We have been quite busy, that's for sure.
Monday started off like every other Monday: doughnuts, of course! After breakfast we decided to go play at a mall and we hit the road. Well, when we got to the mall we discovered their play area had changed their hours for only 12:30-4:30. What???
Instead we decided to go to the "cool park" briefly but we wasted a lot of time driving to that mall. So we didn't get to stay at the park too long, just enough time to swing for a bit:
When Easton got the 5-minute warning he decided to do something other than swinging for his remaining time and went to explore the playground:
Then we came home for lunch, nap, and E's quiet time. He chose to play with his K'Nex and called me up all excitedly to show me what he'd made:
He did it all by himself and he was so proud. I asked what his name was. Naming things has never been something Easton is all that good at yet. But I thought it was cute when he said his name was "Spaghetti Man because he likes to eat a lot of spaghetti." Good enough for me!
After his room quiet time he moves into our room for a TV show or two for some more quiet time. He played with his Diego Rescue Center while he was in there instead and he played for soooooo long. I was really proud of him for playing so well by himself, but I kind of missed him too. So once Dalton woke up we went out for ice cream. Just because.
When Easton was close to being done he leaned back in his chair, stuck his feet up on the table, and declared he was going to "Reeeeeeee-lax!"
We walked to the grocery store near the ice cream store when we were done with our snack and picked up a few things. Then we came home for some actual dinner and to get ready for swimming. Easton was excited to swim again and was having fun on the ledge of the pool with one of the little boys in his class. They were kicking the water and splashing. The "spotter" chick that sat behind them to make sure no one drowns was much bossier than the dude last week and she kept yelling at them. Okay, she wasn't yelling, just telling them to stop. Repeatedly. But they have got to be soooo bored. Easton and Tommy (the kid) were also putting the top of their head in the water. Or sometimes their faces. Sure enough, Easton fell in again. And she jumped up to fish E out. He probably didn't need her to but she was quick. Anyway, she made him sit back by her instead of on the ledge with the other kids and he just sat and cried and looked over at us and kept shouting, "I want to go home, please!" He got over it eventually and went happily swimming along with his teacher later.
Dalton had to sit and watch once again. But I brought him snacks. He shared them with his Daddy. And Daddy was starving so he was really really grateful:
He even bummed a few bucks off me after that to go get more snacks. The time of swimming class is rather unfortunate...Jason meets us there from work and he's hungry and we can't eat until after the boys are in bed. We put them to bed right after class but...J was still thankful for the Cheez-Its. Bedtime went well, Dalton was only up once in the night. It was good.
Today when we woke up we made blueberry muffins and then got ready to go to the Children's Museum. They've been doing "Toesdays" in June where you can paint with your toes. I thought that sounded fun so we made it a point to go. We got there just after it opened and there was seriously maybe one other family in the whole place. The boys were excited to wear some of the costumes and we just had a nice, although short visit.
First we went to one of Easton's favorite "exhibits" and they both dressed up like little bunnies:
Then we made it over to the fire truck which is always really busy so it was nice to not have too many kids there having to take turns "driving". Dalton was excited about the fire doggie:
Then the boys dressed up like firemen:
And Dalton took an imaginary 911 call:
While Easton sped to the scene of the emergency:
When the firetruck started getting a little crowded we went to E's favorite puppet theater. He did a fish show and it sounded remarkably like the Finding Nemo plot. You can see Dalton "helping" behind the scenes:
It wasn't long after that when we heard an announcement overhead about going to make your own superhero cape. Perfect! We hightailed it down there for that project:
Diddles had to sit in a high chair and watch and play with the supplies:
We checked out the train tables too and whaddya know...more costumes for my boys. Well, just hats:
We stopped to play just a little basketball for Dalton:
Because then it was going to be time to toe-paint and Diddles couldn't do anything but watch...
...while Bubba painted:
It turned out to be pretty lame, the paint was just ground up sidewalk chalk mixed with water and it was pretty watered down, you could really only see a few wet footprints and that was it. Oh well. We tried.
We went inside again just to pick up our superhero cape and then we played at the park attatched to the parking lot for about two minutes. Dalton couldn't do anything and E kept getting sand in his shoes so I suggested we leave and we'd play at a different park later.
We came home for lunch and quiet time instead. After those were done we went to Chipotle for some pico de gallo...you can't buy it in the stores right now because of tomatoes and a salmonella outbreak. But I needed some for our dinner. That's seriously all we got and then we went to the little park right by our house for some swinging:
I had so much fun playing with Easton. I needed those giggles, too. It was lovely.
We went home to finish up dinner and wait for Daddy. And Dalton discovered a new trick while we ate:
They went to bed perfectly and Jason and I watched his "hard to find" rental from Father's Day. And that was our Monday and Tuesday.

You have got some HANDSOME men in your life!
:)
Love, Cori
Omg, that picture in front of the closed play area is pitiful! And poor Daddy, somebody tell the man to keep snacks in his car ;)
btw, it was your blog that inspired me to keep a separate blog just for my summer as a stay at home mom, so thank you Kristin & family!
Busy is right. That museum looks awesome. They boy's seem to have a blast.
Maybe J needs to pack a sandwich on swimming nights, poor guy!
Do you get skeeved out by the clothes and hats at the museum? I still let the kids play with them, if they must...but I'm just waiting for our first round of lice from it.
Looks like a fun couple of days!
Hey, where are those train tables?? I've never seen them, and Wee Laddie would so groove on playing *there.*
Great pics, as usual.
