I'm so sorry to have disappeared like that on y'all. Sometimes I lose motivation for one reason or another. I guess this is/was one of those times. Also, the thought of blogging about my Texas trip is a little daunting right now after how long it took to recap our week in K.C. So, we'll see about that one. Plus, I don't have all the pictures I want from Texas...my sister took some (a LOT!) and I'm waiting on that CD too.
But, of course life has continued and we need to talk about all that...
Dalton is, like, all grown up now. Okay, maybe not. But he has REALLY changed since I last really blogged. I told you he can get himself into sitting position...so the other day (Wednesday or Thursday last week) I found him sitting in his crib for the first time:
It kinda surprised me. I gasped or something and made him cry. That boy is my "feeler". He is quite sensitive.
Last Thursday (11/1 for my own record-keeping purposes) he also learned another new trick:
In case you can't quite tell, he can pull himself up to a standing position now! So, with that new ability we had to do this:
We had to lower his crib mattress so he couldn't pull up and topple out.
He still prefers army crawling but man that kid can totally get around. Just last night we were all playing in his room when Dalton decided to leave us to go to Easton's room. Then he came back. It was very cute. You gotta watch that boy. His favorite things are electrical cords and trash bags. Great. Not exactly child friendly there but that kid is determined. I'll relocate him or try to distract him to no avail. Unless I'm distracting him with the cat. He loves the cat.
Dalton just all of a sudden seems smarter too, with his new abilities.
It's weird how I kind of associate the two. I'm sure I shouldn't. But I guess now he's able to show some of his smarts or his memory or whatever and then it makes me think how my kids are both geniuses. :) Of course I'm their mom so I may be a tad biased.
Dizz is working on his 4th tooth any day here. And naps haven't been going great the past few days...that's a new thing. He'd always go down for his naps just fine (even if he wouldn't stay down past 45 minutes). Today seems better so we'll see.
He says "Ma ma" all the time but I don't think he associates it with me quite yet. I pretend that he does mean to call me Mama which Easton finds amusing. So, in the car D will go, "Ma ma" and I'll say, "Yes, Dalton?" Then E laughs. Then we do it again. Easton is sooooo proud of Dalton's new skills. I think he realizes one day they'll be able to really play together. I left both boys in E's room the other day so I could run to the bathroom. Easton followed me to the bathroom but then told me, "I'm going to go back to me room and watch Dalton crawl." Or he'll tell me, "I want to help Dalton walk" (which Dalton sooooo does not "get"). Yesterday E set some of his own toys around his room and Dalton would crawl to them and pick them up at which point Easton would take it from D and say, "Oh thanks, Dalton!" and put it on his shelf.
I have some videos but I currently can't view them on the laptop so therefore I can't pick them to upload somewhere. But I have one of the very first time Diddlebug pulled up to standing. And I have one of him standing and Easton shouting, "Look at Dalton! Look at Dalton!" Way to brag on his little bro, eh?
Well, that was a lot about D, but E's been doing stuff too. For instance, he pooped in the potty on Monday for the first time since, like, July!!! It was very exciting! He got all the bribes we had talked about...and here he is with them:
He got a toy which is a Buzz Lightyear key ring kind of thing. He got a sucker. He got an extra serving of juice for that day and we're on our way out the door to go to the ice cream store. But not before E locks up:
He walked into Baskin Robbins and showed the lady behind the counter his new toy and told her that he got it because he pooped in the potty. She did not understand him and I did not fill her in. He picked green chocolate chip for his treat:
Notice his little keys on the table?
Dalton opted for toesicles:
A little while later that day I was up nursing Dalton or something and Easton pooped in his pants. Which he tried to clean up himself. Oh, how I wish he wouldn't have done that. It was an awful poo-tastrophe. Ick ick ick. I wasn't mad at him at all, he was trying to be helpful but at one point I just had him sit on his little potty so I could clean up the poo that was everywhere: in the sink, on the sink, on the floor, soap dispenser, outside of toilet, inside of toilet, hands, legs, FACE...ugh. Well, having to sit on the potty made him mad and he screamed at me till he puked. Then he put his hands in my hair. So we both took a shower. He hasn't pooped since then so who knows what'll happen next? :)
Other than that, he's been very enjoyable lately and is really loving his time on the laptop while I fold laundry or empty the dishwasher:
Or he made what he said was a truck with PlayDoh the other day:
Isn't it fantastic?
For the most part I try not to let him nap still, but sometimes he does anyway, despite my best efforts:
I always regret it come bedtime.
Today he was being particularly sweet and entertaining. I told him so. Then he told me, "I'm you favorite." I could only laugh.
I took this picture of him today just because I thought his little outfit with matching shoes was pretty cute:
I did a couple of Photoshop actions on it, just for fun. I really need to get better with Photoshop after seeing what Amanda has been doing lately.
Well, anyway, hopefully you're feeling more caught up again after my little hiatus. These boys sure keep me on my toes and I love every minute of it. Well, I could have done without that clean up the other day.
Anyway, I won't be gone so long next time...

Awww! Dizzle's growing up! Wow!
And hooray for pooping Eastie! Yay! Just don't do such a good job helping next time. LOL.
Thanks for such a newsie report. I miss them. When I first glanced at the ice cream visit and Dalton's toesicles I read testicles. Must be more thorough in my reading. It changes the content. Moo
Yay for long picture filled posts!
I'm so impressed with all of Dalton's new skillz. He really is growing up into a big boy. Sigh...
So proud of Easton for the potty pooping. Adam would totally approve of his icre-cream choice. That's the only flavor he ever chooses!
Oh my, I can't believe the mess you had to clean up with the not-so successful pooping attempt. Like I literally can't fathom it. So, so gross. I'm sure my time will come someday. NOT looking forward to that!
I laughed out loud about Easton claiming to be your favorite. And again at Moo's comment! :)
Whoa! Blink and you miss it huh?? D is just growing in leaps and bounds!!! I still love his smile! Gorgeous baby!!!
E is doing fantastic too! I'm always impressed by pooping on the potty! It's unfortuantely the next batch of poop didn't quite make it there but I'm sure it was just a fluke!
I love your stories and your pics! I can totally understand your need for a little break.
Look at D go!! That is alot of new stuff in such a short time. Just like Gracie.
And YAY for E doing number 2 on the potty! I too am so about the bribes. Whatever takes on some issues.
I love hearing about how E and D interact. So cute and sweet at these ages. I am sure we won't be saying that in the all too near future. LOL.
