A Big Day for Easton

By the way, if you really want to see/re-see any of the "Bandwidth Exceeded" photos you can always click on it and still get to that photo (I believe).

Today has been great so far. Autumn had yet another great night. We managed to rush Dalton out of the boys' room before his early waking woke Easton...NICE! Started off as a good morning.

Jason stayed here with the younger two while I ran Easton to school. He's been doing that a lot since going back to work and it really is helpful to not have to ready and bundle 3 kids to get to school for 8:00. So anyway, I got back home and Dalton and I ate breakfast and waited on Baby Autumn to wake up and then we headed out for Target.

Here is Autumn showing her little pout at me:

And Dalton has taken to wearing his snow boots every single day since the snow last week:

Today is E's favorite gal Emily's birthday. And party. E has been looking forward to this day for a LONG time. It has popped up in his nightly prayers for the last week. It's a big day for sure. Easton and Emily play Batman and Batgirl on the playground a lot, I hear. So today he picked out his Batman shirt to wear for her. Isn't he the cutest?

He just adores Emily for some reason. (And yes, you're spot on in sensing that she's not my first choice for a daughter-in-law like he's already planning.)

Anyway, Emily apparently wants SpongeBob Operation so I bought it at Wal-Mart for $19.97 for her gift. Well, yesterday I learned about some toy coupons from Target. They're very specific but that SpongeBob Operation had a coupon for $5 off and it's already $2 cheaper at Target anyway. So we bought it again for $7 less and I'll return the WalMart one. Gotta love coupons, don't ya?

However, all that was to say that I told Emily's mom that I'd gotten the game (because I had) and I didn't want her telling anyone else that idea. But then Dalton, Autumn, and I went to Target today to get the second cheaper one and who do we see but Emily's mom! Ha! Luckily it was when we were walking in and she was on her cell phone so she just said "Hi" real quick and continued on without ever seeing us re-buy the game I already told her I have. The other weird part of this story is that it is the birthday of another of E's classmates today (Cianne) and we saw her mom at Target too.

After we finished at Target we went to pick up Easton and learned that he has "finished my sounds!!!"

This is a very big deal at his PreK. He is the 4th kid in his class of 20 to have completed that book above. Mrs. M won't make it official and let you move onto the "movable alphabet" works until it is clear you know all the letter sounds without getting tripped up on any which is why only 4 kids have completed their books so far. One kid (our buddy Jacob) finished his last year in preschool! Two girls (Daisy and our pal Tabor) finished theirs within the last couple of weeks and Easton told me about them both times which is what tipped me off that it's a really big deal to the kids. You get to ring a bell to announce it to the class and you get a special sticker and bring your book home since you won't be doing it at school anymore. I'm so proud of him. And he is SO proud of himself too! The thing that was so awesome was that he was also proud of Daisy and Tabor when they finished theirs too. It didn't sound like a competitive thing, really that he was proud of the girls. He rocks.

Now he's home and hard at work on his birthday card for Emily:

His little sibs are hard at work resting up for the bounce house action this afternoon.

Sometimes it's the small things in life that really make for a big day, eh?

Wow, I'm super impressed with E's sound skills! WTG!

I adore Autumn's bow too.

Autumn's little pout is super cute. Huge kuddos to the major school accomplishment. Way to go E!

From the picture I think we know who would run the relationship if it was Emily and E.

...and you are WAY nice for shelling out $20 for a birthday gift! I try to stick to $10-$15 for the kids in Izzy/Drew's class unless it is a really close friend. We just get invited to way too many parties these days!

Super proud of Eastie and his sounds book. You've got a smartie on your hands!

I think it's precious that Dalton wears snow boots everyday. :)

And yay for Autumn continuing to be awesome...especially with her nighttime sleeping. My friend Amy's baby is about Autumn's age and is sleeping 10-12 hour stretches already. You guys are LUCKY!!!!
