppose makes them longer :)
Kelly has offered to help us out. Bless her heart.
Okay, that's all from me other than we're going out to eat tonight at the 3 Margaritas that finally opened right by our house. Wooooo!

A Smattering of Pics for You
Some kids (Adam and Katie!) like to play buckethead. Easton likes to play bucketbutt:
He likes for Mommy to play buckethead, though:
Silly.
And my sweet Diddle, who is 8 months old today. *sniff* He's starting to show a little more personality with his scrunchy nose or this goofy face:
This one looks like he's saying, "cheeeeeeeeeeeeese":
Cutie.
I love that kid even more than he loves his feet:
I think he is such a roly-poly still:
I love it. We don't go for another well-baby check (to see just how fat he is) till he's 9 months old. I still haven't decided on a new doctor for them yet. I should do that. Yeah, I need to do that real soon. Perhaps for this 9 month visit I'll just try another doctor in that practice. I have no idea how to find a good doctor. It's more expensive than trying out churches. :) I mean, yeah, word of mouth is good and all that... our friends in the area (Ember and Ellis) have Kasier insurance so I can't see their doc anyway. Poo. I need more friends in this 'hood.
Anyway, here's just a couple more of mine and Easton's stunts. I just still find them impressive. Ignore my blue socks and the fact that I'm still in my jammies (all of us were) at 7 p.m.
Actually I'm blaming yesterday's mood on not showering first thing in the morning. I showered and got all ready (even though I'm only wearing my favorite sweatsuit) first thing this morning and the day has been better already. Could be the shower, could be the new day. Who knows?
Anyway, duty calls. Well, actually it's Easton calling. For books. He doesn't always understand that "quiet time" means quiet. Bye!

I think I will regret this someday soon...
Easton learned to use the "mouse" on the laptop today. Look at what a pro he is as he helps Oobi grow flowers on noggin.com:
Today was a big day for him. He learned a little ballet from June on Little Einsteins: He is demonstrating "boure'e". And if you're anything like my mom you've now burst into the song from my ballet recital at age 3 called, "I have learned a ballet dance" which has the line, "On half toe I can do boure'e". So there. That is what our ballerino is doing. We can't think of a better term for male ballerina even though I think it's still just ballerina. But we can't have that. :)
And finally, he has a new favorite song:No we do not sit around still listening to Baha Men these days. That song is on a Halloween CD from Gramoo and he clearly enjoys the tune.
Finally, so he's not completely left out...Little D being cute:
Maybe that will make up for the recent lack of pictures.
I'm trying.
:)
The Weekend
So I never did actually recap our weekend other than the snow pictures. Oops.
Well, I'll do it now...because I'm sitting here once again waiting for the Rockies ticket page to re-fresh. No...no one got tickets yesterday. The system was a victim of a "malicious attack" a.k.a. "we just really can't handle all the interested buyers from our "online only" sales technique".
Anyhoo...
So, on Saturday we did our breakfast at McDonalds while getting the oil changed next door. It just works so well that way. And no eye mishaps this time. Whew. Saturday afternoon we went to Ellis's house. They had a little gathering for Ember's birthday. So the four of us did that.
Sunday Jason went to church. We're wanting to find a church home but we can't take our kids (Easton) to a new place week after week. You've heard how he does at drop-in daycare. So, the plan is for Jason to test drive a few until he finds a good possibility. Then he'll probably go again. If it's still looking good I'll go. And then we'll subject the boys to it. :) It'll be a lengthy process but that's the current plan.
It was snowing so Jason opted to try a church not too far away. It was not a winner for our new family church. Good to know.
On Sunday evening we went to watch the first half of the Broncos/Steelers game over with the Two Johns and Krista at their house. We enjoy them and John the Dad--you'd think he could be John 1 or something but really he's a fourth--anyway, John IV starts work with Jason on Monday! Funny...we know them because Jason used to work with Krista. Then I watched Baby John last summer. And now Dad John will be working with J.
So anyway, the plan was always to leave at halftime. The game was just too late to have stayed the whole time. The boys weren't in bed till after 8:30 as it was.
I did not take pictures of any of this. Just the snow. I'm slacking. I know.
I'm in a weird mood today. Dalton is definitely teething. And I need to force myself to relax on the pottying with Easton once again. I just have to accept that he will not poop in the potty yet and stop trying to bribe him: with suckers (instead of just a Pez), extra juice, and a trip to the ice cream store. He's just getting back into the swing of the whole potty biz but because he had no qualms about pooping last time I wish he would be the same this time. Why does he have to be one of the 20% with this "issue"? Blah. I offer a diaper while in the same breath offer the bribes. Why can't I learn?
Okay, anyway, off to give E some new books. He wanted to nap yesterday so I let him and it's just something we always regret at bedtime. And that is with waking him up. So, I'm really hoping no nap today. Goof.
Oh...
and...
This Rockies ticket selling system sucks baseballs.

I'm distracted as I type this...
I'm still trying to help Jason get World Series tickets. I just keep hitting refresh again and again in between typing over here. And nada. There are too many people trying to access the server. Can't even get close. I guess he's not the only Cubs (or any other team) fan wanting to go to the Rockies/Red Sox World Series. I mean, how often is such an event in your own backyard? That's right. Never. Hello...it's the Rockies (historically not a very strong team). And they would never have a Superbowl here because it doesn't work that way. The Stanley Cup has been here (and I went to Game 1 of the series!). But, baseball is bigger than hockey. So of course everyone and their mother wants to go and therefore it's really hard to get a chance to even think about buying a ticket.
Easton and I spent a lot of the morning in the basement (where the desktop is) so that we could have two computers going. Poor kid played a lot of "freeze dance" and exploring what the basement has to offer. Including Blitz's litter box where Easton offered him a candy in exchange for going potty. Blitz did not take him up on it. But Jason and I do! Easton makes us wash our hands first (good boy but we would do that anyway, of course) and then he gives us our reward candies. He's on Pez right now. And he's still doing great minus the pooping. Oh well.
Before I go too much further, I must correct something I said by mistake: I said that Easton was working on handstands. I'm surprised my P.E. teaching mother hasn't corrected me yet, but he is doing headstands (head on the ground) not handstands (head off the ground). Still, I know you're all impressed... And when I said, "he can hold it as long as I probably could" that means a few seconds at most.
Okay, I feel better now that I know I'm not misleading anyone anymore.
Wanna see more of his stunts?
We like to practice our circus acts. Pretty impressive balancing on my hands, no? He's a stud.
Dalton spent much of his weekend continuing to motor around the house. Still not on his knees yet but he's making it work for him. I also think he's starting to teethe again. Great. I can't wait for him to resume nipple biting and waking 15 times a night. Fun fun fun. Not.
Anyway...I'm off to play with Photoshop while I refresh some more. Adios!
Oh...I'm done playing. Here's what I made...
First, the original...
Then a few different brighter or grungier versions for fun (and notice how this image is clickable)...

Remember the Other Day...
...when it was fall here?
Well, this is Colorado.
And it's winter now:
Winter lasts a very long time here. As you can see we got our first little bit of snow this season.
Easton checking it out after he woke up (after 9:00!!!):
It made him want to wear his mittens:
And a Cuddles hat:
Dalton checking it out too:
Even Blitz came to check out the first snow of the season:
My boys playing:
Time to play!!!
Easton (and Jason's) first snowman:
Making his mouth:
Buttons:
"Not bad for a Louisiana boy!"
Jason made it a Rockies fan:
Easton decided (all on his own, mind you) to make it a snow woman:
Easton added those two extra snowballs and declared them, "Nipples!" So Jason added a flower behind her "ear". What goobers.
The Rockies hat is inspiring...
Jason felt like making a giant snowball...
That thing will probably be with us until next June.
Fun with Photoshop, although it turned out kinda lame. Oh well.
Poor Dizzle has to miss out on all the snow fun. But here are some cute pics just for fun:
And, even Dalton is transfixed by Yo Gabba Gabba...the world's stupidest television show that I let my kid watch anyway:
This is more than enough pictures for today so I'll fill you in on our weekend another time...once it's over. :)
