We hung out and checked out our new stuff much of the morning, playing the Wii:
And E's Leapster:
Dalton took advantage of our preoccupation with the Wii to go up and play with Bubba's toys some more:
After awhile I got ready in a new Christmas shirt that Jason was looking forward to seeing on me...
...and I took Dalton out to run some errands with me in the morning. We needed batteries for Robbie the Robot and Dalton badly needed a new filter for his humidifier.
Easton and J played more Wii and such whilst we were out:
He's a great Wii boxer.
When we got home with the batteries E was able to check out their new robot:
Dalton looked on (and enjoyed it!) while he ate his lunch:
When the boys went in for nap and Q.T., my sister came by to pick me up for a shopping outing.
I need her trendy influence when it comes to picking out new stuff. She had me shopping quite a bit in the Kohl's juniors section which was fun and I got quite a lot of stuff. Hooray! I still look like a mom, just less frumpy more up-to-date stuff to mix in with my old frumpy stuff. :)
Then we moved on to shoes at DSW. I am even cheaper than I realized when we were shopping in the clearance section and it still felt too pricey:
I bought these but I'm still not sure about them, a lot of it has to do with price:
Looking at these...
...Jessica was all, "obviously you'll wear these for awhile and get your money's worth". 'Tis true, those black Sketchers are from probably my sophomore or junior year of college. I suck. Those are shoes I'm trying to replace too, however.
Next we moved over to look at glasses. Jason thinks I would be cute as "funky glasses girl" on the rare occasions I wear glasses. So Jessica helped me out with that:
Jason's not thinking any of them are fitting his idea of "funky" too much. Boo. I guess I'm just not thinking I can pull it off, or even that I necessarily want to. I like most of the ones I'm modeling above. I guess I'll have to bring J with me when I actually go buy some. Or maybe not. I'm the one that wears them although I do still try to impress my husband and wear things he likes as long as I don't hate them.
When I got home I uploaded a ton of pictures from Jessica's camera which took forever and then the boys, Jason, and I went out to look for a new tree topper on clearance. Couldn't find one. So instead we bought a pizza, an extra Wii controller (it only came with one) and came home.
The end.

LOVE the brown shoes. So cute!!! Moo
Okay, I don't know why, but I found that entire post too funny! Maybe cause I can relate to all the mom stuff. However, chances are if I find a cute pair of shoes that I know I will wear the heck out of then I will buy them. You want to know the UGLIEST shoes I own, but my most worn and comfy pair...fuzzy crocs! Every time I put them on I think how flippin ugly they are, yet so darn easy and comfy. You should consider getting some for your mom errands :)
Super cute shoes! I can't wait to see the rest of your new "hip" clothes.
I totally hear you on being cheap. I can't even remember the last time I bought myself a new pair of shoes. Enjoy your new stuff.
Yay for a Wii. Aliya was our super boxer back before she broke her arm. Since then she has lost the ability to whoop every adult male that came in our house since we got it.
I love the new shoes. I need to find me some new brown shoes too. And I think all of the glasses were cute.
I need new brown shoes! Heck, I need new black shoes. I usually wear my Converse with black stuff. LOL. Classy.
Shopping for myself makes me so tired, but I looove bringing home new stuff. I usually shop at Kohls, too. Good selection usually.
I think we got similar shoes for Micah for his birthday because they have the one strap that crisscrosses.
I like the glasses on you. That would be fun to find a pair to be funky in.
Lot of fun with the Wii. Sounds like you guys are naturals.
Yay for Wii! Isn't it fun?! We are just obsessed with Guitar Hero over here. We play it ever single night. That's our exciting plan for New Years Eve tonight. ;)
I also think you are cute in those glasses! I'm hoping to get a new pair in the next month...not sure how funky I'll go though.
