Dalton only woke once last night. He's been on a twice-a-night kick for awhile now. But my lovely husband has been going in with him for his first waking armed with a sippy of cold cow's milk. Dalton always takes just a few sips and then decides he is too tired to wake up for cold milk from a cup and goes right back to sleep. Then he wakes around 5:30 for some warm Mama's milk. But it's been nice getting a longer stretch of sleep myself. Last night D didn't even bother to wake for Jason. Just for me around 3:00. But that was fine.
We started our day and I told Easton we'd be going to a new mall today. He said, "A new mall?!?! That would be great-a-cool!" And I said, "Did you just say, 'great-a-cool'?" and he sheepishly said, "Yes" with a smile knowing he's a big dork sometimes. :) Then he told his brother, "Dalton! We're going to a new mall! Won't that be fun?" And we were all very excited.
But then I decided to change our plans.
Some of our friends were planning to go to a park. Originally I wasn't sure if we'd go. I didn't want Easton being "off" again and the park isn't exactly close to us. But, he was in a great mood so instead I checked to see if the park would be okay with him for today and we'd do the "Great-a-cool Mall" tomorrow. He agreed...after we looked at pictures of each place online.
So we packed some snacks, Easton wanted to bring some Cheetos to share. We made the drive down and got to the park...and no one was there...and it was starting to sprinkle! The boys didn't care a bit though and got down to play:
After maybe 20-30 minutes some of our pals showed up. They shared some banana with Dalton who was begging for it like a dog.
And speaking of dogs there was a sweet golden retriever out for a walk and when he saw Dalton he laid down so as to be non-threatening while D pet him. Diddles loves doggies. But today he kept calling them "baby". He would giggle and giggle when Tucker (the dog) would lick him. Easton is starting to get a little afraid of dogs sometimes because he didn't want to be licked in the face (me neither!). But he got some pats in too. One of the moms we were with was amazed that Dalton had no fear when it came to the big doggie. He doesn't know to be afraid, yet, though.
We played some more. Dalton climbed in this tube:
It's such a looooong tube though that to take that picture I had to stick my camera in one of the air holes:
He would disappear inside that thing for quite a long time. He had fun.
About an hour after we got there Wee Laddie showed up:
Followed by Rachel Roo:
How cute is she in her bathing suit? It was about 60 degrees but she is sort of attached to it lately. Apparently she normally wears it with a pair of goggles too. She had just come from dance class and her mom said she had her suit and goggles and tutu on all at once! Kids are so silly sometimes!
Pretty soon it started to rain and rather than opt to eat in the shelter with everyone we decided to head home. It was nearing naptime and we only had Cheetos, raisins, and fruit leathers...we needed "real" food for lunch.
Didn't stop Easton from downing a bunch of Cheetos on our drive home, though:
D had to wait:
We ate a little lunch and the boys are off in their rooms now. Easton's being pretty good so I'm hoping it continues when we brave the grocery store this afternoon. J and I need sparkling cider for tonight's TV line-up. I forgot to get it on Tuesday! I think I'm nixing the free cookie before we even get there. We'll see though.
Have a good afternoon!

Fun! Do you guys go out every day? We are such boring homebodies. LOL. It's an exceptional day when we go some place. Haha. Now that I'm not in school it seems kind of boring, so we might need to spice it up for the next month or so and try and go places.
Glad it was a good day all around!
Okay, first I just love that you have a junior prom picture posted! You goof ;) ...but really I am just anxious to hear if the boys got a cookie at the grocery store. Izzy is in charge of the cookies at our store and although it is only "1 per kid" she always gets 2 for her and 2 for Drew and laughs like she tricked the entire Harris Teeter store.
Love the cheetos-face. It's "great-a-cool" - LOL!
"Geat-a-cool!" That is one to remember!
That's neat that you guys have been having so many play dates with friends. Looks like lots of fun!
