So, today was our trip to church and AJ was sweetly wondering how it went. So I'll tell all of you. :)
My mom and sister arrived to watch the boys and stood on my porch knocking, calling, and ringing for 10 minutes till I turned off my breastpump and heard them. Um, oops! I'm still really sorry about that.
But otherwise that part went just swimmingly. Dalton slept great. Easton pottied great. Good times.
Church was good. It has been a very long time since I've been to church, I'm sad to say. I think the last time was Easter either right before or right after J and I got engaged...anyway...
I didn't get to see the "regular" pastor today. "The B team" as the other pastor so hilariously referred to himself was who spoke today and I really liked him. He was soooooo funny in addition to being all the other good stuff you look for in a pastor. Anyway, I liked the church, I felt comfortable there, the music (which is important to us) was great, people actually seemed excited to be there (some churches can be so dry which is just not for us)...
I don't think it was a "perfect" church, but I also don't think that exists for us. I think this might be it. I won't say it yet, especially having only gone once and not having heard the main pastor, but it's still a very strong maybe. Maybe even graduating to a "probably". :)
It was good getting just to be in a church and hear a timely message about being thankful. There were some very entertaining parts too...like the movie preview-type thing they did "advertising" the nativity series beginning next week. I don't know if they bought it or are just very talented. I'm anxious to see/hear more from them, so that's a good thing, right?
I'm not sure if we'll jump into bringing the boys just yet or if I'll go a week by myself...or maybe one of us will go to the 1st service and then the other will watch the boys and then take them in the car to meet up and switch "jobs". I dunno... I think my vote is to give me one more visit to really make up my mind on this particular church before I subject Easton to Sunday School or whatever they call it there.
I'm hopeful...
Anyway, that's the Sunday scoop...
Back for more tomorrow...which is probably today since I'm posting a little late today...

Yay! That's awesome that you liked it so well and felt comfortable there. Is it a large or small church? Did there seem to be many children?
I know you are weary of taking the boys and I don't expect it to be easy in the beginning, especially for Easton as it will be a brand-new experience. However, I think it is something he will grow to love. No joke...going to church is Adam's favorite outing of the week (he would choose this over the park, playing with friends, Chuck E Cheese, you name it...).
I'm really excited for you guys!
I think I meant to say "leery" instead of "weary" earlier, but not entirely sure if that's right either. N-e-ways, you knwo what I mean. :)
That is great Kristin! I am really happy for you guys and hope this is the one for your family.
Some of the things you described about the church sounds very close to our old church. We loved that one!
YAY!!! We have a church we really like, it is just that we haven't been in ages because of Katie. We stopped going before we knew anything was "wrong" because she would get so upset that she'd puke all over everyone. Fun. Maybe once she starts school in Feb we'll give it a whirl, once she's used to "strangers" a little bit.
I'm glad the church thing went well! I think having the right pastor can make or break a church. I like it when they are down to earth and entertaining.
