I'm as pregnant today as I was the day Easton was born.
So, actually, at this moment (in the afternoon) I'm even more pregnant than I was when Easton was born since he was born in the morning. :)
And oh how these pregnancies are different... hooray!
When Easton was born I'd gained at least 28 pounds and that was having lost 10 pounds in the first trimester. Most of the weight was from swelling towards the end, but still... With Wabie now I'm still right around 15 pounds total gain...yesterday was a little more, today was a little less. My blood pressure is still perfectly normal for me this time around too. Yippee!
While it's not been quite as carefree a pregnancy as Dalton's was, I'll gladly take every day we can get.
It's a little crazy to think about a baby even coming right now. What does a 33 week and 1 day old baby look like? Funny you should ask...
Maybe it's just my Mama Vision, but Easton does not look all freaky preemie-like to me...he just seems small, but what do I know? I'm his mom.
But speaking of freaky...I was certainly looking less than amazing myself:
Just look how swollen my face is...my cheeks, my chin(s)...it almost hurts when I look at those. I think I can safely say that, while I do have some swelling going on currently, it is nothing like that. Yowsa!
Anyway, it was really kinda fun to go back and look at these pictures of newborn E. Dalton said, "Awwww, wook at Wabie!" and I told him it was Baby Easton. We do not look at pictures of them from long ago very often (at all!) so it was kinda fun to show them what newborns look like and to show them the umbilicial cords they both had that they've heard so much about with Wabie. We also looked at Baby Dalton pictures and even his delivery since Easton is so fascinated with how it'll all go down. They loved it. And that made me want to share some video from Easton's first day on earth just to gain some thirty three weeks perspective. :) This is before he is "sick". This was a happy, healthy day for him--I was the sick one on this day. It's the next day that Easton crashed and was all of a sudden "sick". :( Most of you will find this quite boring but the grandparents might enjoy the trip back in time...

Oh, that little cry baby E had just pulls at my heartstrings. Adam thinks he is soooooo cute. :)
Hmm, that comment sounds like I'm calling E a cry baby. I should have worded that a little differently, I guess.
Tiny precious little boy. Look how far he's come. What a miracle!!! I always thought preemies looked like salamanders and I said that to you when I didn't think Easton did, and you said we just had our maternal filters...that he probably did look like a salamander. You're right now. It wasn't so!
PRECIOUS! I don't think I've ever seen the pics from when E was born. What a perfect little guy!
Easton was a very healthy looking preemie! I love his cheeks and his cry. I remember when Seth was born, I thought he looked like a little monkey. He was so hairy, skinny and long. No body fat on him at all like E did.
man you make good looking babies! Usually newborns are not all that cute but yours are so handsome!!
:)
It breaks my heart and makes me so happy seeing him as a newborn.
I have some of pics of him I took with my cell phone in the NICU, and those are just so hard to see still.
Give that baby a big kiss from his Aunt Jess. Keep growin that Wabie. Y'all are doing so great!
XOXO
Nope, it isn't just you, he doesn't have the distinct preemie look, just a kind of smallish newborn look.
Sweet little Eastie!
I was thinking the very same thing you were about how good E. looked at birth, even at 33 and 1! Luke, (at 31 and 3) came out looking like a mixture of a spider monkey and an old man! Poor baby! And SO red! But I loved him just the same!
I am so happy to hear that your pregnancy is going well and you are staying healthy! What a blessing!
Hard to believe it has been around 4 1/2 years since our first born came into this world. And I agree too..he was a very healthy looking premmie.
When I saw you had posted a video, I thought it was going to be the one of E with the song "Your my Son" (I can't remember the title exactly). I still remember that video and how tears were streaming down my face when I watched it.
Here is to a happy and healthy +/- 7 more weeks! Maybe that 9-9-9 due date will stil be a possibility :)
