Because I am completely neurotic I rented a fetal doppler to check on Wabie. It's driving me crazy that I haven't felt it move yet...even though I'm pushing 18 weeks. Granted, I didn't feel Easton till 18 1/2 weeks but this is my third time being at this stage. With Dalton I could feel him moving at a mere 15 1/2 weeks because I knew what it felt like.
Needless to say, this has had me worried. Sometimes more than others. For instance in the middle of the night the other night I was wide awake for over an hour fretting over my as-yet-unmoving child. You should've seen how I was poking and prodding, making sure my uterus still felt appropriately gravid. Seeing if I could get that kid to move. I had dreams 3 nights in a row that I had finally felt Wabie move in there only to wake up and have it not be true. :(
So a few friends (on Facebook!) suggested I might get my hands on a doppler. Considering the other night I was ready to buy one I thought a rental was a perfect idea and ordered it that day. It arrived just before 6 o'clock yesterday and as soon as we finished dinner I ran in to check on my unborn baby.
It's alive!!! :) The heart rate was 154 last night. Easton loves to hear it too and when I turned it off he asked if we could listen some more. He even took my picture for me. :)
Now that I've confirmed the kid is alive in there and all I'll have to find something new to worry about...such as why I don't feel it moving. And don't say anterior placenta...it's not anterior and even if it was, the first two had anterior placentas and I felt them fine.
Anyway, until next time...

Glad you get to hear your little wabi!
I am so impressed at how good of a photographer E is.
E IS a good photographer! lol
Maybe that Wabie is just a really chilled-out little person. ;)
No worries! I rarely felt Kate... and Luke NEVER stopped moving! Glad all is well
Well, there are those people who don't even know they are pregnant until they deliver...so I guess sometimes you just don't feel things. Weird.
Hopefully Wabie will make a wiggle to say hello soon!
