Children's Meds Deal
The other day I typed up my Tylenol/Motrin savings from Walgreens for AJ and I thought I'd share it here for the fellow mommies I know...
Tylenol and Motrin is on sale at Walgreens THIS WEEK (through Saturday) for $4.99 a bottle. I bought 3 bottles (1 Children's Tylenol, 1 Children's Motrin, 1 Children's Tylenol Cold)
$4.99
x 3
-----
$14.97
Then you print 3 of these coupons for Tylenol here or Motrin here to get another dollar off each bottle. You can only print 2 of each coupon per computer so either combine like I did or print from separate computers somehow.
Anyway that gives us...
$14.97
-$3.00
------
$11.97
Then, Walgreens has a little booklet of coupons near the door called the "Easy Saver" catalog. You can click here to see it if you want but you don't have to. Just pick one up at the door when you go in. The beauty of Walgreens is that you can do what I've learned is called "stacking". You can stack a store coupon with a manufacturer's coupon for even more savings. See why this is so exciting???
Anyway, inside the Easy Saver catalog there is a coupon for $1.50 off Tylenol. You can use that one copy of the coupon for all 3 of your bottles. In my case it was for 2 since I had one Motrin. In my humble opinion, you must have Motrin for your kids for the anti-inflammatory purposes, not just pain relieving. It's so great with teething especially. And my silly kids need both Tylenol on top of Motrin to break a fever. Anyhoo...
$11.97
-$3.00 (from the Easy Saver coupon for 2 of the bottles)
------
$8.97
obviously if you don't share my affinity for Motrin you could get $4.50 off the 3 bottles of Tylenol)
That right there is already a great deal: it ends up being just $2.99 a bottle if you get the Motrin. If you got just Tylenol it'd be $2.49 per bottle. Wal-Mart has them for almost $8/bottle.
But wait, there's more!!!
When you buy 3 of those "qualifying products" such as the Tylenol, Motrin, and others (see your weekly ad if you really care) then the register spits out $5 of something called "Register Rewards" that you can use like cash on your next Walgreens purchase of basically whatever! And somehow I got a bonus $2. So, I'm looking at it like I got $7 off that purchase. That's $1.97 for 3 bottles of medicine or 66 cents each!!! If you'd done all 3 as Tylenol it'd be even less!!!(Assuming you get the bonus $2 Register Reward to print, that is.)
And if any of you love Sweet Tomatoes like we do...I just got this coupon in my email the other day for Buy One Adult Lunch or Dinner and two drinks (you must try their strawberry lemonade, it's the best around) and then you Get One Free. You can't use it on the weekends and it expires October 9. But here you go if you want.
And that wraps up my bonus post.
I likely will not be making such posts a habit, but since I already sort of did the work spelling it out for AJ...

You are awesome....'nuff said. :)
See, my head already hurts. Coupons, stacking, booklets...ack. I just a buy a bottle of generic Motrin and be done with it. It usually expires before it gets used up by BubTar anyway. KayTar has to get hers from the magical pharmacy, which is like $35 a pop.
But I think it is cool you can organize and execute this stuff! I kind of wish I had the patience for it.
I love it! Thank you for spelling it out step by step.
Gosh I always think I need to be doing this stuff too but never get around to it. I like you breaking it down for me. I am so coupon ignorant.
