Last night we went out to dinner. Yippee! Gas has finally gotten so low again here that when I last filled up I didn't even hit $30. So to celebrate we decided to spend our money elsewhere and wanted some steaks. So we headed to Texas Roadhouse to get some.
The boys (especially Easton) love to crack open the peanuts they have at all the tables. He must've filled up on those because he didn't touch his mac and cheese for dinner. Instead he played with the 10 month old behind us. Yet again he was great with the little guy and kept calling him "Baby" and doing things to get him to smile and laugh. Later he decided, "I want to call him 'Cutie'" and he did.
He also named our waiter "Tanuary" which is how he thinks you say "January". I said we needed something from our waiter and that's when he said, "I want to call him Tanuary. Let me call him" and then burst out with a very loud yell a la Xena the Warrior Princess or something. It was loud but funny and I shushed him right away. Silly boy.
The boys did a little better with their wake up times this morning. Whew. Easton has been being quiet till 7:00 like he's supposed to but he's been calling the second the clock flips over so I know he's been awake. But not today, that was nice. Even though I keep waking up early early.
We made muffins together this morning and hung out for a bit before going to gymnastics. Dalton is getting harder and harder to keep happy while we wait for Easton. Plus I've got a few people I like to chat with rather than chase him constantly. I think that annoys one mom in particular...at some point she told me, "He's getting away!" and I was like, "Lady, I'm watching him, I'll get him if he goes too far." Sheesh. And I didn't say that...I got up and got him so she wouldn't get her knickers all in a twist.
Instead of going straight home we went over to the bookstore instead and picked out a book for our friends for a gift, while I did that while the boys played at the train table. Easton was getting frustrated with some of the younger kids there that kept taking "his" trains. I told him that he was the oldest one and he'd have to show them how to share, blah, blah, blah. Eventually he got so upset that he was shouting, "That boy is not nice! I want him to go home!" Instead we went home...immediately. We had a talk about that, of course, and he was saying, "That boy doesn't know how to share!" and I said, "You're right, he doesn't. He's a baby and he still has to learn but YOU know how, even if it's hard to do sometimes. Those aren't even our toys, the store shares them with us." And gave him some ideas of what he could say and do differently next time. Golly. Ha! Easton actually said that in the car today: "Oh golly." I have NO idea where he got that one. He said from Lauren. But Lauren does not say that that I've ever heard.
Anyway, I guess I should wrap this up. I'm not sure what we might have planned yet for this weekend but I'm sure we'll come up with something.
I should go get E out of his room and put him in my room now. Toodles!

It is awesome that gas prices are dropping.
We are having some issues with the sharing thing here. It sure is hard to help a toddler/preschooler understand that.
I hope you guys have a great weekend.
I love the lower gas prices. Not a great statement on the economy, but an appreciated trickle down nonetheless.
Oh golly! That's so funny. It always cracks me up when one of my kids say something random like that.
We love TRH too. The kids love to play with the peanuts!
