I Can't Escape the Puking!

Okay, so you know the annoying neighbor dogs? Well, a cat lives there too. We call it Oreo since it's black and white. Oreo is always in our yard but no biggie since Blitz is an indoor cat. Yesterday Oreo sat on our back porch and puked up 3 piles! Ick! Go away!!! Then at dinner last night (at Cracker Barrel) Easton stuffed a bit too much cornbread in his mouth and did a serious choking episode complete with hurling. Fun. After he chokes he gets kind of clingy to me and therefore I was not able to jump up right away to wash my hands (where I had caught most of the cornbread). Gross, eh? Oh well...it's all part of this parenting journey and I love it.

Pictures? Well, here's one from yesterday's round of "hide and say 'raaar'". This is Easton's face as I jumped out from behind a shelf yelling 'raaar' (great fun, by the way...you should all play).

What else? Oh, the kid that woke up in Eastie Monster's place today is much more fun than yesterday's kid. We only had one toddler moment when I had to rush him to get ready for Kindermusik. I forgot we had it today and a half hour before realized, "Oh crap...we gotta go." So, not a lot of time to go with a toddler's time table. He did pretty good up until the "let's put our shoes on" moment when he decided he'd rather close himself in the dark bathroom over and over. Fun for a bit, yes, but then we had to go and I had to pick him up kicking and crying from the floor and stick him in the car sans coat or shoes. In the car he was fine and said, "cold" so I shoved a blanket over him as I didn't have time for the, "That's because you wouldn't put your coat on" lesson.

Kindermusik was great but Easton was a little clingy to me. He wanted to do the "rock rock" song and sat in my lap for parts of the class when he'd normally sit on the floor with the other kids. Oh well. I like when he's cuddly.

On the way home we stopped for McDonald's hotcakes. I haven't had those in forever and we were in need of breakfast having had to rush out the door like we did. We brought it home and I set the bag on the table and threw our dinner in the Crock Pot. Whilst I was doing that Easton decided to climb up on my chair, reach into the bag for the hashbrown patty, and then sit down and eat half of it:

He was quite smug about it but would share bites when I asked. We then sat in our normal seats and ate the pancakes. As you probably know by now, Eastie loves to clean up and helps wipe up the table at his spot after he eats. He calls it "dust dust" because we "dust" with scarves like that at Kindermusik. Amusing, no? Anyway, the silly guy loves to "dust" so much that the other day I caught him pouring chocolate milk on the table just so he could "dust" it up. I really hope he grows out of that "make-a-mess-just-to-help-clean-it" phase by the time potty training rolls around. Yikes!

He is just so fun and amazing with each day. It gets better and better which I don't see how that's possible yet here we are, each day better and more fun than the last. I just love how we can "converse" with each other. He's just got so many words now and we can sit and chat over breakfast or at bedtime. One of his latest things is saying, "I did it!" which made me cry the first time he said it. He'd been doing the simple two word "sentences" for awhile now: Dada work, Blitz bad, Mama rock rock...but the use of "I" and then saying, "I did it!" was too much for hormonal me. The day he said that for the first time he had stabbed a macaroni noodle with his fork all by himself, then he blew on it 'cause it was hot, then ate it and proclaimed his triumphant "I did it!" Jason was there too. Very special. Now he says it all the time...like today he wanted to put lotion on his hands like I was doing. I gave him a squeeze and he rubbed his hands together to rub it in and then said, "I did it!" Yesterday he also said, "I push buttons" because he wanted to help with the microwave. Too cute, I tell you. Sometimes it's like, "Why do they have to grow up?" but then I remember how much I love who he's becoming and where we're going. It does go too fast though, that's for sure.

Tonight we have swimming and it's Jason's turn to get in with E. We missed last Thursday due to the sudden, unexplained fever and then they didn't hold classes on Halloween. Should be fun. Except for E's shivering. Then, hopefully dinner in the Crock Pot will be done so E won't have to be up too long past bedtime. I'm sure I'll have pics again for tomorrow! Till then...

I know I feel the same way about wren growing up. Our little babies are just growing up so fast. Wren is about to start walking and I am SO proud of him yet at the same time I am greiving all the moments that are never to return again. I can see how people can just keep having kids!

Lana does the "dust dust dust" song as well whenever she finds a rag or scarf around. One time there was some spilled milk on a table on TV and she was trying to wipe it up. Toddlers are amusing!
