20 Down, 20 to Go

20 weeks on the 20th...that's kinda fun, eh? Well, here's me this morning, halfway to my due date:
Photobucket

Does it look like a boy or a girl in there? :) I don't have any "vibes" either way most of the time, I think I've probably programmed myself to ignore them after being wrong with Easton. But I feel roughly the same as I did with the boys. I'm carrying high like I did with Dalton. Still in my regular buttoned jeans with that high belly. Sure I've been nauseated quite a bit longer than I was with either boy but still, I feel like it's not that different. The heart rate is usually high, just like with the boys. I already have two boys...so if I was a bettin' woman, I'd wager to guess it's another one. Which I know I've said, but is still worth repeating from time to time.

Another reason is that sooooooooo many people are saying, "Maybe it's a girl" or they're "hoping" for a girl which must mean it's a boy. :) I'm trying to think of people I know personally that have 3 boys. I can only think of one family right now. The rest (at least 4 families) have 2 boys then a girl. Again, odds would say that I would help sway things towards the "3 boys" version of a family. We shall see...we're halfway there, you know.

Actually we're halfway to the due date. If you want to think that if I go to term I'll likely have my scheduled C-section in the 39th week then I'm more than halfway. If you want to think that Jason will get his dream of 09/09/09 then tomorrow would be halfway. I'm supposed to ask the doctor about 09/09/09 again at my next OB visit...we're kinda thinking that a lot of people might want to arrange that birthday and the induction/section calendar will fill up at the ol' 'spital. Wouldn't it be cool if it could be born at 0909 on 09/09/09? I doubt that would happen, though, unless some emergency with another mom came up and my surgery got pushed back a bit. I'd be all, "Wait wait...don't take it out yet!" :) Wishful thinking. Even for that birthday. It's hard to imagine the OBs letting someone go postdates but they didn't completely say no the first time I brought it up.

Anyway, enough about the pregnancy and we'll move back to the kids that are already here...

On Friday, our "snow" day, we did our best to keep busy. I mentioned Easton wanted to make cards:

I also mentioned a lot of TV and laundry. And here's Diddles completely zonin' in front of the tube:

Easton and I were feeling more intellectual and worked on his dinosaur floor puzzle:

We played "food":

And a few Toy Story characters joined us for a picnic:

That night (Friday) was movie night at E's school. The movie was "Bolt" and even though it's PG, I read the reviews and decided E could see it. So, Easton and Daddy went to that and planned to camp out in the tent in the basement that night. Diddles and I stayed home:

Apparently Easton got tired during the movie so they came home. They tried to sleep in the tent but Easton changed his mind at some point (before even falling asleep) and whispered to Jason that he just wanted to go sleep in his own bed, so that's what they did.

Saturday was another very lazy day around here. Check out Diddles' little foot up on his knee:

That night Jason bottled his beer that's been fermenting the last two weeks. Quite the involved process. Here's the beer going from it's fermenting container to the bucket where it mixes with the sugar that will make it carbonated in the bottles:

Bottling the first bottle!

All capped:

Another week or two and he'll be able to enjoy!

Sunday morning we had church. Easton was in an over-the-top amazing mood. When we were getting ready, I was in the bathroom and Jason was rounding up the checkbook and his Bible and such so Easton took it upon himself to style Dalton's hair:

They were best buds all morning:

Held hands through the house, to the garage and then in the car all the way to church:

Then again in the parking lot and through the church hallway:

Easton was even the one who walked Dalton to his class and encouraged him to go in and "Go pop some bubbles!" because one of the teachers was blowing some. Then Easton marched himself to his classroom ahead of us, re-introduced himself to a teacher and turned and thanked us for walking him to class before saying goodbye from afar. He was so big!!! It was amazing to see. Normally drop off goes nothing like that! We planned to reward him somehow after church.

Towards the end of the service Dalton's "hey we need a parent" number came up on the screen so I headed out. He was waiting for me in the lobby with two staff people (not his teachers). He wasn't really crying but sort of started again when he saw me. Then they told me that he'd been injured and another staff member was off figuring out just what had happened. He had a little bag of ice. :( Apparently he had his hands near the hinge side of a door and someone didn't know he was there and closed it on his little fingers! His middle finger was bloody and swollen and bruising quickly. Poor baby! They were very apologetic but I wasn't upset or anything. Just felt bad for my little guy.

He was grumpier than usual on the drive home but we still stopped to buy the kids a cookie to share as a special reward for Easton's above and beyond behavior all morning long. Once we got home I was able to look at D's finger a little better. I didn't think it was broken, but at the same time, if it was, I sure didn't want it to go untreated and have it heal wrong and affect him the rest of his life or anything. :) So, when he napped I called the Children's Hospital advice nurse line. Mostly I was wondering if they'd even do anything for a broken finger. She had standard questions to ask and one of my answers told her to tell me, "He should be seen within 24 hours." Okay then.

As soon as D woke from his nap I planned to take him to urgent care. It's just much easier to deal with urgent care than it is to try to call for an appointment Monday morning the second the pediatrician's office opens. Plus, I was hoping to just bring one kid but Jason was sick ever since we got home from church so I took both boys. Easton said, "Can I help Dalton be brave?" And he was once again Super Kid and asked to buckle D into his car seat:

There was (luckily!) no one else at urgent care and we got called back before I'd even finished filling out a form. The boys held hands again as we went to a room. The nurse said it was really good we were there getting it checked out based on the story but then the P.A. was like, "Since we wouldn't do anything at his age even if it was broken, I'd rather not expose him to the radiation of x-rays". But said she didn't think it was broken anyway. She did check out his circulation and stuff and told me some things to watch for like if too much blood kinda gets stuck in there and such. But for the most part the whole trip was completely pointless and I was annoyed with the advice nurse that sent us in in the first place. Oh well. Other than feeling like a dork it didn't cost us a cent and we were in and out of there in no time. The rooms had Disney channel plus a few toys in the room so the boys actually enjoyed themselves:

We got done so quickly that we were even able to swing by the park for awhile to play and give Jason more time to rest. Here's D on the way:

We had a very casual dinner which we ate in the living room in front of a Backyardigans movie and then bedtime.

This morning Jason is better enough to go to work and it was the first Monday in a LONG time that Dalton (or I) hasn't been sick so we were able to eat inside Krispy Kreme for the first time in a long time:

Seriously, how cute is this non-stop hand holding?
Photobucket

We ran to Target for a return then to the mall for another return and shopping and then home. Easton actually took a little nap (I think). He's been a grump since we've been home. Hopefully his nap will help and we can enjoy our afternoon which includes the Wal-Marting. Never want to go there with cranky kids, even if we'd fit right in. :)

Till tomorrow...

I hope Diddles finger is better. And that hand holding is just so precious. I hope they stay that close all their lives.

And you look gorgeous being half way thru your pregnancy.

Look at those brothers being so cute together!! That's what I love to see! It happens here sometimes but I think D and E take the cake!

You look amazing! Fingers crossed for 09/09/09!

You look most fantastic at your halfway mark. I still think girl. I'm just sayin...

I love love love that E "thanked" you for walking him to his class. How proper of him.

The hand holding is just over the top cute! I love precious moments like that. The other night we had dinner at some friends house and I was talking to some of the other adults and when I looked over Izzy was wiping Drew's hands and face off and then said, "now you may be excused Drew." Kids :)

Hope the finger is doing great. I guess better safe than sorry, though, KWIM?

Awww, I love how sweet your boys are being to each other. BubTar has been playing PRINCESSES with KayTar, dressing the dolls up and such, and that is the biggest act of brotherly love I've ever witnessed...he's totally anti-girl stuff.

I already mentioned it somewhere else, but you're just beautiful and glowing at the 20 week mark. And you're lucky that you carry your babies so high and can still wear non-maternity jeans. That boggles my mind as there was NO way my jeans were snapable by that point.

The brotherly love in this post is just unbelievably cute. Do the boys EVER fight with one another? I also hope they stay that close all their lives. And I hope my boys are the same way!

Lastly, is that puzzle the one Easton bought at Target a while back? Adam would LOVE it!

I hope Diddle's finger feels better soon!! What a brave little guy!

You look great Kristin! I remember you wearing those regular jeans with your previous pregnancy. There is no way I could have ever done that with either pregnancy.

I love it too when my girls hold hands. And give hugs and kissess to each other. Totally melts me.
