But the night was a different story again. Dalton woke up crying around 3:30 a.m. and I went in to find him dry heaving a bunch. And burning up again. He was pushing 104 degrees! But with the dry heaving we were afraid to give him any meds...we don't have suppositories.
Eventually we gave him some and they stayed down, he sucked down a bunch of Pedialyte and asked to nurse so I did that too. Then he threw up. Then he went to sleep.
He woke up just after 8:30 this morning and didn't feel hot, but his diaper was completely dry. The last wet diaper he had was at 3:45 in urgent care yesterday. That is 17 hours with no urine. That is so not okay, I was worried he might be physically unable to pee after the cath trauma yesterday or something so I was on the phone dialing his ped's answering service when he peed--at 8:45. I hung up.
He wet another diaper at about 10:45. So I'm holding off calling for now, and we're still trying to push fluids. But at least he doesn't currently have a fever.
By the way, my new thermometer I bought last night is total poo. I'm gonna take it back and then ask the doctor if there's anything she recommends (continuing in the armpit, a pacifier thermometer, a temporal scanner...) Here in these parts they never do rectal temps anymore. Can't say I'm complaining, although I know it would be quite accurate getting a core temp in the core like that.
Okay, that's all for now.

I hope things are on the mend and that icky fever does not come back again. I know this must be so stressful.
(((((((HUGS)))))))))
Poor lil guy. I hope he gets better soon.
Love, Cori and the crew
Diddlebug, please feel better.
Reading about all this just reminds me so much of what we go through with KayTar every time she gets sick. I wish you weren't having to worry like this.
Ick! Poor Dalton! I hope that he is feeling better soon (and stays fever free!) What a strange illness, eh? Hang in there!
Did you see my "note" to you about the 8-10 second arm pit thermometer? It works awesome!
