Disney World: Day 7 -- 3 Parks for Our Last Day

Our last day. We started with breakfast in the resort's food court. The kids had mini Mickey waffles and bacon...Jason had beignets...I had an omelette. Jason had to take Dalton back to the room to put some medicine on the eczema that was bothering Dalton and I took the other two to figure out how many meals and snacks were left on our plan so we could be sure to use them all up that day. The man that helped us gave the kids some Mardi Gras beads just because:

And then we were on our way...our first stop was Hollywood Studios:

We wanted to finish up a few things we'd missed: the Disney Playhouse Live on Stage show and the Beauty and the Beast show. But Dalton saw they had pirate face painting. Waaaaay back when it was time to make our dining and haircut reservations in May, I'd asked the boys if they wanted to get pirate makeovers. They have the Bibbidi Boppity Botique for little princess (and apparently prince) makeovers...but you have to be 3 so Autumn couldn't do it this trip. But they also have the Pirates League and I'd asked the boys if they'd want to do it. At the time, they said no. But then it came up again and both of them wanted to do it, but of course there were no spots available at any point in our trip. :( But Dalton thought the face paint (for a mere $12) was just as good and hopped right up for his pirate look:

I wanted Autumn to get something too but I wasn't sure she'd sit still for it. The painter (from Colorado!) said, "Why don't you let me try?" and Autumn did great for her $8 flowery forehead...and sparkly lipstick:

Easton was being really weird that morning. We weren't sure what was up with him but he didn't want his face painted, which was fine. We checked and double checked but he was being strange:

So the little two enjoyed their paint:

And Easton was still out of sorts:

We headed to the Playhouse Disney show which mostly for D and A:

I was enjoying Autumn and her silly posing while we waited for the show to start:

Arrrrrrrr!

Eastie started coming around a bit:

After that we got some popcorn with a snack credit (we had lots to use up!) and headed over to watch Beauty and the Beast:

We were done at Hollywood Studios after that and got on a bus to one of the monorail resorts. Three of the deluxe hotels sit on the monorail so we took a bus to the Contemporary so we could catch the monorail over to the Magic Kingdom (see, I told you you sometimes have to get creative with Disney transportation):

The park was much more crowded being that it was a Saturday and it was the start of the Thanksgiving week. The line for Pirates of the Caribbean was 35 minutes which is LONG compared to what we'd been used to. I snapped this pic in line:

Just after that they made a "no flash photos in the building" announcement overhead. Oops. :)

We did some lunch at Pecos Bills...lunch went fine but at the end Jason ran to get FastPasses for something. I manage three kids by myself just fine all the time so I decided we'd clean up the table and head over to the potties to get that out of the way even though I was getting a bad headache. That was fine till Autumn pooped in her diaper and then said, "I have to go potty!" I said I'd change her in a second but she proceeded to take off her own poopy diaper. My hands were full of the drinks we still had from lunch so I had to rush to put those somewhere, get Autumn somewhat cleaned up. I pulled her pants up and left her diaperless and was going to put a diaper on her once we found Jason but I couldn't get a cell phone signal to even tell him where we were. So we stood in the restaurant but Easton was in the way of all the people carrying their food and he didn't listen to me telling him to move and stay against the wall so I wrangled him into place with my leg which made him yell at me which, as you know, is not acceptable. So we had to head out of the restaurant and I still couldn't get Jason. I made all of us just sit on the ground outside the restaurant. A cast member must've sensed the stressed situation I had going on because she came over with a puppet and was talking to the kids while I continued to try to get Jason on the phone, God bless her. Finally we get Jason to meet up with us, I get a diaper on Autumn with my pounding head and we were able to head over for some more rides on Splash Mountain.

I can't remember what else we rode. Not much, I know. I know I wanted Autumn to see Country Bear Jamboree but we didn't. I picked up a giant cinnamon roll and a chocolate croissant with snack credits from the Main Street Bakery for our early morning the next day. We left Magic Kingdom for the last time and waved goodbye to the castle as we walked out:

From there we took the monorail over to Epcot for the rest of the day.

We had originally wanted to use part of this day to swim and slide at the hotel but it was raining a bit. :( Boo. I felt awful about it that Easton could never get to slide like he'd been wanting all these months. But again, he did okay...espeically when he knew he'd get to do more Kim Possible adventuring over in the World Showcase. What a trooper!

So on to the World Showcase it was...and this time they gave Autumn her own broken communicator:

Using the communicator to make something happen in this butterfly display:

We walked more around the World Showcase but the rain was starting to come down pretty good so we made a dash for Japan. I had been planning to "Pick a Pearl" in their store. You pay $15 and pick your own oyster. It's a big cheesey ceremony:

Getting a pearl was sentimental for me. It is 7 1/4 mm and "berry shiny". ;)

They have settings there (which is probably how they make a lot of their money) but I am getting this angel cage in honor of my Pearl.

Actually, I brought this cage with us as I was thinking the Cinderella-esque carriage would make a nice souvenir for Autumn but I didn't end up doing Pick-a-Pearl for her. I'll save it for another time. She loves jewelry but she's not the most responsible just yet. Not that the carriage cost anything, but I didn't want to lose the pearl right away.

Moving on...

We had dinner reservations in Mexico that evening and it took so long to get our table despite our reservations. Many other families were having the same problem. Everyone in that restaurant was very frustrated with Mexico...we took the boat ride again and still waited about 45 mintues. It was miserable. I cared less when Autumn colored on their tablecloth than I maybe would have. :) The manager sent free appetizers over to us for the long wait which was nice of them. Still, what bad way to end our trip. :(

We were still in the park during Illuminations but we didn't watch the show. I feel like we might've ridden something again but I can't remember. I know I decided it was time to get souvenirs. The kids are strange and didn't ask us for anything during our whole trip! It was kind of me insisting they get a souvenir. And we got off easy! All trip long they'd get little things here and there...beads and doubloons at the resort, their "1st Visit" buttons, wishing stars and swords and wands and pictures at our princess breakfast, Jedi Training certificates, Autumn's haircut mouse ears, sand pails from lunch, they'd get stickers from characters and cast members just walking around, I gave them Silly Bandz 4 of the mornings, and glow stick something or others most of the evenings. Plus they all had a small "soft friend" from the trip already. But I wanted them to get something Disney...I mean, I sold my breast pump to do things like souvenirs and face painting and those kinds of extras. Dalton picked a Mickey Mouse lightsaber that he'd been wanting since our last Disneyland trip. It cost $7. Easton picked a small stuffed Stitch from Lilo & Stitch. It was cheap too...maybe $9 or $10. And Autumn picked a bracelet made up of different colored Mickey heads. It was about $6. We got giant Minnie and Princess lollipops (with leftover snack credits!) for Mallory (E's "girlfriend") and her sister as their family was cat sitting, as I'd mentioned.

And then we headed back to our resort. Autumn didn't make it back awake:

I stuck her in a clean diaper and her p.j. pants but left her in the rest of her stuff, even her face paint, for bed:

The kids went to sleep and Jason and I packed up. With the Magical Express taking us back to the airport, they picked us up 3 hours in advance of our flights!!! Which meant before 6 a.m. for Jason and the boys!!! Ouch. Jason and I stayed up just a bit later that night packing up and getting everything ready to go. We were both dreading it but it really wasn't bad. And then we got to sleep for a bit in anticipation of our early morning wake-up call the next morning.
