Weekend Recap

Yesterday morning Jason proposed breakfast at McDonald's. Apparently he was due for an oil change in the truck so we took two cars over to Mickey D's for some food. As soon as we sat down, Easton yakked in both mine and J's hands as well as down his front. Lovely. However, Easton is known for occasional yakking for no apparent reason so we simply washed our hands, changed his clothes and let him play. His poor unfortunate "spare outfit" however was quite pathetic. I had a pair of way too short sweat pants stashed in the bottom of the diaper backpack back from when he was potty training. And then he had a jacket on the floor of the car:

Cute, no?

We came home and decided we should do something, so the four of us ran some errands. Easton was starting to be difficult to be around. Perhaps from low blood sugar (he didn't have breakfast after the puking) or perhaps from not enough sleep during his illness...who knows.

Once we got home E scarfed down some lunch and then wanted to take a nap. As much as we hate that come bedtime, we also didn't want to continue being around him the way he was. So he napped. And so did Dalton and so did I! How lovely. Jason woke Easton up after awhile (smart move!) and we had a much better afternoon, for the most part:

Even Diddles got to dress up in E's Spidey costume, he did not like the mask part:

Dalton is continuing his hitting phase, however, so to try to curb that he gets put in the naughty corner if he hits after he's been warned. Dalton seems to understand pretty much whatever we say now, obviously not everything but his verbal recognition has really taken off recently. So he knows what it means when you say, "No hitting." If he does it again right away he gets put in the time out corner. We don't set the timer but it does remove him from the situation (our tactic with Easton in this phase too). He sits there for a few and is sad:

We let him come out before too long but he has to give a hug and a kiss as his way of saying sorry. It's really quite sweet.

I was going to try a new recipe of Jessica's last night but Jason got a hankering for pizza. And I've always got a hankering for not cooking. So instead he went out and got us a pie while the rest of us sat around lazily watching Sesame Street:

We couldn't believe it when Easton ate quite a bit of pizza! He's not normally a fan. And he was eating the pepperonis too! He's not much of a meat eater. Yay E! After he polished of his two Easton sized pieces of pizza he asked for a quesadilla which to him is apparently a warm tortilla with butter. But whatever...we always love to see that boy eating!

Despite the nap Easton did pretty well going to bed last night...he asked to get up to poop but other than that we didn't hear from him. Yay! Dalton on the other hand...I had a rough night with that kid. He keeps doing this happily wide awake thing. Where he seriously just lays there awake, not complaining, you occasionally here him talking to himself or the more frequent bonking of his cast on the wood of the crib. But dude, he was up a lot. How annoying.

Still, everyone slept till 7:30 this morning which is decent around here. Jason did some yardwork while the boys and I literally HUNG inside:

And then after a brief quiet time Jason and Easton went swimming.

Easton earned the trip as a reward...and his swimming lessons start tomorrow. He's doing them without a parent for the first time!

When they get home I'm going out for a dose of some me time. Looking forward to that! Ooops...there's them in the garage. Gonna go now!

(AJ, I timed it from uploading all the pics from the camera, choosing the ones I wanted, resizing and cropping, uploading to PB, and my text and this one took me 23 minutes). :)

23 minutes. I would say you are quite proficient. I hope you enjoy some me time and I love the picture of E hanging out. That kid is amazing.

Glad to hear that E slept good even after his nap. But not so good with D. Eventually they will be BOTH sleeping thru the night but it may not be for a while. I am still waiting too.

Oh my goodness, the picture of D in the corner just melts my heart. He looks SO SWEET, and so sad. I just want to pick him up and love in him. I am just impressed he stays put - Drew has yet to be in a time out for my fear he will run. Guess I should probably start trying them out though.

...and as for E's spare outfit, well I am just impressed you had one!

I'm also impressed you had a spare outfit. We would have been booking it home.

Pretty cute that the boys can both wear that Spidey costume.

I'm amazed that only took you 23 minutes.

I think the spare outfit rocked! LOL.

What a monkey E is hanging on the doorknob. That takes some serious spider man skills :)

E is so impressive with all his skills. He'd probably be awesome in a tumbling class.

Sounds like a good weekend! And we rarely have a spare outfit! We probably should though, with our puker.
