He's Enrolled!

Yesterday we got Easton's health forms in the mail from the doctor and that was the last thing we needed to get in order to go sign him up for preschool. So we headed up there and he's on the list! He's only the third kid on that list. What's up with that? All the other classes are so full and his little class is just the 3 of 'em so far. It didn't make me all sad to sign him up or anything. I think I was in too big of a hurry at that time. Oh well. E wasn't scared to be there or anything: he had a Cuddles tied around his neck like a cape. He'd been wearing it since quiet time.

Here's his little classroom for the fall:

I think classes will start the last week of August or so. And they do what they call a "phase in" where he doesn't go for 3 hours by himself the very first day. They ease them into it by coming for just an hour with a parent the first time, and then work their way up, I guess. I'm not sure if I like that better or not. But whatever. Actually, what the heck am I gonna do with Dalton while I'm at preschool for an hour or two? Eek...maybe I'll try to book Lauren with all this advance notice. :)

After we registered we ran to Wal-Mart for a couple of things. Easton was still wearing his cape. He was being "Captain Carlos" from Playhouse Disney stuff. On the way home from Wal-Mart Easton fell asleep in the car. He'd been doing so well with not doing that lately and was back to sleeping a good stretch at night again (12-12.5 hours) but yeah, he fell asleep. I went to get him out and that nearly always wakes him up. But it didn't this time. So I let him sleep in the car...with the car door opened and the door to the house opened. Dalton and I just hung out in the kitchen and checked on him frequently. He got his little arm up for comfort:

Eventually I just decided to wake him up and he totally just snuggled me on the couch while Dalton ran around and played.

He came around a little bit for dinner but he was so cold that he asked to wear his coat:

Notice how Dalton (and also the rest of us) are in short sleeves. It was pleasant to us.

Despite the brief late afternoon nap, E still went to bed at his normal time. Whew. And Dalton made it all the way from 7:30 p.m.-5:00 a.m. before waking to eat. Woo hoo.

Jason proposed breakfast out this morning (and for tomorrow too!) and I actually had to wake Dalton up as it was nearing 9:00! Easton got ready with his spikey hair and "Mom" shirt:

He was trying to look tough, says Jason.

Breakfast took forever, we weren't too pleased. But whatever. When we got home Easton was given the option of either taking off his socks to come to the mailbox with me and D or he could stay inside. He didn't want to do either so Dalton and I left without him. But when I got back up towards the door Easton was laying on the sidewalk crying. I'm not sure exactly what happened, only the results:

That is one time I struggle as a mom...when he didn't take off his socks I had told him to stay inside. But apparently he decided not to listen and came outside anyway. And he got hurt. Unrelated to wearing socks, of course, but still...he was hurt and while I was sympathetic at the same time he needed to be "talked to" at some point about the not listening. Ugh.

But, I still took care of him. He wanted some bandaids:

The "moustache" one didn't last long at all and we didn't bother to put anything on the "road rash" on his nose or his arm.

A kiss from Mommy:

Then he was good to go again. Stinker.

He and Daddy went out to mow the lawn in the cold:

At one point Diddles was standing on this doctors kit to watch them out the window but he stopped while I ran to get the camera:

Later Jason was pulling weeds in the backyard and Easton went back out to join him. I was up putting D down for his nap and when I came out I found this:

I said, "Easton do you want your coat?" and he said, "No, just Daddy's holding me". They were pretending they were polar bears. Cuddly polar bears. It really is chilly today.

Now E is up doing his quiet time and Jason is off shopping. I teased him that when you shop for Mother's Day you should take the children along but he wasn't a fan for several reasons...one being that Easton can't keep secrets. Oh well. I still get my quiet time too.

Happy Mother's Day Eve!

That class looks AWESOME! I especially love the treehouse area. Wow! It will be so fun for him! He might even try to rig up a Diego zipline. LOL! I hope they let me phase KayTar into class, too, or at least come visit/play a couple times until she knows what it is all about. I was never too nervous about BubTar starting school, but KayTar's a bit different.

Poor Eastie! That looks like is smarts. Ouchie. But it does add to that tough look he was going for. ;)

That classroom DOES look like fun! He's going to love it!

I think I would have been more comfortable with a gradual phase in. I just had to drop Adam off for 4 hours the first day and I was so worried about him. Turns out, he didn't miss me a bit. Which was a good thing.

Poor thing, with his face ouchies! Adam can totally sympathize. :)
