I was going to skip blogging today in lieu of a nap. I even got to snooze for 20 minutes or so until Mr. E woke crying after just 35 minutes. He went back to sleep but, alas, I did not...I'm sitting here instead with a Coke and a smile ready to ramble on to all of you. Lucky ducks.
So? Hmmmm...yesterday after E's nap he asked to wear his fireman hat:
It sits on a shelf in his room and is always visible but he seemed to have forgotten about it until first thing after he woke up. The kid has a hat thing lately...except of course for the new winter hat (and mittens) we bought him. Even though he liked them and wore them in the store and at home, when he actually needs them he won't wear them. Shoot.
We also did our Wal-Mart run yesterday. He is really the best shopping toddler I can imagine. I think it helps that we try to time it right too...as in, we couldn't go the day before due to his poopy mood. I don't know what I'll do with two of them, though. Eek! One poor woman yesterday drug a cart with a toddler behind her while pushing twins in a double stroller. Um, no thanks. I'll shop at night after they're in bed. Yowsa.
Easton and Jason had swimming last night too:
The skill of the day was kicking which Easton is already a master of so they asked what skill we missed last week and it was blowing bubbles. So they worked on that for a bit. Click here for video. The skill the night I took him was back floating. A tough one for little ones, apparently.
We rushed home after class trying to get Easton in bed as close to his 7:45 time as possible. I was really proud of myself. I planned ahead and made chicken in the Crock Pot--dumped a can of cream of mushroom soup over 2 breasts--the easiest meal I think I've ever "made" and then just before we left for class I set some rice to steam and opened a can of seasoned green beans to heat up the second we walked in the door. Literally it was the second I walked in...I was still holding the wet towels and all. I had fed Easton before class but had a small plate of cheese, crackers, and pears waiting for him to munch while we ate. We had already picked up the toys before class so we were actually able to have him in bed at exactly 7:45. Yay us!
Apparently Easton didn't want us to get too excited because he was up before 7 again today and boy was he a grumpus again. I was tempted to put him back in his bed. Yeesh. No fun and I felt like I might cry if it continued all day so I had to come up with a plan: fill him up with foods he'll eat a lot of and get him out of the house. So we made a doughnut run and a McDonald's hash brown run and it worked. Yippee! We spent the morning at home playing with a box:
Then it was nap time for all and danged if the tot isn't up again right now asking for me in there. Darn...better run! TGIF!

I really look forward to john and wren doing swimming together. I will go to take pictures and videos as well.
Mealtime is all about the plan isn't it? Good for you for having it together. What a great mama and wife you are.
And shopping with a tot is all about the timing. Wren is all about touching everything when we shop- I mean everything!
It looks like the shipping box could be just as important as the gifts we send. I'll have to pay more attention to that.
