Welcome to today. We're having a quiet day at home so far. I showered but put my p.j.'s back on. We'll go out later but I just didn't feel like getting dressed after my shower. My wardrobe needs updating in a bad way so I just feel rather uninspired walking into my closet. Maybe I'll hit some after Christmas sales or something.
Anyway...Autumn's been snoozing as she does most days. Since she's not wearing any new outfit to show off I haven't taken a picture of her but I've actually got some of the boys.
They put on costumes even before breakfast and sat and read books together while breakfast cooked:
After breakfast the crazies wanted to go outside. The current temp here at almost 1:30 is only 17 degrees...so it was probably about 10 degrees when they were out there...E in just his thin costume and Cuddles cape at first!
At least he's wearing boots instead of bare feet this time.
It wasn't long before they both wanted hats, gloves, and jackets. Then they threw some snow at the sliding glass door:
They weren't out for too long. It's way cold and they didn't want to dress properly so they came in after a bit, just like I knew they would.
We settled in to flip through our latest issue of National Geographic Little Kids. We love it. I think it was a gift from Grammy??? Anyway, we really like looking through it together when it comes. Especially Easton. Today there was an experiment making carbon dioxide in a glass of water and making raisins "dance" in the glass....so we did that:
Our experiment was a bit of a flop because I realized I read teaspoon and tablespoon wrong and put in too much baking soda. We'll try again...after I buy more baking soda!!!
We moved on to putting laundry away and the boys had a blast throwing balls of socks into the appropriate drawers from across everyone's rooms. Good times. And that way I can hang up stuff in the closets while they're enjoying that little game.
But the throwing and laundry baskets inspired Easton with a new game...throwing our Christmasy "soft friends" into the now-empty laundry basket:
Which then led to a round of our safari game with those same Christmas stuffed animals. Followed by other games Easton came up with (hiding a tiny toy then playing Warmer/Colder to lead the other people to it). He wanted to switch to regular ol' Hide and Seek after that but I was a bit "gamed" out at that point and we read a stack of Christmas books instead. It's been a good morning with my little ones.
Now it's quiet time and once Autumn wakes I s'pose we'll all finally get dressed and head out in the freezing cold for a few things from Target. The end.

I'm telling ya, putting on PJ clothes at home is the way to go. Other than having to answer the door that way, I don't understand why anyone would want to do differently. I'm a big believer in the comfie factor! ;)
Sounds like you and your crew have had a super fun day at home. I love all the imaginative play...we need to do more of that 'round here and less "commercial movies". :)
17 degrees is unimaginable! We are in the upper 50's and are pretty cold. Yes, we are wimpy here in California!
Sometimes I switch back to pj's after picking BubTar up, just to be comfy until I HAVE to get dressed again for school in the evening. I love my PJs!
That sounds like a very fun day! I wish we had snow here more often, I just love playing with the kids out there. I was kind of wishing that Friday would turn into a Groundhog's Day scenario so we could do it over and over! LOL.
I'm getting worried!!! j/k Just seeing if my RSS is slow. Hope you had a great weekend.
