Easton did not sleep well last night which is strange. At one point near midnight he was calling out for me. J was still up so he went in to see him and E said he was scared but wouldn't elaborate. Then again just after 5 this morning he was in there moaning. I went in and he was fine. I had to wake him for school at nearly 7:30 and he was so tired I left him to sleep a few minutes longer. It's weird 'cause he's been calling at 7:00 on the nose the last week or so, at least. Which means he was awake before then. Don't know what was up. Hope he's better tonight.
School went well again today. I've stopped initiating anything with our school friends yet none of them are calling us. Oh well. And I turned in the permission slip for Easton's first field trip which is next week. That will be fun, it's a family thing so I hope to potentially meet more of his classmates' parents.
They had some reptiles at the school to visit today. Easton got to see "a big yellow snake. It was huge!" He said he didn't touch though. I asked why not and he said he just didn't. He said, "I told Mrs. M I wanted to touch them." And I said, "Yeah, what did she say?" and he replied, "Listen." Hmmm, me thinks he may be a bit of a rascal at school. Although he did report that, "Mama! The little girl scooched over so I could stand next to Isaac!" That means no pushing, right? Whew.
While E was at school not listening and not petting reptiles, Dalton and I went to check out a Sit and Stand from someone on Craigslist. We ended up taking it. Yay! I've been wanting a double stroller ever since Dalton got too tall to wear in the Snugli and I had to start shoving them in the stroller together. I didn't get a "great" deal, but it was good enough. I'm happy with it. And Eastie was quite excited too!
When we got home from picking E up at school I told him about the stroller and we wanted to take it out for it's maiden voyage so we went on a short stroll around the neighborhood:
Then we came in for lunch (mac and cheese) and D went down for his nap. Easton stayed out of Q.T. for just a smidge so that we could bake some Halloween "Place and Bake" cookies together:
We have to go up to Boulder this afternoon, Dalton has a doctor's appointment and both boys are due for blood draws. I've had the lab reqs up on my fridge for months, actually, and I've just been dreading taking them again. It's hard to have to restrain your babies while you let someone hurt them. I didn't break the news to Easton till we got home from school and he started whimpering and was saying, "I don't want to take a shot." Poor fella. He said, "Mama, let's make a deal. How 'bout I don't?" I had to tell him I was sorry, but no deal. But the bright side is that afterwards we're going to have dinner with Daddy in Boulder (he got a coupon to the nearby California Pizza Kitchen!) and we'll also get to bring some fresh-baked cookies to "Daddy and his friends at work". I hope it works out that there are still some "friends" there once we get there.
The boys are in their rooms now while I'm here catching y'all up. And I guess that'll do it. :)

Good luck with the labs and appointment this afternoon! I hate, hate, hated restraining K for that stuff...but like I said at Julie's today, she has stopped fighting it. Learned helplessness, which might just be more sad.
Oh I so hope the labs went okay. I was having panic attacks about doing that with Athena. Got a repreive though, thankfully. I hope your sweet boys are more cooperative than my little headstrong princess would have been.

I hope the boys did good at their appt today. Shot are no fun. I hate that pause before they realize the pain and then give you the look. Heartbreaking.
Cool stroller btw. I hope you get alot of use out of it.
Yay, you got the stroller! Looks great. Do you guys go for walks in your neighborhood often? I don't remember you mentioning it much before.
Hope the doctor's appointments went well today and that Easton was able to be brave. I think it's cute (yet sad) that he tried to make a deal beforehand.
At least he got to go have dinner out with daddy. That's always fun!
I hope you like the stroller! That is like ours.
Sorry you had to do the labs. Its tough.
