A Better Day

We're having another mostly good day with Easton. We were out shopping when naptime started rolling around and things got rough there at the ol' Dollar Store. Good thing they don't expect much from their clientele. But the good news is, he's napping. And went down without issue. The key (today!) was waiting till it was truly time for a nap, then I accidentally conked him in the head (not too hard) with Dalton's carseat which ended up working out well, actually. The bonk made him quite sad and I felt really bad... We headed upstairs to get his Cuddles and then I just laid him in his bed when he was feeling better from the bonk. He went right to sleep. I'm pretty sure it's not from a head injury :) Okay, I'm positive it's not.

Dalton had another wacky night of sleep. The kid just seems to think 3:30 is a great time to play these days (no caffiene this time). So I try ignoring him (he's not sad at all, just playing) but eventually Jason and I are both laying there awake so some action is needed with D...not that it works. Had to swaddle him again. Goober.

I have to compare my kids again: Dalton seems so much more vocal than Easton was at this age. Video from yesterday of D, then E imitating:

He makes all kinds of happy sounds. A lot of them when he should be sleeping. I'll rock him and put him down "drowsy but awake" well once I lay him down he'll often change directions and start talking and rolling. The kid rolls up a storm. Much more than Easton ever rolled. Easton was always going for the forward motion...already doing some army crawling at the age Dalton is now. So different.

But, Dizzle is becoming a great sitter. I can just leave him sitting now. Not that he doesn't still fall over occasionally, but he's doing really well:

Today was doughnut day. Easton ate 2 again! Yippee! Which is good because I put him down for his nap without his yogurt...had to strike while the nap iron was hot. He can have his yogurt when he wakes up. Ain't no thang.

While Dalton took his morning nap, Easton and I played in the front yard in E's Buzz Lightyear jammies:

Not sure what will happen after naps today. It's HOT outside (and yet I'm sitting here eating soup). So, we probably won't do much. But, there's your update for today. Thanks for checking in!

Lila and Dalton must be sending midnight messages to eachother. Lila is by far my most "talkative" child at this age. She, too, has a thing for magazines ;)

Dizzle is reading Preemie magazine thinking, "I could totally take THOSE kids." *lol*

I am loving that somersault pic from the front yard. I can't believe it was even cool enough in the morning for Easton to be in long jammies. Adam sleeps in footie jams, but then again some people call our house an artic tundra. Anyways, early morning temps have been mid 80s here. Yuck!

Dalton is so cute with his cooing. I could listen to baby coos all day long. His "wink" is adorable too. ;)

That first paragraph had me cracking up!!Especially, the dollar store tidbit. LOL.

Grace too is by FAR a more vocal baby than Julia was at this age. There really is no comparison. D's cooing was too sweet :)

Glad E was having a pretty good day :) I love it when 2 1/2 year olds have good days!!
