Monday Scoop

'Member how I was due for some "me time" yesterday? I went up to the mall and did some shopping. Funny how I can't help shopping for my guys too. They did fine without me (well, Easton freaked when I left). Naptime included an "eventful" half hour but when is naptime not eventful around here lately? Take now, for example. Easton has been in his room for an hour and is still not asleep. But he didn't pee on his bed...yet. So that's a plus.

Anyway, some fun after I got home:

I wasn't home for long when it was time to leave for a family gathering at my grandma's. Jason had previous plans to watch the first pre-season game (football, for those of you non-sports fans) last night as it featured his Saints. So, just the boys and I packed up and headed down. My mom and Lauren ended up needing to cancel at the last minute so it was just me, my grandparents, my aunt and uncle and 1 cousin (the rockstar). It was kinda weird to be there without my mom. And quieter too. I think it was maybe the first time I'd been to a gathering without her. I'm probably a real grown-up now. :)

The rest of the relatives were great and pitched in big time to help me manage my boys. Robbie (my 17 year old cousin) was particularly great with Dalton. It was very cute. Then when he got fussy he passed him off to my uncle Jeff:

Jeff cheered Dalton up with some lemonade. Okay, he only let him chew on the cup.

Robbie showed Easton how pianos work:

And my aunt Robin enjoyed some snuggy boy too:

Dalton screamed the entire drive home. He looks none the worse for wear this morning though:

That was after our doughnut run. Easton ate 2 again finally! And has had 2 yogurts too!

While Dalton took a nap Easton made a periscope:

And went searching for some treasure:

At least he's stopped picking at his lip all the time. But it comes with the above price. Right now he only digs in that side.

Once Dizzlebug woke up:

Easton was a spaz as usual:

And Diddle was a cutie:

And then he ate his tasty toes:

I much prefer that to nose picking.

Anyway, I really must go. My kids are driving me crazy. The one that won't nap has woken up the one that was napping. Neither will sleep now. And I can't shower. One day I'll miss the simplicity of these times, right?

I know. Me time for me generally includes shopping for the kids. It is so fun for me.

Great photos. My kids have been driving me a little nutty lately, too, what with the stripping and all. *lol* I was reading an article that discussed the amnesia effect of giving birth and the days with little kids. Once it is over, you forget how genuinely difficult it is, thus the wishing to return to the simplicity of these days which in actuality, aren't that simple at all!

I agree with Kyla...not sure just how simple these days are, but I'm sure you will look back at them fondly someday.

Love that brotherly loving you caught on tape. Just wait until they are body slamming each other in the middle of the living room someday.

I'm guessing that your uncle is your mom's brother? You definitely have his pretty blue eyes. Glad you had a fun family gathering!

And I must ask, where did you get the Lil Dozer shirt? Adam was looking at the pictures and cannot contain his excitement over E's shirt!

I loved the kids rough housing!! Well actually mostly E, but D can definitley hold his own.

Family gatherings are always so much fun. And I definitly know what you mean about it feeling "different" without mom there. I guess we really are grown-ups now.

Very cute pics :)
