Friday night we had a realtor friend come over...we're trying to decide whether to refinance or move. Jason would love to be closer to work and while our house fits us...that's it...it fits just us. No room for guests, no room for that potential 3rd kid I've got my eye on one day. :) So, we'd love some room to grow as well. We met with our pal and were pleased and hopeful with the way things sounded and what he brought to the table. On Saturday we met with another realtor...a good friend of my mom's who worked some miracles on some of her investment properties and also happens to be the one handing down just about all of Easton's clothes over the years. We owed her at least a meeting, right? She brought some comps to the table and things looked rather bleak and discouraging. She was like, "You guys don't have any rich uncles, do you?" Nope. So now we don't know what we're gonna do... Not a seller's market right now, we knew that. Guess we gotta talk to the first guy again and see if he's got the same thoughts or other ideas. Tell him, Sam. :)
Saturday wasn't all bad, though...we all headed down to my mom's 'hood and she and I took off for a craft fair just the two of us. Boy do I wish I was crafty. I didn't buy a thing but my mom made up for it and then some. I found some ideas. Who knows if I'll ever get around to any of them? Although we are planning to take a Christmas wreath class together. Won't that be fun?
Anyway, after the craft fair the plan was for her to babysit the little guys and Jason and I could have a date. We used part of that time to meet with the other realtor and then we did indeed head to see Fred Claus with Vince Vaughn. We thought it was too early to go to a Christmas flick and we wanted to see American Ganster but it was too long and didn't work well with meeting with the realtor. Oh well. I'm sure we'll see it one day. Russell Crowe is in it and he totally reminds me of my ex-husband. Jason's ex totally resembles Joan Cusack...let's hope those two don't ever do a movie together, right? We probably wouldn't see that one. :)
While we were at my moms, Easton decided what he wants for Christmas from Santa:
We were playing an online game with Santa and Easton even told the computer Santa: "Santa, please bring me some drums." I am sure Santa heard him and just now has to find one that wasn't made in China to give him lead poisoning. Totally cute!
By the way, he knew to do the drum roll (moving from drum to drum) and finishing with the cymbal all on his own!
On Sunday Jason found a "strong maybe" for a church for us. So, next week is Phase II of our Find-a-Church plan and Moosie is coming to sit on the boys ;) while Jason and I attend the church together. I'm feeling hopeful! Jason would be harder to fit church-wise so it's looking good. Yay!
After that we watched the Broncos who creamed the Cheifs (sorry, AJ) and since it was such an early game we had to figure out something to do in the afternoon. Jason felt like accomplishing something. But with the kids underfoot it's hard to really tackle any big projects. So, we opted for cleaning out our closet. It's kind of sad to see the large pile of clothes we have that we're getting rid of simply because of "it's always linty/wrinkly/curling where it shouldn't..." Instead of just donating to the Salvation Army like we usually do, this time I had the idea to take it to a batttered women's shelter. Well, my stuff anyway... Jason's things can go to Salvation Army still. Too bad I'm too lazy to iron. If the dryer can't get the wrinkles out then it goes in my "to be ironed..." area that gets taken care of maybe twice a year at most. I'm happy to say that I didn't have to get rid of anything because it no longer fits! (I did that after Easton was born, though). I got rid of things that are just not appropriate for a mother of two to wear or things that just are way out of style. Good times. We'll be heading to a shelter I found online that takes such donations later this week.
Last night poor Dalton's 4th tooth was finally starting to pop through. But the poor little dude kept crying out in his sleep. Jason is always a fan of little D coming in bed with us (suprisingly, eh?) so around 1:30 I brought him in. I think he felt better. He's been sleeping pretty well lately, actually, so I hope this darn tooth doesn't set us back too much. We shall see. It's just barely poking through in one tiny spot so far. Maybe another day or two for it to fully break through the gum. Ouch!
Anyway, today was doughnut day. And both boys are napping now. Easton was just way too grumpy not to nap today. We have no other plans than maybe some Wal-Marting. But that means figuring out what's for dinner and I just don't wanna do that right now.
Here's a few pics of my rough-housers before you go...

Yeah, we are the same way about the house thing. Except we have to put work into it before it is market ready, anyway. But because the market isn't seller friendly, we're reluctant to do it right now. We'll see.
Eastie is a good drummer! Katie loves it too, but my parent's only have a kiddo sized set. Nathan saw Eastie drumming and said, "Does he have permission from his parents to be using those grown up drums?" LOL.
Looks like there are several of us in the same house position. Too bad I have a serious case of the house-hunting bug right now.
Easton's drumming was awesome!!! Hope Santa can work something out for him. ;)
Adam saw the pics of the boys playing together and he said that Easton was saying "Come 'ere!!!" in a very scary sounding voice to Dalton. I love that Dalton is big enough to wrestle now. Fun times!
The wrestling match is hilarious!! What an awesome drummer E is!
Sorry to hear you got to opposing opinions on your house . . . selling the house has been the hardest part of this whole thing. Good luck!!
Good luck with the house decisions. Those are hard ones and like you said, it definitely isn't a seller's market anymore. Boo. I am so thankful we are staying put till we retire because the thought of going through all that again makes my head hurt. Needless to say, it wasn't fun.
Love E playing the drums! It looks like he is going to be a musician just like his daddy.
And that is terrific news on the church front! I hope this is the one. Definitley update on that when you go on Sunday. Our church plan is just that....a plan. I really want and need to get that plan into action.
I am so glad D is sleeping better for you!! Hopefully that toofer won't stop any progress that has been made in the sleep department.
And lastly, those pics were awesome. Your kiddos are ALL BOY!! Such a huge contrast from my house with all the shoes, purses, and babies!
I'll be sure to pass along the info to Brian. He's really good at what he does, and I'm not being biased just b/c he's my husband. Loved the pics of the boys wrestling. I can't believe how big D is.
