Say What???

Okay, first...I must address this now infamous comment by the ultrasound lady. When she said it...she said it to me and she said it meaning "boy". That is why when I looked at her for clarification on what the frick she was talking about she said, "I mean if it's another boy and I don't know if it is or not".

I can see why some of you took it to mean girl upon her first comment or not knowing who she was talking to...but we were there. She meant boy. Now whether she saw parts or not, I don't know. Sometimes it can happen that fast. When I had my very last ultrasound with Easton a day or two before he ended up being born, the doctor (who never went looking for gender) slipped (in hindsight) and she said, "Once he...or she...blah blah blah..." She tried to cover her blunder quickly and we told ourselves we still couldn't be sure. But looking back, quite the mistake. Like this other ultrasound tech has made? I guess we'll know in a few months.

Now onto my real post.

I can't hear out of my ear infected ear. Well, maybe I can a little bit but the other night I was sleeping with my good ear on the pillow and I couldn't hear Easton screaming for me in the night until I'd rolled over and he was in full fit mode, tears soaking his shirt from a long time spent crying. :( So, I called my primary care doctor's office to see what to do or who to follow up with. The pain from my ear infection is long gone. My last pain pill was that Vicodin that made me puke Monday morning, a little more than 24 hours after the pain started. But even though the pain was gone I still have this "plugged up" feeling in my ear and then there's the very diminished hearing.

Well, they said they wanted to see me. So the boys and I went up there yesterday afternoon and from the looks of things I had something I'd never heard of before: bullous myringitis. One of the characteristics is a severe sudden onset of pain for 24-48 hours. (Makes me feel much better about going to the E.R. for an ear infection as I had already decided there was no way Dalton was in the amount of pain I was during his ear infection last month.) Apparently a blister (or blisters) can develop on the tympanic membrane (ear drum) causing the severe pain and then they pop...which relieves some of the pain. But bullous myringitis is most definitely associated with some continued hearing loss--for 10-14 days or so--as well as the "congested ear" feeling I'm having. And when she looked in my ear she said she saw blood spots, like maybe where some blisters had been and had popped.

Interesting.

So, wouldn't the ER doctor have seen these blisters/vesicles? Maybe, maybe not. She said sometimes they're hard to see and that not everyone may know about bullous myringitis. Google seems to agree with that last part. But also it sounds like it can go along with a regular ol' ear infection and maybe the doctor was just seeing that part?

Even though it sounds like an STD of the ear, it could be bacterial or viral or mycoplasmal--which I think is parasites, eeeeeeek!!!

Apparently we're just going to wait on this hearing loss to hopefully resolve in the next two weeks but if not she'll send me to an ENT. About the "plugged up" bit she also advised me not to do Sudafed. I didn't ask about other decongestants but both the ER doc and now this family practice doc (who also delivers babies) have advised my pregnant self to stay away from the Sudafed. I'm considering asking my OB about taking something, just because it's soooooooo annoying to have my ear feeling like it needs to pop for the last week or so. Also because I'm far enough along in my pregnancy where basically everything is formed by now (and lookin good on ultrasound!) so it's a little less risky of a move to take certain things. We'll see though.

Anyway, that the scoop. Maybe my medically minded pals (Kelli and Kyla, especially) will have learned a little something new with this. :) And the rest of you might go, "Oh, maybe she's not such a wimp after all for not wanting to wait 4 hours for urgent care". :)

The end.

My Three Sons???

A mere two people have now let me know they think "boy" for Wabie. One says that looking at me, she says she feels 51% boy 49% girl...another just told me on my Facebook page based on the profile picture of Wabie I posted, I guess.

Here's Wabie from yesterday again...
Photobucket

Here's Easton's profile at 19 weeks...
Photobucket

And Dalton's profile at 18 weeks...
Photobucket

Sort of amusing how they're all facing the same direction. Think they all look like boys? I will tell you that I've been obsessing over that ultrasound tech's comment about not having anyone stealing my clothes all day. Obsessing!

It's a......

baby!!!!

What were you expecting? A pony?
Photobucket

So today was our "big" ultrasound and just as planned, we didn't find out the gender. Although that wasn't for my darn husband's lack of trying. But first things first.

We got in there, brought the boys too. I told the tech, "We don't know or want to know the gender" and she said okay and puts the probe on my belly. The baby hadn't been visible for long when the tech says, "At least you won't have anyone stealing your clothes..."

I looked at her, like, "What in the heck do you mean by that, Woman?" and she was quick to say, "If it's another boy, I mean, and I don't know if it is or not..."

Had she seen something??? Hmmmmm. Jason believes it was waaaaaay too early for her to have truly learned the gender but you never know...when it's something you do every day and all...

She went through all her measurements and looked at all the non-gender parts she could see. Everything looked great with the baby! She warned us, "I need to take a look at the bladder now" and I covered my eyes...Jason started looking!!!! If I could've reached him I would've smacked him. He started making up rules like, "We said I wouldn't find out but if I happened to catch a glimpse..." What the heck!?!? I can tell you I won't be inviting him to any more ultrasounds. :) He and the tech both claimed they still didn't know the gender though.

Then the tech left and the perinatologist came in and took a better look at a few of the things the tech couldn't see so well...like she said Wabie is ornery and wouldn't let them get a good view of the spine and kept moving so as to not allow a good pic of the heart. That's my little rascal! :)

Looking at it today I thought it was a boy. Just from looking at it. Anytime she was near a leg I would be so nervous it would kick and a little peen would bob up or something (like it did with Dalton) but nope...any parts stayed hidden. She said that she didn't think we'd be able to see anything anyway.

The other little bit of news left to share is that they took a look at the blood flow through my uterine arteries because that can somewhat predict developing preeclampsia in the future. Now, they weren't "normal" which would let everyone breathe a sigh of relief BUT you can have "not normal" like mine and still not necessarily have complications later on.

So, just like with Dalton's pregnancy I will continue to be high-risk and continue to have ultrasounds every 4 weeks from now on. Currently it's certainly nothing to flip out over or anything, just maybe keep Wabie and I in your prayers. I just want to stress that even me (a born-worrier) knows that this is not necessarily the beginning of the end or anything dramatic like that. They're watching me closely and will continue to. I will continue to take my baby aspirin and such and I will continue to pray for mine and Wabie's health.

As I said above, the baby looks perfect. I'm 21 weeks 1 day and Wabie measured 5 days ahead (just like at it's 12 week). We have a disc full of pictures but only that profile shot in hard copy and the disc is too hard to pull pics from so you'll just have to trust me that it has all it's arms and legs and fingers and toes and it's head is the right size and it's heart is working fine (didn't get the heartrate, though but it was 172 yesterday here at home) and I don't have any money shots for you to try to guess on. So there.

ETA: I was able to figure out how to pull off some screen shots from the disc...this is as close as you'll get to the crotch...
Photobucket
(For the less ultrasonically gifted, that it's neck being cut off on the left, hopefully you can tell that's a spine with some little curled-up-in-the-fetal-position legs towards the right)

However, most of the images aren't all the exciting...like what the heck is this??? It's says "CI" which I believe stands for cephalic index...now, cephalic is the head. And I guess they're measuring some width to length ratio?...so I s'pose I can see how this has a plane of the head in it...
Photobucket
...and maybe just the bird's eye view of some other parts sticking out beneath it? Eek!

That's the scoop. Time to go wake up Dalton since he got such a late start on his nap. Ta ta!

Blessed by my Boy

Yesterday morning at about 3:30 I woke up in terrible pain. The only pains I can think of that have woken me from a dead sleep are cramps in my calves when I'm pregnant, my liver about to explode as well as my head when I developed HELLP, and now this...ear pain.

I got up as there wasn't a chance I could sleep. I checked when the urgent care clinics would open and I looked at some home remedies online. But the pain kept getting worse so I said, "To heck with it..." and I decided to take myself to the ER. I doesn't cost us any money (thank you, Microsoft!) and rather than wait 4 hours for urgent care to open I wanted those numbing drops ASAP as well as the resources to check with an OB to make sure anything I would be prescribed was okay. So I headed to the hospital where they have to have OBs around instead of moaning and writhing my way through 4 hours just to go to a free standing urgent care clinic.

I apologized for coming in for what I thought was an ear infection but they were perfectly sweet to me. Sure enough, it is an ear infection but the trend these days is to wait on antibiotics so that's what they recommended for me as well. I have a cold, which is a virus...so my ear infection likely wouldn't be helped a lick with the antibacterials. Also, about 90% of ear infections go away rather quickly on their own without any meds. So...that's the route we went too. However, I did need something for the pain. The normal numbing drops are an "unknown" during pregnancy...ear infections are so uncommon in adults to begin with and so they certainly haven't found anyone willing to volunteer their fetuses to test the drops...so my OB said no. And ibuprofen is a no-no at this point in pregnancy as well. That leaves narcotics. I know it sounds crazy but it's true. They gave me Vicodin. In a normal adult they'd also suggest decongestants to help relieve some of the pressure in the Eustachian tubes...but again, they advised preggo me to stay away from that as well. Vicodin it was.

I popped two as soon as I was on my way home...I was close enough where they wouldn't take effect yet (and affect my driving abilities) but I was wanting them to start acting soon.

We decided against trying to go to church because I was holding an old sock full of hot uncooked rice against my ear. I contemplated throwing it into a dress sock to fancy it up for church but with the two Vicodin on board I wasn't able to be upright for too long.

Jason let me catch up on sleep and just totally took over with the boys all day. He was amazing. Easton was amazing as well. He kept offering to reheat my rice pack in the microwave. He went to a birthday party and the second he came home he asked, "So how have you been feeling? Do you want me to heat this up again for you?" How precious is he???

Today I was feeling rested and pain-free enough for Jason to go in to work, but that was of course with the aid of a Vicodin (I never took two at once again after how woozy it made me). However, without thinking I took the Vicodin on an empty stomach and paid for it later, throwing up and I've been nauseated ever since. Ick. Plus I think the Vicodin makes me tired. I was snoozing on the couch while the boys watched the new Wubbzy.

Then my thoughtful little man decided he was going to make lunch for everyone. I told him that I wasn't hungry because I still felt a little sick but he could make lunch for him and Dalton...so he did.

He decided he needed to put on his apron which was a party favor at the birthday he went to yesterday (how cute is that??? they made their own pizzas!):
Photobucket

Then he said, "Oop! I forgot to wash my hands!" and ran and took care of that before getting out two plates and setting out crackers and opening up a couple of string cheeses for himself and his brother:

A short climb up the pantry for a box of raisins...

And lunch is served!

Dalton can climb into his seat but can't snap the tray on...so big Bubba helped him:

And they blessed their lunch:

And I thanked God for my little blessings.

It's Friiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii-day!

Yay. I love the weekends. We don't have too much exciting going on...the weather has been high 70s this week but is going back down to the 50s for the weekend. That's okay. It's still April. Easton starts back to swimming lessons tomorrow and he's got a birthday party to go to. Other than that, I think we'll just enjoy our family time.

It's been so nice having such nice weather. The boys can't get enough of playing outside. Except on Wednesday I peeked out to check on them and found Dalton had removed his pants and was covered in dried bits of rosebush, courtesy of his big brother:
Photobucket

And Dalton removing his pants was a trend...the next time I looked out Easton was in just underwear!

That night we broke out the grill for the first time this year. I thought I was too stupid to figure out how to turn it on, but when Jason got home he discovered the ignitor button wasn't working...
Photobucket

I was just glad it wasn't simply me being a moron. Whew. He lit it the old fashioned way and we carried on with our colorful kebabs:
Photobucket

Photobucket

While the boys did a little playing in the sandbox:
Photobucket

They like the sandbox, but only for a short time. Then they move on to other things in the yard. I'd much prefer they sit there in the dirt but no, they like to go off on the side of the house where I can't see them, or climb trees, or sword fight with sticks or throw rocks down the window well (a no no!). Still, they've been having fun back there.

Easton ate a ton that night. I think he might be having a bit of a growth spurt. I hear of kids that don't eat much on a regular basis but one or two times a week they'll have a big eating day. Well, Easton doesn't do it anywhere near weekly but he's doing it right now. For breakfast on Wednesday he ate 4 muffins. Four! They were regular sized muffins too. Today he ate 2.5 Pop-Tarts when normally he'd only have 1.

I was just realizing that he started off this school year in 2T jeans and yesterday he wore a pair of 4Ts! So, he's getting taller at least. Although the 4Ts are still too long unless he's wearing his tennis shoes.

E had yet another great day at school. Jason had me a little nervous that E was a bit of a loner, like, on the playground and such, but I think we decided he was trying to show off when Jason was observing...like he can completely cross the monkey bars. Or he's learning to pump when he's swinging...those kinds of things. So yesterday I sat and watched them out there and he was totally involved in a group game and having a ball. Whew. Inside the Montessori classroom their independence is really encouraged and he definitely keeps to himself in there...like when other kiddos might sit by a friend or something he'll just do his own thing. But at least on the playground he's got his pals.

Anyway, on the way home from school Easton was telling us about how when we got home we needed to go on a "listening walk". I guess they'd read a book about such a thing in school or something so the second we pulled into the driveway he was ready to take off on our listening walk. We saw our neighbor (Ben) outside and invited him to come along too and took off without talking, just listening to all the sounds. Eventually the walk turned into a rock collecting expedition which was fine too. The boys were having fun with Ben, though, and I know that his younger brother and sister go to daycare and he just has to hang at home while one of his parents works from home. I thought he might be bored and so we invited him to come over for the afternoon.

I fixed everyone some lunch and Easton was excited to have "quiet time" with Ben. That's what he thought was still happening since he always has quiet time after lunch while D naps. Whatev. They played some Hungry Hungry Hippos in the basement and I don't know how...maybe our new basement floor is somewhat slanted, but Easton kicked arse every time. He'd get like 14 marbles to Ben's 4. And Ben appeared to be trying...he seemed bothered that Easton kept winning. But my Eastie was so sweet, he'd say, "Ben, I got some of yours, I'm sorry." Even though Easton wasn't doing a thing to cheat. So we stopped that game since there was no point with E winning round after round and the boys played in the backyard for a bit and later came in to play Wii. Ben has one at home and told us he was a really good boxer so Easton was, "hey, let's box!" Once again my boy kicked tail. He won round after round till he knocked Ben's Mii out.
Photobucket

Just like in real boxing, Ben offered Easton a drink and then squirted it into his mouth for him:
Photobucket

Since the boxing wasn't going well for Ben they moved on to tennis:
Photobucket

Neither kid was good at that, so that was good. :)

Ben is a good kid and the kids had fun even though Ben is a tad bossy. Then again, he's nearly two years older than Easton (Ben just turned 6) and he's got two younger siblings of his own. I'm sure that's just how E would be with a kid two years younger than him. Maybe. Ben was with us from about 11:30 until 4:00! We hardly have playdates anymore but this was insanely long. Still, the kids didn't seem to tire of each other. They really were having fun.

Ben's dad came to get him and my own boys went out in the backyard again. I noticed Easton up super high in a tree...see him way up there?
Photobucket

He must've figured out a new route. He's never been that high before. It was a lack of branches stopping him, though...not fear. You know E...

But seriously, that fence there is an average fence...so roughly 6 feet high or so?...and Easton's, like, almost twice as high. Today I discovered a ton of broken branches on that poor tree so he's being limited to just climbing the one in the front yard now. It'll be hard for him to remember that new rule...he's part monkey, you know.

At one point I noticed something on Dalton's elbow and when I went to check it out he had a gigantic thorn from a rose bush sticking out of his arm...didn't seem to be bothering him a bit but when I took it out I was amazed. It was like acupuncture. Soooooooo long!

Eventually I packed the boys up and we went to meet Jason for dinner. We had a BOGO for Noodles and met there. The boys always eat well there. Mama too. :)

When we got home I reached back to unbuckle Easton and the chest clip on his car seat broke!
Photobucket

Photobucket

My trusty car seat pal told me this has happened to quite a few people with that type of car seat lately. And told me how to go about getting a new one so I've already ordered that, free of charge. But crazy!

Even with that bit of drama we still had some time to kill before dinner so we decided to walk up to the park as a family. Actually, the boys drove. You remember the golf cart Gramoo gave the boys for Christmas? Well back around Christmas time I remember being so annoyed that Easton was such a bad driver...that he couldn't seem to figure it out. Well, without much practice (it's been winter, after all) he now rocks as a driver. Seriously, I was soooooo impressed. And he's safe. He goes on the "turbo" mode when he's going straight but he'll switch it down to the slower mode for the turns. And he knows to stop and check with us before we cross any streets. Before we left he ran inside to grab some beverages for his brother and himself and after we warned him not to "drink and drive" he was so responsible...if they needed a sip he'd stop and they'd drink. Then start back up again. Dalton is a great little passenger. Doesn't seem to care about his turn to drive (yet!) at all.
Photobucket

We played at the park for a bit and came home for bed. Easton wanted to sleep in Dalton's bed so we played along and tucked them both in there. We bid them goodnight but said if they were too silly--which we knew they would be--then Easton would have to go back in his bed. Darn if Easton didn't try so hard. Dalton was being the rascal, giggling, and messing with Easton. Easton would whisper, "Stop...I have to go to sleep" even though he'd be giggling a bit too. At one point he turned his back on his brother to try to discourage some of the silliness. Well then Dalton stood up and Easton whispered, "What are you doing? Lay back down." He tried so hard, it made me sad that E was the one that had to get moved back to his own bed...he's just got a rascal for a brother. Oh well. We said we'd try again some day soon. Like how 'bout bunk beds?

Anyway, today has been a lovely Friday. The boys couldn't wait to get back outside as soon as they'd finished breakfast. Which Dalton had to clean up stuff he'd thrown (notice how cute he is in his backwards hat...he does it that way himself):
Photobucket

Then they went back out, Elway picked me a flower:
Photobucket

I joined them and swept our back patio. Looks nice for now. :)

Oh...and one more thing before I go. I found an outfit that I personally like more for Wabie Woy. I won't have to get a second piece to go under it so it's not only easier, it's cheaper too (by more than half) and I like it more:

Happy Earth Day!

To celebrate I've got three sleeping boys in the house right now. I can't believe it. I'm not sure what Easton's doing taking a nap, he apparently put himself in bed during quiet time. I guess he needs it but I sure hope we don't regret it later tonight. However, experience tells me we will. Oh well. I'll have to run him later to tire him out again.

Actually, getting outside later won't be a bad idea. I just need to remember to sunscreen up. Yesterday I was outside with the boys for all of 10-15 minutes and totally fried the part of my back and neck sticking out of my shirt. Of course my boys and their Cajun blood are just fine, even though they were outside even longer than I was.

We were out there planting seeds for our window garden. I've had these several times in the past but my efforts are always foiled by our foolish cat. This time I realized I have a windowsill in my laundry room where the cat doesn't really go. So as soon as E got home from school we went to work:
Photobucket

Dalton helped at first:
Photobucket

Then I guess he got tired of us correcting him so much so he planted himself in the sandbox instead:
Photobucket

Eastie and I finished up. He planted the seeds...we did basil, dill, and rosemary.
Photobucket

I explained that herbs were something you could eat and put in your foods to flavor them. He is now looking forward to a peanut butter and dill sandwich.

His favorite part of the whole experience is watering them, and lucky for him, we'll have to do that a lot:
Photobucket

The boys stayed out to play while I cleaned up and then got lunch ready before D's nap. I ended up having to wake him because he was sleeping too long. We went outside to head up to an outdoor mall but saw our favorite neighbors across the street (the only ones who speak to us). The mom (Lisa) and the oldest of the three kids (Ben) came over to chat with us so we wouldn't have to shout at one another across the street. Ben and the boys played by climbing trees, hide and seek, chase, and the golf cart. Diddles just tries to keep up. Anyway, that's when I realized I was burned. Ouch.

After we were finished chatting the boys and I packed up and drove up to one of the outdoor shopping areas. Jason can't always remember the name so he usually refers to it as, "Is that the place where Easton bus' his face?" (in the fountains last summer). They had a Gymboree I wanted to stop by since the one inside the other mall didn't have squat in the sizes I wanted. Easton got some cute new underwear that he most certainly doesn't need. That boy has an overflowing undie drawer but I was rationalizing it by saying I'd need to set some aside for Dalton (hopefully soon). Wishful thinking. Very wishful.

I also got a little somethin' somethin' for Wabie. Two somethings, actually. Darn my friend Andrea for pointing out the cute girl clothes Gymbo has. I don't go there too often, I didn't understand how to shop the sales and deals there so while I like their clothes, it's waaaaaaaaaay too pricey for my budget normally. We did go to get Easton a guitar shirt on clearance someone told me about. And found one for D too (which they ironically both wore yesterday). Anyway, Andrea is due a couple of weeks after me with her third. She's also got two boys already and is hoping for a baby girl and linked to a super sweet coming home outfit she was eyeing. That led me to look at their stuff and I fell in love with this as a potential summery coming home outfit for Wabie Wirl:
Photobucket

However, we also always planned on buying a coming home outfit for both genders so I picked out this for Wabie Woy even though I don't completely love it:
Photobucket
I'll pair it with a polo or something to fancy it up a bit. That is, if I don't find something I like more...it's a bit casual. And I hope I do find something I like more.

Jason even thinks that the girl outfit may be a bit casual but I adore it. Because I love it so much more than the other outfit I'm certain I'll have to return it once Wabie's here. :) Oh well.

After we were done in Gymboree we went to the outside play area. I had to remind the boys to stay out of the fountains as it was a little chilly yet and we had no back up clothes, yet planned to go out to dinner. They still had fun:
Photobucket

Photobucket

However the actual play area really didn't hold their attention for long and they busied themselves with other things:
Photobucket

Photobucket

After awhile it was time to go. We were meeting Jason for dinner at a restaurant where we had a buy one get one free coupon for entrees. This place also has rooftop dining and the boys were excited about that. However, we got up there and they were both punks. Until our food arrived it was a pretty miserable time. Whining and crying and throwing things and a time out in the car. Luckily it was already quite loud up there from being so crowded...also means it was quite smokey. Yuck. Everyone was better once the food arrived...guess it was just a low blood sugar thing.

We came home for a treat and baths and bed.

And Carson this morning!

Once again both boys were absolutely thrilled to see him. The second E got up he told me, "Batman is excited to get to babysitting again" and rushed in to see Carson. At one point the boys were nearly fighting over Carson so I had to move them away from the baby because they were overwhelming him. Good grief! Can't wait till we have one of our own here all the time...hopefully that kid'll be used to all the excitement. :)

Easton is going to continue to be an amazing big brother and helper. He really wanted to feed Carson today...starting with his first bottle:
Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

Man that baby is huge on my little guy's lap!

He seems roughly the same size as Dalton. D kept asking Carson to 'nuggle and seriously, they looked about the same size sitting across from one another.

We had a rather quiet morning involving playing Wii for the first time in months. It was D's idea so he got to go first while Carson and Easton looked on:
Photobucket

Now as I said, all three kids are napping and I think I'll keep doing some quiet stuff myself. Gotta run...

The Brotherly Love Continues

These pictures were on my phone from last month, but they're still cute. Both boys are sitting in the single stroller from JCPenney. They're certainly skinny enough to manage that, but happy enough too...
Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

This is also from last month, I looked back to find them both this way. Gross!
Photobucket

Anyway, we went to Wal-Mart yesterday and both boys were great. Dalton begged Bubba to hold his hand in the car so Easton obliged. We had a special idea for our trip yesterday...I gave Easton his very own list. He can't really read but once I told him what each of the 5 things was, he could remember based on the starting letters. With his list in hand he told me he was also going to get his own cart. I didn't think that was probably the best idea but I did give him the umbrella stroller as his "cart" and he was just fine with that. Actually he was planning to go off all on his own to get the things on his list while Dalton and I went to get the things on our list but when I caught him trying to eat a booger in the backseat I told him I didn't think he was quite mature enough to go off shopping on his own just yet.

Next time I'll have to make sure to write the items on his list in the order we'll actually find them in the store because he really wanted to go in order down the list. I could reason with him and explain how things were close by and we'd get the other stuff when we got there but I also liked how linear he was being (because I'm that way) and it would just make it easier. He was the cutest little thing pushing his cart through the store and loading his items into it:
Photobucket
One of the things on his list was "dirt" because I wanted to get a bag of potting soil and he said, "I might have to put that on the bottom of my cart!" but instead he had to settle for putting it on the bottom of mine. When we got to the bread I reminded him how it can easily get squished and you should've seen how careful he was...he pinched the bag like an expert with one hand and balanced the rest of the loaf on his other arm while placing it so gingerly in his "cart". Oh he was the sweetest. He was so proud of himself. Didn't need too much help either except for the cheese we needed was too high and he doesn't know which bread we get. Those kinds of things. We got so many smiles and "What a great helper you have!" compliments. The boy was beaming, it made for a VERY pleasant trip.

When we left the store I was loading the groceries into the back and Easton complained, "I don't have anything to play with" and I didn't care...shut the trunk and returned the cart. When I came back to the car he had two of Dalton's toys. Worried that he might have taken them from his brother I said, "Did your bubba give you those?" to which both boys answered with a proud, "Yes!" Dalton had handed over two of his four car toys for his brother. Awwwwwwww.

In today's news, Jason went to observe Easton's classroom this morning. He'll be done with school in a month from today so if Jason wanted to see, he needed to get in there soon. Today ended up being a good day and I had to drop them off (so I could have the car with the car seats) and apparently Jason even got to do some works with Easton. When I observed I had to sit in a chair in the corner, but Jason got to participate a bit. I haven't gotten to catch up with him too much about the morning as he had to rush off to work afterwards but it sounds like he enjoyed himself. Easton certainly enjoyed having him there!

While they were at school, Dalton and I headed up for my 20 week OB visit. Things were good...no weight gain yet. I don't think I mentioned it on the blog but those two pounds I was fretting over gaining, I lost again. So, I'm currently the exact same as my pre-pregnancy weight. Like I said last month, the doctor doesn't care yet. My BP was great at 104/62 and Wabie's heart rate was "140s" again. The big news is that the OB agreed to 09/09/09 assuming Wabie and I can hang in there till then. She explained that no matter what day they schedule me for, there's still always the chance that I'd get sick (preeclamptic) or go into labor before then because they don't schedule C-sections till the 39th week anyway. Therefore, she's alright with waiting 2 days. If it was ten she'd say no way. We're not at the point of actually scheduling it, but at least she's said okay.

I have NO idea what to expect from my body...I've never been in labor. Never even been pregnant past 38 weeks 6 days. I guess we'll see, won't we? I'm predicting a fairly sedentary last few weeks (which I don't imagine will be too hard for a big pregnant gal). And then avoiding all those potential labor inducers...squats, spicy foods, pineapple, um, "other stuff" that has been known to bring on labor... Again, for a big fat preggie in the midst of summer heat I don't think much of that will be too hard to avoid so if it's otherwise time, then it's time.

Dalton and I wandered over to L&D afterwards to see if anyone was trying to fill up the 09/09/09 slot and it was totally empty so one of my old nurse pals penciled me in "just in case". I don't think we'll officially schedule it till 28 weeks at the earliest but I'll probably bring it up at my 24 week again all the same. :)

That's the latest from our end...Bye!
