In honor of Gramoo's birthday yesterday Easton wore his moose jammies:
Here is big brother greeting little brother in the morning. Little brother must feel a little left out of not having any moose clothes of his own:
And, even though we had Gymsters and E usually wears sweats he dressed up real fancy in his moose shirt just to continue to think of Gramoo:
That is him after he pretended he had fallen down the stairs in order to get a little extra attention. He is a gigantic goob.
We felt bad that we didn't get to see Gramoo on her actual birthday but instead Easton took a 3 hour nap and Dalton slept for 2 and a half before I woke him. Crazy. The boys having some fun:
Easton likes to "ride" in that bucket, he especially likes when someone pushes him around in it or carries him around in it. He's got to show Dalton the ropes. Last night Dalton got to play "get buried in the throw pillows" with Daddy and Easton for the first time...a classic game in the ol' "S" house.
Just look how Dizzle looks up to his big bro.
I look forward to the day when they can have baths together too. Right now they're still solo for tubby time:
A self-portrait...
Doesn't it look like he took that himself? Complete with the silly expression. He likes to make that face when you wash his face. He loves baths. Getting out isn't quite as much fun:
I think we're stepping up the frequency of D's bathing if only to help his butt to heal. Kids in our dry climate are very prone to eczema--Easton's got it--so the doctors really advise you not to bathe them too often. Easton gets in the tub every night but doesn't get a full soaping more than a few times a week. But, poor Dalton's hiney still has those yucky sores. We almost want that area to get dried out. So much so that he also has been getting a blast from the hair dryer after diaper changes (on the cool setting) to really get rid of any moisture lurking in his many folds and crevices. Easton thinks this is very fun. He loves anything that makes a breeze. Even if it's on Dalton. He loves the humidifiers and the hair dryer and refers to them all as "windys". Now we say it, "Does the windy need to be refilled?" But I digress...anyway, I don't know how Dalton's little rear is going to heal unless we really go at it with some more of these interventions. We'll see how they go.
So, I had to bring Dalton into bed with us again this morning although he did do a longer stretch after going to bed eating at 8 then sleeping from 9 till 1:30. Then at 5:30 he came in with us. I think it's really just that his appetite is coming back from his illness and my milk supply needs re-upping too. Although he didn't nurse all that much when he woke. Hmmmm. It's still nice to snuggle with him, though. I didn't hesitate to bring him in with us at all. Sometimes I really wish Easton was willing to sleep in our bed too. But, since I don't want that all the time I guess I'll deal. They just both so snuggable. I love our morning cuddles with both the boys. Today was no exception.
But, after the snuggling and showering it was time to wait for Ellis to come play. He and his mom came by for just over an hour and Easton mostly followed Ellis around and copied things Ellis said and did. Ellis said "kitty cat" so Easton would say it. Usually he calls Blitz by his name...actually he calls all cats by Blitz' name. Ellis pointed at the cable connection in the wall and said, "screwdriver" so Easton said it too. Ellis did a neat trick between the coffee table and couch so Easton did it too. He is crazy. Oh well, Ellis is a very very verbal child so it's good for Easton to be around. It's like talking to a much older child with his complete sentences and perfect pronunciation. He probably calls hair dryers "hair dryers" instead of "windys". And even though Easton calls them "windys" it's pronounced more like "winnie". It's kind of funny too because people think Easton is fairly verbal but when I compare him to Ellis that way he doesn't seem quite so skilled...verbally anyway.
Any time we hang out with little pals like that I always wish Easton had more friends to play with. Too bad all my online pals live so far away. We gotta find some more friends 'round here so that Easton can copy them too.
Well, now that Easton is finally asleep I should get some lunch. I expect Dalton to wake any second for his lunch so I gotta run. Toodaloo!

Thanks for the birthday remembrances in the form of "the moose on the loose". It's good to be a Moosie. The boys are adorable together. I look forward to watching their relationship grow and evolve. Maybe they will be happy friends. Moo
Poor Dalton! Hiney problems stink! HAHA!
We got a bathtub sling (look like a bouncy seat) and used it so both boys could take a bath together. They loved it!
Could Dalton's bottom troubles be from yeast? Those rashes can hold on for a long time.
I love E's video yesterday saying "Happy Birthday Gramoo." Poor little baby skin. I hope it gets better. Love ya'll bunches!
Hope Dalton's bottom feels better soon. That just shows you what a great baby he is. You know it has to hurt and yet he is still so good natured.
Easton is super cute in his Moose sweater & jammies. :)
Did I ever tell you that Wren's nik-name is Mr. moose- horrible really but it stuck. In utero I called him my little sweet pea but once he entered the world there was nothing little about him. So as an infant he had an osh kosh sweater with a mouse on the pull zipper tab and for some reason he got n.n mr. moose. :>
