Christmas Eve Eve

Just one picture for today...

Obviously not much has happened since I blogged last night. This morning I went up to Boulder to get my labs drawn. I also started collecting the always exciting 24 hour urine. We'll drop it off tomorrow morning before we head to a Christmas Eve brunch at my moms. Okay, now I'm gonna get all medical for a minute. Feel free to tune out if it's too much or you only come for Easton updates. I have my lab results from this morning back...the doctor hasn't called but I know what the "normal" range is for these tests. First of all...my anemia is already slightly better. When I had my glucose test done they checked me for anemia at the same time, remember? And I had to start iron supplements, ringing any bells? Well, anyway, back then my hematocrit was 35.5. Today it was better at 36.7 and according to my lab that's the cutoff for "normal". Not that this has anything to do really with my potential preeclampsia...just letting y'all know. Okay, moving on...absolutely everything I know to check was well within the normal range still. Yay! Nothing even registering around "borderline". Of course, at this stage in Easton's pregnancy I didn't even have these labs drawn so I don't have anything to compare it to other than at the end when I had HELLP syndrome. Even then, it progressed so rapidly that the lab values changed drastically in a matter of hours. Anyway, with Easton one of my lab values (the LDH a.k.a. lactate dehydrogenase, if you care) was the highest my OB had ever seen. The norm is 322-620, today mine was 362 but right around my C-section with Easton it was 4206. Eek! Seriously, today everything was totally within range so no immediate problems which is always good. I think the most helpful results right now will actually be the 24 hour urine, that might be a good indication of the way things could be heading. Alrighty then, I'm done with the med speak...

Back to the Christmas festivities...in the past we've always had brunch at my mom's house on Christmas Day and then dinner at my grandparent's house that night. In my family, dinner is at dinner time (5-6ish). None of this 2 o'clock business. Anyway, now that we have Easton and he won't nap anywhere other than at home and add to it all the fact that we live about 45 minutes from both my mom and grandma we weren't looking forward to all the driving. So, this year my mom suggested a Christmas Eve brunch and Jason and I jumped all over that idea. Now Easton can have a leisurely Christmas morning here at home, checking out all his new toys and such, then he can have his nap and we can go to dinner with everyone later. Lovely!

Now that I'm home from my labbing, Jason headed out to finish his shopping. Poor guy. I wouldn't want to be out shopping today. I didn't even like the traffic out there today. I'm glad to be at home in front of my blog while the little dude tries to have a nap.

Anyhoo that's all that's floating around in my head for today other than the 7th and final Harry Potter book title was released: Harry Potter and the Deathy Hallows. No official release date but there's British rumors of it being 07-07-07. We'll just have to see about that. Can't wait! And with that, I'm really done! Adios!
