So you might remember how Dalton was sleeping well in the recent past...he was only waking up once, around 5:30 or so, to eat?
Then we saw my mom on Mother's Day and she said, "Sounds like he's getting close to sleeping through the night" and we kissed that dream good-bye.
Sure enough, he's been up twice a night since then.
That is, until last night. He slept from 7:30 p.m.- 5:30 a.m. We're going to see my mom tonight...just in time for her to jinx us again. :)
Actually, for Dalton, last night was sleeping through the night. He was up for the day at 5 friggin' thirty! He was pretty quiet though so I dozed on and off till 6:30. What a turkey.
I put him down slightly early for his nap. I hope he sleeps awhile. I think he needs it. We've got an exciting evening ahead of us because the little dudes and I are going to a carnival at Gramoo's school. Hope it doesn't rain on us.
It rained yesterday too. But Easton still insisted on taking his time watering the flowers from his watering can (yes the rain would've watered them too...but he's 3, what're you gonna do?) He walked out there careful not to spill a drop from his watering can. And watered each little plant so gently:
Dalton and I watched from the safety of the covered porch:
And when E was done he dashed inside:
We also went on a shopping trip yesterday. To Walgreens. Way exciting. But, Dalton saw those little mylar ballons on a stick (that you might put in with a vase of flowers or in a plant) and he wouldn't be quiet about them. "Ba!!! Ba!!! Ba!!!" So I gave him one. And then I decided, hey, I'm getting something for myself, something for Jason, and now this ba' for Dalton, may as well let Easton pick out something special. It's rare that we do that. Usually we make things be gifts or he has to earn them as a reward or something, but nope, I just let him pick out a toy. Just for the heck of it. First he picked a Spiderman riding on an ATV looking thing. Then he spotted some Spiderman pool toys (that you dive for) and picked those instead. Next he wants goggles so he can dive and a washcloth to bring in case he chokes on the water and has to throw up at the pool. Yes, he said that. On his own.
His for-no-reason-at-all toy:
And Dalton's ba':
It's of the graduation variety...in honor of Lauren graduating next week, I guess.
This morning we just hung around the house doing some laundry and playing upstairs which we don't usually do much of. I hate cleaning up the mess up there because we don't have a big toy box to just throw everything in, instead they have shelves that things have to be put away nicely, you know? Probably why we don't play up there much. Dalton likes to take everything off of shelves and out of drawers.
I made us come back downstairs and play with his ba' instead:
I'm sure we'll have fun tonight...and have a good weekend if I don't talk to you before it's over! :)

I remember when Adam was about Diddle's age and he wanted one of those balloons as well. Those things last forever. I remember it being in his room for months and months. Fun times!
Hope there is no jinx this time around. You're due for some good sleep!
I won't say anything about sleep. I PROMISE! Moo
I hope you get some much needed rest!
The boys are stunning! I can't believe how big they are!
Love, Cori
KayTar read with me this morning. She said, "That's like a Houston. EASTON! That's like a Easton. He's my boy."
I hope you get sleep soon!
oh I hope you get some good rest very soon! Maybe he was just having an off week and he will start sleeping through from here on out!
I love that Diddle's picked a grad balloon...too cute! And, I can't believe what E said about the washcloth. What a funny guy!
