Beans Everywhere!

Oh no! Easton apparently can't keep a secret. He spilled the Father's Day beans. Well...to his credit I never told him anything was a secret or not to tell. And we didn't end up getting/doing this "secret" anyway. But, here's the scoop: yesterday morning we were heading in to get pictures of the boys done as a Father's Day gift. Poor Easton tripped in the parking lot and skinned both his knees. Ouchie. But right before portraits? Bummer. Anyhoo...when Jason got home at night he was asking Easton about his knees. And, he started kind of playing a little game with him where you ask questions you know are wrong. So, Jason started going, "Did you fall down going to the library?" Jason knew we didn't go to the library and Easton did the whole, "Nooooo" to answer the question. Then J said, "Did you fall down going to get doughnuts?" "Nooooo...take pictures." The beans. Jason picked up on it right away and I'm such an Honest Abe that I couldn't think of any way to play it off. So...Jason found out we went to have pictures done.

But there's more...we didn't actually get any pictures done. I showed up for our appointment and we had to wait 25 minutes. 2 small kids? That was annoying, to say the least. Well, once it was finally our turn Easton tried but we didn't get anything good especially because Dalton, normally the World's Happiest Baby, decided to cry and cry instead. Grrr. I told her, "I think we need to reschedule" and I did. For later that day (this is the last week if you want the pictures by Father's Day). But by the time our appointment time rolled around both boys were still sleeping and I wasn't about to wake them for another awful experience so I called to reschedule again and they didn't answer or call back. So I gave up. I guess he didn't really spill any beans after all. We'll take some pictures at home instead. Surprise, J!

Today Jason went in to work for a little bit but suggested we all drive up to Boulder (where work is) to have breakfast. Then the plan was to drop Jason off at the office for a spell while the boys and I headed to Boulder's awesome Farmer's Market. Parking is usually quite scarce anyway but since it's Memorial Day weekend it's also Boulder Creek Festival time which I had forgotten. So the whole area was a complete zoo and I wasn't about to attempt it with the two kids for just 45 minutes before we'd have to go get J. So we went to the new open air mall instead and I found jeans!!! I tried them on but I had Dalton in the Snugli too so I'll have to get a better look without him to make sure I really like them. I think I do. Eddie Bauer. And they're long enough! I think. Yippee!

We also found this globey water feature thing that Easton liked. I took pictures but they're still on the camera and I'm too lazy tonight to go upload them. They had a cute store called "Mutt tropolis" which I thought was clever and they had a bunch of fancy doggie and kitty stuff inside. And dogs were welcome to shop. We saw a little dog outside and his owner told us, "We're just test-driving this harness." Um, that's nice, I thought, but I politely said, "Oh? So, what do you think?" And she said, "I think it's a little hot for summer." Oh. Okay. Thanks for sharing. But at least Easton got to look at her dog for a bit. We grabbed some bagels from Panera for tomorrow's breakfast and went to get Jason.

We got home and the boys did their naps. I snuck a short one in as well. Then we went out for dinner tonight too. There is a Vietnamese restaurant right by our house that I don't like but we couldn't come up with anything better and Jason really wanted to go there and eat shrimp. So we went. Our little parrot overheard some of the staff talking and went, "Ngao ngao ngao" to us. Jason and I had to try so hard not to laugh at him trying to speak Vietnamese. J looked at me and said, "We can laugh in the car. I don't want to encourage him." But it was soooo funny. Easton used some of the food morsels on his plate to create a "funny face". A half-eaten fruit leather was the head and he used assorted bits of peanuts, grains of rice, and rice noodles to complete the face. The noodle smile was my idea.

His food creations remind me of another little E anecdote: like most tots he tends to play with his food. A lot of times he'll take a few bites of something and then move to poking holes in it with his finger and then telling us that he made Lauren or Gramoo. A bite here or there apparently turns it into someone else. So, that's the "funny" Easton part. But I made what I thought was an amusing joke the other night. He was "making" his relatives out of a piece of bread so I summoned my inner Haley Joel Osment and whispered, "I see bread people". Get it??? No?!?! Jason didn't think it was funny either. But then he said, "Bread rum" like "Red rum" which wasn't funny at all. His didn't even make sense for the situation. But I felt I had to tell the whole story.

Anyway, sorry for no pictures. I'll try again tomorrow. And I'll try to talk a bit about Dalton tomorrow too. He took a lengthy nap today and rode in the Snugli and that's about it. Okay...time for me to go to bed. Night!

I want to go to the Boulder market.I love farmers markets. We went to ours this morning- it was so busy (not my favorite) plus all the strawberries were sold out! Boo Hoo.

I would love to have "profesional" pictures of wren done. I think I will make the appointment Monday, well Tuesday since MOnday is a holiday. Thanks for the idea! I would LOVE to get one done of all three kids but Dani will screw it up by making some dumb face like she ALWAYS does- goober!

I sure do wish Blogger had spell check in the comments portion:>>

No pictures? Nooooo! *lol*

We've NEVER done professional pictures of the kids. We have them of Nathan from his daycare days, and of course school photos this year, but none of Katie or the two of them. We've been waiting for her to be able to stand independently for well over a year! I was going to do them for her first birthday, but I thought "I'll just wait a bit longer until she is standing." Ha! So this summer we are definitely doing them!

I love Easton's food people...too cute! I totally would have said something like that...and Josh totally would have rolled his eyes. *lol*

I laughed at both "bread people" and "bread rum." So you either like me or think I'm annoying. :P

Oops, I forgot. What were the jeans at Eddie Bauer? You may be taller (you're definitely thinner) than me, but I *so* have length issues with jeans.

Have you tried Levi's 505s at Kohl's? They're straight leg and they have them in long, usually.
