Half a Year

My baby boy is 6 months young today.

He really is perfect isn't he? Sigh. Y'all are right. Sleeping Dalton pictures are the best.

Well I made a teeny little slideshow to commemorate the occasion. It ended up being a really quick project and turned out as kind of a "Mommy and D" movie:

Six whole months. That means in this same amout of time he'll be turning a year old. It goes way too fast.

At the same time, it's been well over 6 months since I've slept through the night. That is a long time when you think of it that way. Hopefully it won't be another 6. After our visitors next week leave I plan to buckle down a little more and quit taking the temporary easy way out. And we'll have introduced solids by then too so if Easton's too distracting during the milking sessions then he can have some solids to help fill his big ol' belly too.

And, it's only been 6 months (well, 5.5) for me to finally send out Dalton's birth announcement. Don't feel bad if you didn't get one. We only sent them to the grandparents since it was so darn late and thanks to the internet we already announced him to all of you just mere hours after his birth. Poor second kid, eh? The really pathetic part is that I made them waaaaaay back when he was, like, 2 weeks old. If that. Because as you can see...he was still quite orange:

Now before you get all complimentary about my talents and such, I totally copied that from an announcement at Purple Stork. I'm known for "lifting" other people's creations and subbing my own text and pictures. Hi Kirsty! (She's who I scraplifted a lot of the time...you know, back when I used to scrap.)

And since I'm posting past pictures (I finally sent them out to the relatives so I can now share them here). Dalton's 3 month photos:

Oh my goodness, he's so cute.

And the so-so one of both the boys I had to settle on for our Father's Day gift. Look at E's wonky smile and D's folded ear:

There, I've been sitting on those since May. And I only recently mailed them out to our out-of-town relatives. I'm pathetic. I know.

Oh yeah! The one's we had done on Father's Day as has become tradition:

Alright, so back to the day-to-day. Both boys slept until after 7 this morning. Only, like, 7:02 but still... J was in the shower so I gave Easton some books in his bed while I nursed Dalton. It goes much better when Easton's not around to entertain us. If only he'd stay happy and safe and quiet in his room during all the other milkings. Oh well. Speaking of, Easton's currently in his bed with books again. I thought he'd nap as we had Gym this morning but nope. Not interested. He tried, though. I really think he tried, even if it was brief. I really am lucky he'll stay in his bed with some books. He's fairly quiet too. At one point one of his "pull the tab" books was "broken" so he whined for me to help him. I hate whining. Plus Dalton is napping next door. So I asked if he needed me to "please say, "I need help Mommy" nicely". I just returned from following that request perfectly. What a guy! He said, "Mommy, I need help please!" Much better.

We did have Gym today...no Mr. Ken. Easton always goes, "Where's Mr. Ken?" But he did great today. No complaints from me. He was back to loving Gym as always. Whew.

I'm not sure what we'll do with our afternoon. Easton asked to change back into his jammies for his "nap". And Dalton didn't get to really nap this morning since we were out and about. Don't know what that'll mean for his current nap. I really should've looked at the clock when he went to sleep. Whoops!

Alright, well I guess I've rambled enough for today. Till next time!

Happy Half Year Birthday, Dizzle!!!

The D video made me weepy, too. Cutie patooties I have for grandbabies. We are all truly blessed.

I'm glad E is back to enjoying his gym classes. They are a great experience for him. Love you all. See you soon...Moo

That video was so sweet, that one of D over the boppy had me going, no way! When did he get so big? Or rather, when was he so little? =)
Beautiful birth announcement too, lifted or not!

Great photos & montage. Love the announcement, too. Hard to believe it's been 6 months already!

I spent ages making little clay PJs and stuff for Wee Laddie's announcements... and never did send any out. That should make you feel better. ;)
