Sorry I've been "missing". I don't even have a real good reason. We haven't been doing anything super exciting that's kept me away nor have we been having "bad" days. In fact, today's the first in a few days that Easton hasn't napped. He's still in his room, though. I need a break from the kid regardless. And if he happens to fall asleep while he's up there: horray! But he won't. Not today. Early bedtime for him!!
Well, of course I've got a lot of pictures to catch up on and I'm sure there are some stories behind them so we'll just jump right into those:
Mr. Ken thought Dalton was a girl AGAIN on Wednesday. "What you talkin' 'bout, Mr. Ken?"
Then he said, "Oh, on first glance the red shirt looked like it might've been pink." Yeah, and on first glance your dolphin tattoo looked like it might be a shark. (J's joke.) I guess he forgets that we do this all the time. While we're talking about Gym, Easton finally had a good session. He's been such a whiner at Gym and not wanting to particpate in the gymnastics like he normally loves. He'll just go, "I want Mama!" even though I'm sitting, like, 5 feet away watching him. Sometimes I feel like he's milking it and not really feeling insecure. Goob. Anyway, we had a big discussion before going to Gym, and some reminders on the way to Gym and once we were there. Well, he started being unagreeable (disagreeable?) and so I said, "Do you want to go home?" and he said, "Yes" so we were leaving. Then he changed his mind (which I actually hoped for and therefore allowed) so we stayed and he was super. We had an obvious "secret signal" of me pointing at my smiling face to remind him to stay happy. During the gymnastics he told Miss Stephanie, "Miss Steddie! Look at Easton!" and pointed to his happy smile. She thought it was quite amusing.
After naps the boys "played food":
And I posed with my guys:
Yesterday Easton begged for me to give him a "buzz buzz, pweeeeeese" so he got a haircut on the front porch. While we were out there we found the latest package from The Alabamaws. Thank you, Maws! Easton scored a this new "red fire tractor" (what the rest of us know as a firetruck) and this red hat that makes me think of Fred Durst:
He's loving the hat, by the way. He wanted to nap with it on yesterday!
Dalton got a hat and a toy too but he hasn't seen them yet. Easton loves Dalton's toy, though. He's going to show it to Dalton after their naps today. Well, after Dalton's nap I guess.
After yesterday's naps they played "bury Dalton in the stuffed animals":
Dalton is always a huge fan of attention from his big bro:
Anyway, yesterday afternoon we went to go see my cousin's band at a neighboring suburb's "Carnation Festival". Apparently being the choice flower in cheap corsages isn't enough, they need a whole festival but whatever. It was a wonderful excuse to pack a "picpic" dinner and finally go see them play. It was at 5:00 so just me and the boys (and Gramoo, Lauren, Grammy, and Grandpa John--plus my aunt and uncle who are roadies) went. Watching the show:
Of course it was loud but they didn't mind. Well, Easton startled a few times. Dalton didn't. Go figure. Then it was time for our picnic:
Easton shocked me by asking for a deviled egg (icky to me!). Then he actually ate a lot of it! Yippee! He had some bread and chips which were no surprise but then he ate a bunch of fruit. Like, 3 servings! And didn't pick at it or anything. Just shoved things in his mouth that he's not even used to like "waterlemon" and kiwi and pineapple. I was amazed. So was Gramoo. She knows how he is. He is really a different kid lately in so many ways. Some good and some...well...not so good.
There was a bee that wouldn't leave us alone and for some reason I am really afraid of bees. I don't get it...I have no fear of needles and have let people practice drawing blood and starting IVs on me numerous times. But a bee scares me. Maybe because a sting is so unexpected? Anyway, I cannot hide this fear and poor Easton couldn't help but pick up on it (think it was the shrieking?). When the bee came around again he just started crying. Oops. I smashed it later! Yay. He was ruining my picpic.
We were late getting the boys to bed last night and again, they stayed up even after we put them down. Those goobers. Speaking of...Easton's being quiet all of a sudden. I gave him some books to read as I had given up on the napping. Hmmmmm...I wonder? Oh, nope...there he is.
Anyway, today when the boys woke up we went to the park. The park for the Carnataion Festival last night didn't have a playground so I felt bad that Easton didn't get to play. So we went today. Packed some cinnamon toast in a baggie and off we went!
Dalton got to try swinging for the first time!
Easton has always been a fan:
Then, when Dalton went down for his morning nap, Easton and I did some painting:
Other than that we haven't been doing much. Just catching up on laundry with my helpers:
I don't even know what's in store this weekend. I think J is due for some "me time". But I'll try to keep you posted. Enjoy!

Sounds like you guys have been having a good time! I've wondered where you've been!
You and E have the same hair line in the buzz buzz picture. Love seeing Dalton smiling in the swing.
Moo
That Dalton is a smiler! Easton looks like he was having fun with that paint. I 've been thinking about doing paint soon. And by the way I love the clean laundry room!
I think Mr. Ken suffers from gender confusion!
Dalton is so adorable...swinging for the first time. I love it!
You can tell Easton is quite fond of his new red hat. He looks like such a big boy in it. I notice he's even sporting double hats for laundry duty. Funny boy!
