Oh how I wish so many of you lived closer...we'd love for Adam and Wrenny and Katie and Julia and Amelia and Owen and Aeryn and Kate and Livie and all our online pals (I hope I'm not forgetting anyone that I know reads my blog) to be able to come to Easton's party. If any of our online buds lived within even 50...100 miles, I'd send you one of these:
I made it to look like this DVD cover:
Had to throw Tato Head on their though as he's such a fave 'round here.
So far we have just one "official" RSVP. We invited 6 other kids--only one girl!--plus their families. We'll see what happens. I did a pre-invite survey of our potential party pals to see what day worked best for the majority so hopefully we'll get at least a few more party go-ers. Easton is sooooo excited for his Toy Story party at Chuck E. Cheese. He talks about it all the time and tells us, "It's me birthday very soon."
In the line at Wal-Mart yesterday another kid (about 6 or 7 years old)
asked him, "How old are you?" To which he answered the standard, "Two and half" and then surprised me by adding, "But I'm almost 3 on me birthday." Spoken like a true almost 3 year old.
Three years. Wow. Let's see...three years ago around this time...well, lets just look at a few journal entries, shall we?

I had to work today. Christmas Eve and Christmas were my holidays this year. I had to work as a PCA (nurse aide) today, not a secretary as usual. When I got to work, everyone was commenting on how swollen my face was. They were checking my ankles and shins for what they call “pitting” edema. They made me check my blood pressure, too. It was 133/85. Not too bad, really, but it’s higher than I had been. At my 24 week visit, my BP was 96/60. They had me check my urine with a dipstick on Labor and Delivery to see if there’s any protein in it: a sign of pre-eclampsia. There IS a little protein so the nurses sent me home on bed rest and ordered me to call my doctor about it. I took a big jug home to collect my urine for 24 hours just in case the doctor orders it. She did.
Mom came over for dinner. We had frozen lasagna as I haven’t unpacked the kitchen stuff yet.

Christmas Day. I am 31 weeks pregnant. I didn’t have to work today thanks to my potential PIH (pregnancy induced hypertension). We did drive into Boulder in the afternoon, though, to drop off my 24 hour urine collection jug. Then we drove to Mom’s where I sat around and drank lots of water like I’m supposed to. Tonight the doctor called and says the protein level is borderline.

I went in for a visit with Dr. Jill Siegfried. My blood pressure was okay and the urine dipstick didn’t reveal ANY protein. She says I don’t have to be on bed rest but to take it easy (no unpacking the new house) and I could keep being a secretary at work as it was pretty sedentary. My legs, hands, and face are still quite swollen. Even just sitting around. I have to go back to see her next week since things are so borderline. I will continue to take it very easy and monitor my blood pressure at home with the cuff Mom loaned me. Today my pressure at the office was something or other over 82.
Ooooh, wow...kinda neat looking back on everything. This is me 3 years ago...bedresting on the couch with Blitz...the closest thing I had to a baby just yet.
How times change.

I wish we could come!! Those invitations are AWESOME, Kristin. You did a great job. I especially love the "Yeah right, like I'd put that here for you." part. ;)
3 years! Craziness. I'm so glad Eastie's here and healthy.
That invitation totally ROCKS!!!! Love it! I wish we could go! Mia LOVES "Story" as she calls it. Plus it would be fun to meet you guys! *sigh* I seriously believe we will all meet.
How fabulous is that invite?! Livie and I would totally RSVP YES--what a cool looking party!
I still get chills when I think of all you and baba Easton went through. Looking at him now, no one would have ever guessed he had such a rocky start.
The invitations are too, too cool. Heck, if we were even 200 miles away, we'd probably still try to come. I'm sure it will be lots of fun!
I inadvertently gave Easton a new nickname of "baba". :) Meant to say baby.
You did a fabulous job on the invitations. I hope Easton has a wonderful party.
