Guess what I got to do this morning. I cancelled Easton's surgeries. For good reasons. His eye is completely better. And not just for a few days...it's been almost 4 weeks and nothing. We are shocked. The tear duct probing was a surgery we should have had done just after he turned a year old. Because "if they don't open by then, they probably never will". But, because of insurance reasons and him possibly needing Clarence surgery as well we put it off. So, as you know from keeping up with my blog religiously (right?) I finally took him to the 3 hour eye clinic appointment and we decided to go ahead with surgery. It was scheduled for next Tuesday. Back at the end of April (the 21st) we were at that dumbo gumbo party and his eye was horrid. The parents of the other kid there were questioning whether their kid should be playing with Easton or not. After that last infection his eye cleared up. Pretty much every day for 28 months now we've had to deal with frequent tearing at the very least, his left eye always had a small pool of water in it, and at most he had eye infections. But for the last 4 weeks NADA! No tearing, no goobies, nothing. I called last Monday to talk to his eye doctor about it. I figured she'd want to see him and his eye. But, she wouldn't be able to tell for sure...it's mostly based on his symptoms with tearing and eye goobies and stuff. So she said, "Let's go ahead and cancel it. Then, if it comes back--which I think it might--we'll reschedule." Eek! I wasn't expecting her to say that. So...the scheduler called to cancel it and offered to let us wait to see if it was still good through the weekend. Bright sunlight has always made him tear and we had sunny plans. Then whenever he'd wear sunscreen that was always sure to aggravate his "condition". But, 2 days in a row of bright sun and sunscreen and he still had a normal eye. So today I cancelled it all. Since we can technically wait a few more years on the umbilical hernia that's our plan. Heck, it could still go away on it's own too. Thank you to those who prayed for this (Grammy!). We are so thrilled our sweet boy doesn't have to go through surgery just yet.
In other news...and photos...
Our pirate. Easton asked me to put "Tato Head's" earring on him. He was fine for a few minutes then right when I went to take a picture he decided he wanted it "Oss". He has a hard time with "f"s.
Easton has been a big sweetie this morning. He was especially patient and polite while I nursed Dalton. I knew Dizz would go back to sleep when I nursed him so I asked Easton to please be quiet. He did even better and left the room. I heard him in his room go, "Want instruments, please, Mama". I told him that was very nice asking but I was still feeding Dalton and I'd get them for him in just a minute. He asked nicely one more time before I was done with D but he wasn't impatient by toddler standards. I finished with D, got E his "Band in a Box" and we went and played instruments in my room for a bit before I hopped in a quick shower. He kept playing his little percussion instruments. Good boy.
He was still being super when we headed down for breakfast and asked nicely if he could "watch Gubby?" (Oobi) so I said he could and offered a picnic breakfast in front of the TV which he was excited about. Dalton joined us about halfway through:
And this picture is for Kyla to say that "No, not all his pictures turn out that well"
As a completely random side note, I think D kinda looks like Addison from Grey's Anatomy in this picture, especially with that expression. Anyway...
After breakfast Easton decided it was time to strip. He is a weirdo and lately prefers to take his top off backward by sliding it down his legs instead of over his head.
I wonder why that started? Anyway, Dizzle needed to be stripped too thanks to yakking and so the nakeys chilled in front of the TV for a few minutes:
Then they let me take some comparison shots. First the thighs:
And then their feetsies:
This is what they did while I was taking the thigh pictures, plus you can compare their bellies in this one too:
Dalton is gigantic. Jason was saying how Dalton doesn't seem that big to him, but then again we don't know what "normal" is in this house. D was wearing a 9 month sized onesie yesterday...that tells me he's probably bigger than "normal". :)
Once Dalton went down for his nap (which Easton continued being an angel while I put D down) Easton and I put his jammies back on and went to play in the backyard. We did lots and lots of bubbles:
We also did some drawing with sidewalk chalk and shared some fruit juice popsicles (sorry J):
Here's a slideshow of pictures from all that fun:
Pictures outside always turn out so much better than the ones inside, don't they? I promise I take pictures of Dalton, he just sleeps a lot and misses out on some of the other photo ops. Poor kid.
Well, they both went down for naps so easily and within just a few minutes of each other. Tonight is the Bachelor finale and Chick-fil-a. Awesome, dudes!

What a fun morning! Adam would have been all about it...bubbles are his favorite! I would've stopped at the same time too...bees & wasps freak me out big time.
Love the side by side photos of the boys.
Lastly, a big WOO HOO for Easton! That's so wonderful that he doesn't have to have the surgeries now. I'm so glad his eye cleared up on his own. Clarence has gotten so much better over time...maybe it will become a non-issue too. What a relief for mommy!
Yay for no surgeries! That is great news!
Dalton is clearly the winner of the thighs and bellies competition, and Easton wins the foot category. :)
Even when he isn't striking a pose, Dizzle is still completely adorable! And I can actually see the Addison thing a little.
Looks like you and Easton had fun outside. I agree about the outdoor photos, I'm always more pleased with shots I've done outside than indoors.
I knew I was forgetting something! The pirate photo is priceless!! :)
