J's Father's Day

We arrived home on Sunday just before noon or so. The boys and my mom and Lauren were playing out in the front yard having just gotten home from playing at McDonald's where they both reportedly ate a ton (2.5 pancakes for E!).

While they were certainly happy to see us, we got reports of them doing simply fabulously. Apparently about 3 hours after we left, Easton decided to act sad for about 10 minutes but that was the extent of it. Dalton was said to have never been anything other than completely happy, except for when he woke up for milk (one time) in the night. My mom said both boys went down for the night almost too easily and they both slept till 7:30 the next morning. Except for Dalton waking at around 3:00 or so to eat I think even my mom was able to get some sleep too. Yay!

Shortly after we arrived home and got all the happy reports of what went on while we were gone, my mom and Lauren packed up and went back home to leave us to our Father's Daying. However, it was nearing Dalton's naptime and Easton was begging to make cornbread muffins with Daddy. So I put D down and Jason and E made corn muffins together and then ate them with syrup for their lunch:

In lieu of putting E down for any quiet time (we'd already had a long break from him!) he and Jason went out in the backyard to run around in the sprinklers:

We had to make sure to do any water play while Dalton was still asleep so he wouldn't be too sad he'd have to miss out due to his cast (it comes off on Friday!)

When Easton got too cold (which did not take long) we sat down to play some Candyland (again because Dalton was down and wouldn't mess it up for us).

Finally Dalton woke up and Jason was able to get some quality time in with D as well. They made a call to PawPaw Gary to wish him a Happy Father's Day too!

And they played a little music together:

And invented a new pillow ride game:

We also went up see what the Father's Day fairy left for Daddy...there was the beers--of course--from the World's Largest Liquor Store:

And a new summer outfit in the bag as well as a hard to find rental of a movie J's been looking for:

We played upstairs for a little while, Jason and Easton had an exciting game of hide and seek going that included some really great giggles. At about 4, Easton and I took off to pick up our take-out dinner. Jason wanted to get some "just D" time in since he'd had a lot of E time when Dalton was asleep. So I called in our order: a shrimp and oyster po' boy from Pappadeaux for J (like last year!) and macaroni for me and the boys from Noodles. We didn't get too far into our trip when Easton fell fast asleep--he was practically mid-sentence--he must've been worn out from all the fun he'd been having with Gramoo and Lauren all morning and some very active playing and no quiet time with Daddy.

So anyway, E was fast asleep...he didn't wake up when I carried him into Pappa's. He didn't wake up when I put him back in his seat to go to Noodles. He didn't wake up getting out and back in again at Noodles, nor at home...
...poor boy was O-U-T:

We made him wake up for some dinner though. We ate it in the living room in front of the first game of the college world series. LSU is in it!

After dinner we just did some more playing and hanging out in front of the game until it was time for the boys to go to bed. Jason and I finished Blood Diamond that night and that was his Father's Day.

Sounds like a great Father's Day. I am still in shock that E slept thru all those in and outs. My children would never do that. That is my dream...lol

Happy Father's Day, Jason!

I can't believe E slept like that. I can never even bring KayTar into the house without waking her.
