Well, as I've mentioned our visitors get here today so I don't know how much I'll be able to blog the next few days. Not that any one will really miss me, my number one fan (Grandma 'Gette) will be here so she won't need to tune in for grandson updates. But, we'll see...the computer is in our guest room so it makes it more difficult.
Okay, back to yesterday and the no naps...ugh...sometimes I feel so bad for trying to get him to nap. I mean, I think to myself, "am I doing this for him or for me?" the answer is both in all honesty however, yesterday he really needed that nap. I gave up as you know and we made a trip to Sam's Club...guess what: on the way back the little punk, er...punkin, fell asleep in the car! And he was out, snoring like you wouldn't believe (thanks to the still stuffy nose). Normally my little light sleeper wakes up as soon as I turn off the car. But he didn't. Okay, so when I slam my door shut that should wake him...nope, that didn't wake him either. Hmmm...he opened his eyes as I took him out of the carseat but conked out again as soon as I put him up to my shoulder. He slept taking off his shoes, going up the stairs all the way till I laid him in his crib. Then he kicked his legs and screamed at me. I didn't try anymore after that...it was way late for a nap anyhow and J would be home to relieve me soon. Ahhhh...and sweet relief it was. I got to have a Mike's Hard Lemonade and chat on the phone with my sister until bath time. Bless my sweet hubby's heart...a looooong day at work and then came home to "babysit". Love him.
Today Easton went right down for his nap. I rocked him for longer than I usually do so maybe he was drowsier? He fussed for just a second when I laid him down but then he snuggled with his little burp cloth and I can hear him snoring again now. Awwwww. Toddlers are so unpredictable. Especially mine. Although Jason and I took a quiz in the Baby Whisperer for Todddlers book and both our answers came out that Easton was "Textbook" personality-wise. Hmpfh. Coulda fooled me. I predicted that he'd be "touchy" which scored second highest when I took it. "Angel" came in as second highest for J's point of view. Ha! But, it's true: Easton behaves better for Jason and Easton isn't around him as much. So there.
Oh, I've forgotten to be updating on the weaning thing. Well, while he was sick he nursed a lot more but we were wanting him to get my antibodies again to help him get well. But, starting yesterday I went back to only nursing him at his 6 a.m. waking and that's been it so far. He's back to being Mr. Picky again which is so incredibly frustrating. He'll say he wants to eat a banana. We show him the banana just to make sure and he'll nod his head and get excited as we peel it, then he'll refuse to take even one bite. Argh! It drives us so crazy. Right after he recovered from his tummy bug he was being a great eater, but this recent virus switched him back to the old picky Easton. Oh well...the only thing predictable about Easton is his unpredictability. Love him anyway.
Well I should start wrapping this up. Jason will be heading to the airport soon. We spent the morning doing our regular weekend chores: vaccuuming, mowing...plus the extra "house guest" chores: fresh sheets on guest bed, putting out clean towels...It's time for me to hit the showers then the grocery store. Chicken fajitas tonight...yum! Don't miss me too much while I'm less "available", hee hee!
