Because It's Been a Week...

...since we've seen Dr. J I suppose we were due for a visit.

Poor Dalton.

Yesterday (Sunday) before church we noticed his "penus" (as he pronounces it) was swollen and red and yucky...and painful. We had no clue what was up so we cleaned him with a warm washcloth and slathered him in Desitin and decided to keep an eye on things. It was the same all day and by bathtime we were a little worried and planned to call the doctor today.

Morning rolls around, we get our doughnuts and eat them picnic-style next to Thomas in our new basement:

Then Dalton came upstairs and asked to watch a movie and kept crying and clutching at himself. :( So I called the doctor and if we left right then, we would make it for their available appointment.

Dr. J's face showed more concern than I would've liked to see, unfortunately. He's not exactly sure what's going on but didn't quite have the "Oh, this is no big deal face" I'd hoped to see. He's thinking a skin infection perhaps and prescribed some oral antibiotics but if he doesn't improve in a couple of days--or gets worse--then he's sending us to a urologist. A few parts of his examination seemed to trouble him a tad.

So far Dalton is still peeing, just painfully. It's really sad to see. When we've put Desitin (or Dr. J's recommended Vaseline) on him he nearly jumps off the table but he's trying to be so big and brave. I can't carry him straddling my hip...it hurts him too much. He's up in his crib right now whimpering about "me penus" because he's used to sleeping on his tummy and I'm sure that's not so comfortable right now. Poor little fella.

And since Dr. J isn't completely sure what's even up down there, he's guessing it could be mildly contagious and suggested showers for a few days for our boys who usually share the tub each night. Guess they really are made of snips and snails and puppy dog's tails:

Other than D's troubles we had a good weekend. Saturday morning we took care of some errands as a family and then I was plagued with feeling horrible "morning sickness" again all of a sudden. It was so rough. So I mostly spent the afternoon on the couch and J spent it in the kitchen brewing his first batch of beer:

Our pint-size photog took this one:

It needs to ferment for a few weeks and then it'll be ready for bottling. And sampling!

J took his kitchen time a step further and made dinner that night. Yay!

Sunday we had church. Both boys did really well at drop off. We picked up some free bagels with a coupon after church, came home and ate them and then, because Easton had done so well with drop off he got to make some cookies with me.

The best part of that whole thing was that when enjoying the cookies later, Easton actually drank milk!

He used to be a huge milk drinker--so much that we had to limit him to 32 oz. a day (which is still a ton!) because he was making himself anemic. Well, with the anemia we had to start giving iron, and iron is best absorbed with some Vitamin C...so we started giving him orange juice with his iron and he quickly lost the taste for any milk. In fact, he'd think he'd want it but it would make him gag. This has been the case for almost two years! Till Sunday, that is, with his cookies:

We even let him eat another cookie just so he'd drink more milk! :) I'm certain he won't turn into a regular milk drinker again but even with cookies I'd be happy to see it.

Sunday for dinner we went out to a Mexican place which was a mistake for many reasons, the boys didn't do great because we went out so late and then Jason and I both got upset tummies from it as well. Oh well.

That's the latest from our end! Toodles!

Poor Dizzle! That does not sound pleasant. I hope the oral ABs clear it up without a problem!

poor diddles. That breaks my heart :(

Hopefully those pills will do the trick and his "penus" will be all better!

What a sweetheart.

Poor Dalton and his penus. :( I'm glad you got it checked out today before it got any worse. I hope the pan goes away SOON!

And I totally know the excitement you're talking about, seeing a non milk drinker drink milk again. I remember blogging about it when Adam drank that cup of chocolate milk ages ago. Unfortunately, it was a one time thing for him.

And I've been meaning to ask... Does your new church have Sunday School classes? I know you drop the boys off for worship (or at least part of worship), but I was wondering if you guys were going to class in addition to that? And how that was going if you are?
