Children's Museum

First off, I forgot to share a couple of things from yesterday. One being Easton branching out a bit. At the OB's office he was playing with toys as I mentioned, well, some other kids came in and started playing. He walked right up to them and told them, "Eastie's frog". He wasn't being possessive really, at least it didn't seem like it...he was just trying to start a convo about the cool frog he'd been playing with. The other kids ignored him :( but I've never seen him act like that with other kids. Pretty cute if he's starting to try to make pals with strange kids.

The other things worth mentioning are that on our ultrasound we could see that Deuce was practicing breathing (something they like to see on later term ultrasounds). We never saw that with Easton and whaddaya know...Easton's lungs weren't quite ready for the outside world. Pretty cool that Deuce is getting there, eh? And lastly, we almost didn't get our C-section day. Apparently they like to wait till you're 39 weeks along these days and well, 39 weeks falls on a Saturday and so they won't do scheduled C-sections then. So, she asked if we could do Monday the 26th (which was Easton's due date). Friday is just a much better day if you ask me... So, she said, "I might be able to talk them into Friday the 23rd..." and I told her that's what I'd prefer. So now it's a done deal...if I make it that far.

Since Easton was such an angel yesterday his reward was going to the Children's Museum for the first time today. Kidding...my mom friend Erin and I had been planning on taking our kiddos since last week. So, that's what we did today. Would you believe I had to wake Easton up at 9:00!?!? He went to bed right on time last night too. Crazy. I think he would've slept quite a bit longer...when I went to wake him he wasn't quite ready. But, he recovered quickly and had some cereal and milk in the car on the way down.

When we got there we first played on the real fire truck they have with lights and sirens and all...Easton even dressed the part:

Then we moved on to this really fun play area that had all sorts of "stations" for different aged kids and then for different activities. Here is E sitting in a tree making a scrunchy face at Erin:

At first he kept trying to go into the areas for much younger kids so I'd have to re-direct to things he was "allowed" to do. He absolutely loved this play house they had and he and Lilly both played in there for a very long time, he'd make and drink tea and then he did some laundry:

He tucked the baby in the top bunk:

And crawled into the bottom bunk to rest himself:

It was pretty cool. While the kids played, Erin and I were able to watch them but talk amongst ourselves. Independent play is important if you ask me and Easton had a blast.

Just what every parent wants...for their kid to learn to unscrew things:

We moved upstairs to the kid-sized basketball court:

Erin was nice and would lift him up to make baskets but he also practiced his jump shot:

They went shopping in the tot sized grocery store:

And tried some painting...not great for E...he hated the paint on his hands and that place had paint EVERYWHERE:

Then the little stinker demanded that I take him back down to the firetruck:

He threw a heck of a fit after I took him off of the truck. We almost had to go home. But instead he was talked into going back upstairs to their woodland play area. It was another place I could let him just run around and he'd come check in with me from time to time. Here he is telling me he just got a bonk:

He bonked his head in this here tunnel:

This picture makes me laugh because you see that stripey shirted kid up in the corner. Well, his mom was taking a picture of him but Easton saw the camera out and sat looking at her and said, "Cheese!" Ha ha!

We finished up with some coloring:

And after 3 hours decided to call it a day.

Easton had a blast there. Now I've just got to worry abuot all the potential germs he might've picked up in time for his birthday. :) We'll see. I slathered some hand sanitizer on him when we left and took off his clothes when we got home. But, you never know.

I'm now trying to decide if I want to buy a membership to the Children's Museum with some of the "fun money" the Maws sent E for Christmas. Deuce would be free until he's 1 year old. I'm gonna think about it. I love having our zoo memebership but of course it's been too cold lately. Today would've been a nice day to go to the zoo, actually but we had other plans. Oh well. The zoo membership doesn't expire until May.

Well, once we got home I thought Easton was worn out. He acted like he was going down for his nap so easily but he started crying about 10-15 minutes after I left him and he was all tangled up in his "buckah". Then he did go to sleep but only slept for an hour. I guess he did most of his sleeping last night. That's fine. Should make bedtime easy tonight.

Alright, so with all these pictures for you I'm gonna call it a day...bye for now!

Just trying to get caught up. I did a lot of reading today. I was glad to read about some of your OB visits. What a great childrens museum. I look forward to doing those things with Wren. We will have to drive up to Portland however...but that means a good meal at some yummy restaurant. I was wandering- when is Easton's B-day?

What a fun day! That place looks awesome. Easton just has the sweetest personality. Him talking to his brother during your ultrasounds is about the sweetest thing I've ever heard.
