STILL No News

**7 p.m. Update**
My labs are in, no one at the lab will give me any results (because I didn't sign the form when I was there saying they could release them to me over the phone). The doctor's office didn't call, so I called them and as it was five till 5:00 they lazily told me, "We don't have the results, probably won't be till first thing in the morning." That's when I called the lab and know they are indeed in. Grrrr.

I tried my luck with the on-call doc tonight but the answering service won't page them for me.

Dudes, if something is "up" I'm going to be pretty pissed they made me wait. I don't even know when/if I'll hear from them tomorrow. I'm kicking myself for not signing the form. I always sign the form but this time I didn't thinking I'd be getting the results at my appointment. Boo.

I'm tempted to call and see if any of my old pals is working tonight and will look them up in the computer for me but then I'm trying to just TRY to take a step back and hope that they whole "No news is good news" bit is true this time. Really I think that it's "No news because I'm too lazy to look".

Anyway...for those of you that care, wanted to get my non-update up here. Till some other time, I guess...
**********************************************************************

I had my 30 week OB appointment this morning but my lab results weren't in yet.

The good things from the appointment:
- my blood pressure was still good and normal for me at 98/50
- Wabie is still alive with a heart rate of "140s"
- when we heard the heartbeat on the doppler the NP/PA said to the boys, "What's that?" and Dalton whispered, "An elephant." :)
- the boys were very well behaved despite having to wait in the room for the practicioner for nearly half an hour

The not-as-good things:
- no lab results other than my CBC and I think my platelets were fine because she didn't mention anything, my anemia is worse but whatever...that doesn't mean much to them just yet
- my uterus is still measuring at "28" for two weeks now. It "should" be 30 since I'm 30 weeks. She said, "We need to get you a growth sonogram" but I have those anyway, thanks to my history...my next one is in two weeks and you can really only do them every 4 weeks to really see if there's a difference. There is a possibility that it's just that different people measured me this week compared to the last two weeks, but then again, other than with Easton when there was a growth restriction problem, I can't recall that I've ever been "off" before. I'll have to look back at the blog to see with D's pregnancy (edited to add: I did look back at Dalton's pregnancy...I was always right on or even big according to these posts)

The NP/PA I saw will be out of the office this afternoon so she said she'd have the nurses watch for my labs and then have the OB on call call me later today. So, that's the latest.

The boys and I picked up Jason for smoothies afterwards and Dalton told J that they "Wistened for baby". I thought it was sweet that he reported that part on his own. So he does get it more than I thought.

Anyway, I will update more when I know more, but just a warning, it will likely be in this same post but I'll let you know it's **Updated** or something. :) Till then...

Twelve Pearls

Photobucket
Today was "Pearl's" due date. Which means it's been 8 months and a day since I lost that baby. And a year to the day that Jason agreed to try for a third child in the first place. And here I am, 10 weeks from my due date with another baby. Quite a year.

Even though I'm 3/4 of the way through (at least!) my 4th pregnancy, it still hurts that I lost a baby. These songs that are playing can bring me completely to tears even now. Luckily I find great comfort in God and His plans for me and our family. I know that Pearl wasn't meant to be a part of our earthly family and I'm hopeful Wabie is, but, to me, in no way is Wabie a "replacement" for what was lost. Wabie is part of the plan too.

As I said, I'm now 30 of the 40 weeks along. That's 75% done, people!
Photobucket
I'm in the midst of collecting another jug of wee to repeat the 24 hour urine test. The prospect of going on bedrest tomorrow is slightly scary but I'm trying to just really put it all in God's hands here. However, as a born worrier, I admit it's something I'm struggling with.

I've been feeling mostly fine...I had a headache most of the day on Saturday but my blood pressure was fine. I went to the drugstore to use one of their machines on one arm and the borrowed (faulty?) cuff from my mom on the other arm and they were actually pretty similar. But anyway, I was 90s over 60s which is normal for me. No worries there. My swelling is still minimal, if anything. I have been wondering if my morning sickness is coming back, I get slighly nauseous from time to time the last few days. Nothing like when I was smack in the midst of morning sickness a few months ago, but still, any nausea is unpleasant if you ask me. :)

It would be really weird to be feeling fine, to have normal bloodwork, normal blood pressure and still get stuck on bedrest for the proteinuria. Even though I have a history of preeclampsia, surely my caregivers are wise enough to think of other potential reasons my kidneys could be spilling protein, right? You know, before they go sticking me in bed for the rest of the pregnancy? That's me watching too much "House" right there. :) Where's my white board?

Trust me, I'll ask lots of questions if it comes down to such things. Mark my words. ;) Although some of the reasons Bing (what I should use instead of Google, given Microsoft pays my bills) finds for proteinuria are not all that attractive either...let's hope for UTI. Or maybe Copperhead snake poisioning. Actually, I think I'd remember that one, even with all my pregnancy brain issues.

Anyway, I'll update again once I know more about my labs and such. Please keep us in your prayers!

When Dalton is bare-bummed he goes in his potty 100% of the time. I let him try on some underpants this morning and he forgot and peed all over them. Then later he was in the backyard in a Spiderman costume and came in wet then too. But here on day 3 of experimenting with going diaperless, he's doing great! And, no, I still wouldn't say we're potty training. It's just, without some of this "exposure" he'd still have very little clue about potty stuff.

He doesn't seem to be able to go on command yet like if I said, "Okay we're leaving, let's go potty and then we'll put on our shoes" Easton can always produce a little something, Dalton's willing to try but has yet to succeed there. He also hasn't had to verbalize "I have to go potty" yet because his little potty is where he can get to it himself. With Easton, I remember when getting him to go at home was no problem, it was when we were out I couldn't trust him to say, "I have to go potty" but we never did have an accident while we were out. Mostly because I'm neurotic and would just take him when *I* decided he had to go. :)

Anyway, Dalton is doing so well that he even made a tiny twosie in his potty yesterday too! We called Gramoo to tell her but she wasn't there so Dalton wanted to tell "my Lauren". She was excited by that news but a little preoccupied with the Michael Jackson news, I think. Hee hee.

Last night when we were getting settled to rock before bed Dalton said, "Can I go potty?" I was very excited and also very worried about this new stalling technique. But, as this is all very new to him and I want him to try I took him to the bathroom to find that he'd just wet his diaper. Oh well. I thanked him for telling me he had to go, even if he'd already gone.

Then today he was diaperless most of the morning. He went in his potty twice, once in those underpants, and then we went to Wal-Mart where I put him in a diaper, of course. However he kept it dry and I took it off him when we got home and he made it to the potty again. That's when the boys went to play outside and I knew he'd come in with the costume wet eventually. I even saved starting a new load of laundry waiting for it. :)

But they had fun outside while it lasted...I was putting dinner in the Crock Pot and looked out the window to see Batman holding a dandilion for Spidey to make a wish on:
Photobucket

I'm just glad Dalton is still somewhat interested in the potty for now. Potty stuff is one of my least favorite parts of being a mommy. I am a lot more relaxed because the rugs are rolled up and Dalton knows to stay off the couch without a diaper. Easton even invited him up and I heard Dalton tell him, "I can't. I don't have me biber (diaper)." That's my boy!

Anyway, hopefully I'll stop talking about all this so much very soon. It's just, other than my doctor's appointment yesterday, that is really all that has been going on here lately. Maybe we'll have more things to say once the weekend is over.

Till then...

Unexpected

Going back to yesterday, the boys and I headed up to Boulder after they got done with nap/Q.T. Jason had dropped off my 24 hour urine and even though this is at least my sixth time doing such a test in my lifetime, I sorta forgot that there is blood work that goes along with it. No real worries, it could be collected within three days so we all talked about making an afternoon of it...hit the lab for the stick, head over to the Farmer's Market, then when Jason finished up work we'd all go out to eat up there.

Except that Jason forgot that the final game of the College World Series (starring LSU) would be on and we hadn't set the TiVo or anything. So, as I was walking into the lab he called to have to cancel our plans. Believe me, I was plenty frustrated but I went for my blood work and the boys and I turned right around and drove home during rush hour in the pouring down rain. Blessedly, they were in great moods:
Photobucket

Photobucket
And they were probably happier that Daddy would be bringing us home Noodles versus having to go to a restaurant.

When J got home with the take-out we sat on the bare living room floor, like we'd just moved in or something, and ate in front of the TV. And luckily the Tigers won. Jason wouldn't want to be paying off the "debts" he'd imposed on himself to "make it up to me" if they'd lost. ;)

With the floors so bare (because of D's bare bum) the boys "skated" around after dinner...E wore slippers and D sported cloth napkins leftover from dinner:
Photobucket

This morning we woke up and I left D's diaper off once again. He was standing in the kitchen and said, "Hurry! Hurry!" and ran over to his potty. Then he said, "Yook! I did it!" and sure enough he'd produced quite a bit. Hooray! That one was especially exciting because it's not like he'd been sitting there all morning watching a movie...he knew he had to go, made his way over, and went!

And just like yesterday, when I went to empty it he started yelling, "Ess mine! No, Mama! Ess mine!!!" This time I really do think it might be about the wee itself. Yikes! Bit of a dilemma. And it's not even for a #2 yet.

Speaking of twosies, the Elmo potty DVD has a segment with a bunch of kids shouting out all the names they call "what goes in the potty". Easton wanted to know what he called it when he was a baby. I said, "The same things you say now". However, he's decided that he wants us to teach Wabie to say, "Doodie". And if it's a girl, maybe also use the word "tinkle". Ah, boys. :)

Anyway, with another potty success, Nemo on the tube, and muffins in the oven, we were having a pretty nice morning. Then the phone rang...Dalton said, "I'll get it" but it was my doctor's office and I wasn't going to let him answer. This made him mad and I had to shut myself in the laundry room so I could hear the doctor amidst his tantruming. That wasn't a great sign: the doctor calling me herself instead of a nurse or secretary. Hmmmm.

So, she told me that while my recent blood work looked fantastic, the protein levels in my 24 hour urine were NOT normal. In fact, the high end cut off for "normal" regarding preeclampsia is 300. My level was 413. Lovely. She went on to say that women with my history (Easton's pregnancy) with the kidney strain/damage that went along with that sometimes just have "leaky" kidneys but she also explained that my baseline levels (which in me they check in early pregnancy) and my level at this stage in Dalton's (healthy) pregnancy was always 130s. So, most likely, it's not just the way I am or something. Great.

She asked how I'd been feeling and things like that then said that she wanted to see me this morning for an OB check and see what my blood pressure was doing. I told her I'd gotten an elevated BP reading the other night but we (Jason) tried to blame it on the heat and activity on Sunday. She said, "I'll see you soon but if your BP is elevated, I'm going to put you on bedrest."

Then I freaked out. I'm only 29 and a half weeks. I have two small kids who I like to hang out with, I have a husband, and a house. I also have very supportive family but I don't want to go on bedrest. I don't want what bedrest means for me and Wabie.

The boys and I sat down to eat (we were in a hurry at that point for my appointment) and Easton, noticing the tears in my eyes, points and goes, "What's those wet things?" Wet things? Um, how does my 4 year old not know tears? :) Actually, he does but I think seeing them coming from Mommy's eyes it disturbed him to think of them that way. Even so, I told him they were tears and he asked why. I explained that I was a little scared and he said, "You can use my Cuddles" as he handed it over. Awwwwwww. Little Diddles just kept repeating, "Poor Mama. Poor Mama."

See? I can't be on bedrest! I need my sweetiepoos!

Later, while watching Nemo on the couch while I cleaned up and sent off a few prayer requests E told me, "You're not my mom anymore" (but he said it sad, not mean) and then said, "I don't want to do anything but snuggle." I guess it's a good thing he's not used to seeing me upset, but I don't want him thinking less of me. So, we had some snuggles, got dressed and headed up to Boulder.

I was praying the whole way and doing my best to stay calm for my blood pressure's sake. Easton was not being his most cooperative self (once again!) but we made due. I got into the office and the nurse weighed me. I was the same as last week which is good in that it means I'm not likely retaining a bunch of fluid all of a sudden. Then she took my blood pressure. She was listening and then she re-inflated the cuff (freaking me out!). I was sure that she hadn't inflated it high enough to catch my high pressure...instead she was just double checking because the number she got was so low: 84/46.

Then the doctor came in and told me, "While I'm concerned, I'm not overly concerned". She checked my reflexes (hyperreflexia/clonus can be part of preeclampsia) and I assume looked at my legs for edema (I've been doing really well with the swelling, for the most part). Since I was there she also listened to Wabie real quick and measured my belly (it was 28 again...when technically I "should" be 29 but she didn't seem to care). However, I do remember this happening with Easton as well, my uterus didn't grow as much as expected and they weren't immediately concerned but we all know what happened there...

So, the plan is for me to repeat the 24 hour urine from Monday to Tuesday (that'll be exactly a week from my last collection) and then to repeat my bloodwork on Tuesday before my regularly scheduled 30-week appointment. She said, "Hopefully it's just a fluke" about the proteinuria but if my protein level goes up she said she'll probably start treating me as a preeclampsia patient no matter what my blood pressures do. :( Being treated as a pre-e patient means bedrest and twice weekly non-stress tests on the babe. So, please join us in praying that it was just a fluke although she did say that, no, nothing I ate or drank could've skewed these results. And as I mentioned, my bloodwork labs were fine, let's pray those stay that way too, please.

I know God has a plan and I'm trying my best to just find comfort in that. Pray for that too, would ya, you know...while you're at it? ;)

Anyway, thanks for tuning in. Off to "take it easy" as per my doctor's instructions this morn.

More Potty Talk

First we'll go back to gymnastics yesterday afternoon. Easton was a total spaz. I was embarassed. I kept hearing his teachers having to correct him, I like his name and all but not when his teachers have to keep repeating it all exasperated-sounding because he's doing something "wrong" again. He was having a hard time sitting still, he'd lay on the floor instead, or bang his head on the mat behind him, he started to take a turn when the teacher said it was another kids turn, when the teacher told them to jump across the floor he thought it would be hilarious to run.

We had a talk about it after class, I told him I expected him to always listen to his teachers and that if he didn't want to take fun classes then I could always sign him up for, "How to Eat Meat" lessons. That rascal better do a lot better next week. I think with the sun being up so much lately he's not getting his best sleep...just because he's quiet in his room doesn't mean he's sleeping and I think it's wearing on him a bit. Afternoons just aren't our best time most days anymore. Not that he needs a nap, just that he gets kinda rowdy and his "listening ears" get tired.

Anyway...

On to last night. Dalton was in the bathroom nakey before bathtime and was thinking about maybe sitting on the potty but started to go a bit on the floor. I got him to stop and then he finished on the potty. He's done this once before, I believe, but this time it was much more than a few dribbles into the toilet. He was really proud of himself, as were we. He got M&Ms and a sticker and I wanted to re-inforce some of what he'd learned...not potty training so much, but really just exposing him to all of it.

So, this morning once we came downstairs I rolled up the rugs kept his butt nakey all morning. He was very willing to sit on his potty, just like it was a seat.
Photobucket
He even "produced" 3 smaller times and 1 real big time. It's been very exciting. So he has 4 stickers...he put one on his forehead. He's napping now and it's still there. :)

He's been really proud of himself and knows when he's going which is sort of the whole point of keeping the pants off. Here he is pointing at his biggest success (still just #1s, though):
Photobucket

At that point I went to empty it into the big potty and he started crying and getting mad. I was thinking, "Uh oh, is he gonna be one of those that thinks "it" is a part of him, because he made it?" but no, turns out he was just mad that I took the potty apart.

We even went outside to play in the backyard for a little bit, I brought the potty out and he ran over to sit on it a few times but mostly just wanted to play. And that's where his interest in potty stuff seemed to end for today. He was determined to hold it, I think. Actually, that's another great skill to have. He let loose during his lunch. I had a towel in his booster seat and he didn't mention anything but I noticed he'd soaked it when I went to clean him up from his lunch. Oh well.

I'd say today was a good enough introduction and I'm fully prepared that he might not even be willing to sit on a potty again for another 3 months. I hope that's not the case, of course, but sometimes that's just how it goes with two year olds, eh?

It's Gonna Be a Bright, Sunshiney Week

And HOT to boot...90s all week. Which is fine...because it's summer now. And summer should be hot, Colorado is just confused sometimes is all. Or maybe it was God waiting so that the boxes of shorts two wonderful friends sent to rescue me had time to arrive. Maybe both. :)

Anyway, we're really enjoying ourselves today. And yesterday, actually. I'd mentioned how I took the boys to the cool park and they played in the sprayers for a bit. Well, in the afternoon, we took Easton to piano class and then Dalton and I walked right back over to that very same park for some more fun in the sun...and this time I remembered my camera:
Photobucket

Photobucket

Easton did really well yet again at class. I'm liking that he's been doing such a great job separating from me lately. Hope it continues when school starts again...and then when Wabie arrives too that he's not all shaken up and thinking we'll forget about him or something.

Anyway, today was forecasted to be another scorcher like yesterday. But it's also nearing the end of the first strawberry picking season here and darn it, I was determined to go. They're only open for picking on Tuesdays and Saturdays this summer and the last two Tuesdays we couldn't go. And I'm not about to go on a Saturday. So, right after breakfast (which we ate outside!) we headed over to the strawberry patch. The boys were very very excited. It starts with a tractor pulling a wagon full of people out to the fields...Easton decided to sit backwards for a better view:
Photobucket

Photobucket

Then we got out there...I couldn't believe how well both boys did with staying close by, picking (mostly) fully ripe berries, not eating TOO many so we'd have some to bring home. And Easton did a fantastic job helping his brother out, "Oh look Dalton--there's a nice red one!" so D could pick it. Or, "C'mon Dalton, let's go over here to look". He was even de-stemming the berries so his brother could snack on them. (Dalton has a tendency to eat the entire berry when left to his own devices.)

Sweet berry picking boys:

Showing off some juicy berries:

And can't resist tasting quite a few:
Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

"Hey, can you put your arm around your brother for me?"
Photobucket
Um, not exactly what I had in mind but whatever. :)

We picked and picked and picked. I'm glad I made the call to go during this first strawberry season of the summer because dudes, it was hard enough with all that squatting and heat and my belly and such. In late August when they'll ripen again I will NOT be participating. :)

We finally got our fill of berries and headed back for a tractor ride back up to the barn. The boys checked out the farm a bit:
Photobucket

Poor Dalton's expression!
Photobucket

We paid for our 3.5 pounds of berries, stopped for one last picture (which I just LOVE)...
Photobucket
...and then headed for home. I was roasting out there and it was only, like, 75 degrees at the time. Hmmmm. Kinda sad. We drove home talking about the strawberry cake we're planning to make. Nummy nummy.

And again, even though it's nowhere near 90 degrees right now the boys were feeling a bit toasty too so we turned on the sprinklers for them to cool off in:
Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

They ran around but mostly thought it was too cold. I made lunch and we ate it outside...of course we had a big bowl of strawberries with it!
Photobucket

Now the boys are in their rooms and I'll have to start on the cake. I'm a little afraid of turning on the oven on such a hot day but I think it'll be worth it later. Or I hope it will. AJ has highly recommended this Strawberry Shortcake Cake so we'll give it a shot. Let's hope my preggo brain allows me to remember all the ingredients this time.

Later this afternoon we've got gymnastics. Gosh, I love summer. The hardest part is thinking of what to eat for dinner and finding time amidst all this fun to go buy the food and time to prepare it!

Monday, June 22, 2009

This is the Day...

...that we found out we were expecting for the first time--5 years ago. And it's also the day that we confirmed baby #2 was on his way 3 years ago. If #3 was still in the picture I would be 39 weeks today...instead I'm 29 weeks with pregnancy #4.

How's that for S family fertility history? :)

So, all kinds of things to catch up from the weekend once again. I left you all on Friday afternoon with plans of making something to bring to our first small group meeting that night. I decided on coconut bread and went to make it. A few hours after I'd baked it I looked at it only to realize: I forgot to put in the eggs!!! I was fretting a bit and ultimately decided to run out for another box of mix to try again. However, I didn't allow myself much time doing it that way and so when we were rushing to get it out of the pan to bring to small group, it broke in the middle and so the bottom of the loaf was still stuck in the pan and the top was free. Oh well. I wrapped it up and brought it that way.

Small group was interesting. For one thing, there seemed to be way more kids there than mathematically made sense with the number of adults. They were noisy so they all got sent outside to play. For another thing, the group doesn't even meet till 7 p.m. and that's when we typically head upstairs to start our bedtime routines here at home. So, it was a late night for the boys. We met some nice people and then they jumped into the "discussion" part of the evening and for a special treat, they'd invited one of the associate pastors from the church to lead things. Easton came in quite a few times to interrupt (sweetly remembering to take off his shoes and put them by the front door every time) and another time he came in to go potty and didn't bother to close the bathroom door. :) But overall it was an alright time. Just a little long. They usually "discuss" till 9:00 and then move into the kitchen for the snacks and refreshments portion of the evening. Someone thought my coconut bread was corn bread and poured a bunch of bean dip over the top in their bowl. Ick!

Easton was exhausted and was laying on the couch with strangers. Dalton was getting grumpy. We left before anyone else did, even though others had young kids as well, but our boys are just not used to such a late night at all. We had to get them home! And as usual, when they get to bed late, they wake up super early. Sure enough...Easton was up at 6:00. He went to use the potty and I happen to know he never went back to sleep. Even though he was quiet in his room till 7:00 he never slept again. 9:30-6:00 is just not enough sleep for him.

So Saturday he was a bit of a grump.

We grabbed bagels for breakfast. I particularly liked Dalton's cream cheese 'stache and soul patch:
Photobucket

At 10:30 we had E's t-ball game.
Photobucket
He was kind of a wonk about it all this week, we think because he was soooooooo tired and out of sorts. Here's just a few highlights from what I mean:
Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket
He was clearly just distracted, he wasn't hustling quite the same as the week before. But he was still our little slugger. Here is an action shot (look at that face!) as he's finishing his swing:
Photobucket
And with that, he got a "home run"...actually it was even a grand slam as he was the last batter on his team so he and all the other kids already on base got to run the bases before they took the outfield. Easton even passed one of the runners on his own team on his way to home plate. :)
Photobucket
Goob!

The other team was highly amusing. They all showed up with eye black under their eyes and the entire team took this "ready" position anytime one of our team was up to bat. So cute!
Photobucket

Gramoo and Lauren and Gramoo's giant hand clapper came to cheer E on this week.
Photobucket

And there's Daddy! Oh wait, that's just my Diddlebug thinking he's being Daddy. That smile!
Photobucket

We invited Gramoo and Lauren over for some lunch afterwards. I asked them if they could stop and pick up some chips at the store and they brought back 5 different kinds!!! So we had grilled cheeses, a buffet of chips, and apple slices. They left so we could see about getting both kids to nap after such a crappy night of sleep. E didn't but D and I sure did!

I know J did yard work in the afternoon but I can't think of what else the day held for us.

Sunday morning was, of course, Father's Day! For the first time since teaching D the "night light trick" he woke up before 6 a.m. crying but I went in and told him, "Uh oh, your light isn't on yet." and he actually laid back down on his pillow and went back to sleep for an hour and a half! Good for him, not good for me, I was up for the day. I let J sleep in a tiny bit for Father's Day but we couldn't let it go on too long because we were still planning to go to church. Once both kids were up they got in bed with J to wish him a Happy Father's Day!
Photobucket

We dove right into some gifts as we didn't have a lot of time to spare with the half hour of sleeping in:
Photobucket
He got a few new summer clothes. Doesn't he look thrilled?

And when I asked Easton awhile back what he thought we should get J for Father's Day his first idea was "a costume". Then he said, "a Transformers movie". However, when I told him that those were things he wanted, not necessarily his Daddy he came up with "a picture frame". I thought that was an okay idea because some of the moms I know online were doing a fun idea for Father's Day:
Photobucket
It's for J's office at work:
Photobucket

Once he'd opened it I was able to tell him that Walgreens hassled me about them potentially being professional pictures!
Photobucket
Ha ha ha!!! I think it's especially funny as the windowsill took the picture of my belly (with the camera on timer) and also because when I printed some pictures of the boys back around Christmas that were done by someone calling himself a professional, they didn't say a thing. Hee hee!!! I don't even have a good camera. I think it's the black background? Anyway...guess I should've sent one of these over to Walgreens as proof they were done at home:
Photobucket

Jason's final gift was some plans for the day...first he pulled out a bag of peanuts, then some Cracker Jacks, then some cheapie seats to the afternoon's Rockies/Pirates game:
Photobucket

But first we had to have breakfast (we got Jason some Cocoa Pebbles as a treat) and then we were off to church. Both boys made a little something for their daddy while they were in Sunday school. Dalton came home with his traced handprint taped to a popsicle stick. He kept calling it a "high five". :)
Photobucket

And Easton made J a special card:
Photobucket

We came home for some lunch and to change clothes and then we were off to the Light Rail station to catch the train into downtown. The boys were really excited about the train ride but I didn't take any pictures of it. Oops.

Then we got to the game. It was hot and the kids don't care so much about watching a game. It was Dalton's very first game:
Photobucket

Easton's third:
Photobucket

And what we learned was that I've been to a Rockies game during E's, D's and now Wabie's pregnancies. I don't go to games often so it's kind of a funny coincidence. It was a hot day sitting in the direct sun. We ate snow cones and drank squishees and squirted the kids with a mister we brought from home. As this is my first time having a belly in warm weather I also experienced some interesting sweat patterns for the first time. Embarassing to have the obvious marks in between the belly/boob shelf. Lovely.

We eventually stripped the boys of their shirts completely:

We stayed through the 7th inning stretch when they sing, "Take Me Out to the Ballgame" and then headed back to the train for home. The kids still hadn't caught up properly on their sleep from small group Friday night and the heat and activity just really took it out of them. They were wiped:

We even let them snooze in the car in the garage for a bit when we got home.

Jason thought a sandwich sounded good for dinner so he browsed some menus online while the boys slept and then they woke up, came in to chill on the couch and I went to pick up our sandwiches.

That was our day so I hope he had a nice Father's Day!!!

This morning the boys were both up as soon as they were "allowed" (and they both waited again). It's doughnut day so we did that and then I felt like taking them to the park before it got too hot. We're expecting it to be 92 today. We got to the "cool park" and their fountains/tiny splash pad was actually operating and the boys got distracted by that, fully clothed, before they made it to do any playground playing. It wasn't even 70 degrees yet this morning but they both got themselves fully soaked having a blast. I eventually decided it was time to go when they were too shivery (but still having fun) and I had dry underwear and a dry diaper in the car but they rode home otherwise nakey. Easton usually does his own buckles in the car and knows where his chest clip should be and this time said, "Well, now I can tell where my nipples are!" because that's about where he should clip it. Ha ha! I guess the other times he buckles it he's just guessing. :)

Anyway, we came home for some TV, some dancing (E asked for disco music) and I went through a bunch of coupons finally.

We're not venturing too far from home today (at least not for any length of time) because it's also the day I'm doing the always-exciting 24 hour urine collecting. Good times.

And now you're all caught up....maybe even more than you wanted to be. :)
