Whew...well, my sister has already been here and gone. It was a short but sweet visit. She arrived Saturday afternoon and I took Easton with me to pick her up. He always gets so so excited to see distant relatives but then he gets a little shy again at first (Gramoo and Lauren don't count--he gets excited to see them, just not shy). It never takes long for him to warm up again and on the way home he kept calling, "Jess! Jess!" from the backseat and would then say something random like, "The sky is blue" as he pointed out the window.
When we arrived at the house Dizzle was sleeping so she peeked at him and all his chunky glory and when he woke up she got to meet her second nephew:
And she brought presents! Texas tortillas and gigantic pecan chewies for me like she always does. What a sister! The boys got books: Easton loved his collection of Seuss books (he's a Seuss fan, but who isn't?) and Dalton got a "baby's first library":
Easton is enjoying that as well. A lot, actually. D got a new summer outfit too. Yay! Thanks, Auntie Jess!
That night my mom and other sister came up and brought dinner so Easton enjoyed goofing around for all of us:
And he loves Auntie Lauren as always.
The next day was my 3rd Mother's Day. Wow. I'm, like, tenured. Anyway...I've already updated on most of that but here's me and my boys checking out my wonderful gifts:
Jason was nice and offered to take a less squinty one of me. But Easton was cuter in the top one. Oh well. I'm not looking my best in my morning attire anyway.
Easton chilled in front of Toy Story:
Whilst Jason was hard at work on breakfast:
It turned out absolutely delicious.
The dish is similar to what I love to get at IHOP--but better! Unfortunately for the rest of them, I was the only one who got any crepes. It was J's first time making them and I guess they took a little trial and error to get the hang of. But, he'd cut the recipe in half and it takes an hour to sit so everyone else was S.O.L. They had Eggos with the strawberry topping and I wolfed down my 2.5 delish crepes. Yum yum!
We hung out the rest of the day and Auntie Jess got to do some bonding with the boys:
Then it was time to drive down to my grandparents house for dinner. Since it was Mother's Day, I was wearing a new shirt, and took the time to straighten my hair I wanted to try to get some nice pictures of me with my sons. But, my 2 year old pride and joy had some other ideas:
I guess I'll settle for this one where we're all at least looking at the camera with normal expressions, even if they're not smiling:
And, me with just one boy. Jason was noticing how similar our eye color is here:
Who knows if D's eyes will stay that way? Easton's took a very long time to change. Snuggly tickles at bedtime with E:
Posing with my sister and our straightened hair:
Dizz staying up past his bedtime and looking pudgy (and hungry):
See the shorts? Those are Easton's that he still wears. You know...the ones he was wearing when Jason was on the roof. Those ones. My boys can share clothes already when the length doesn't matter so much. A 28 month and a 2 month old. Sharing. Sad.
Anyway, it was nice keeping D up till closer to my bedtime because when he first woke in the night it was after 5 a.m. Doesn't feel quite so harsh then. And despite going to bed late Easton actually slept in the next day till after 8! Woo hoo! Since it was Monday Jason was back at work and Jessica and I hung around the house with the boys. Easton talked her into spending a lot of time with him at noggin.com. Doesn't she look like she's enjoying every minute of it?
She said she didn't mind. I was a super lazy mom and only attended to one kid at a time since she was here. Nice.
When the boys napped Jessica straightened my hair for me. She had some fancy product that was going to make it sleeker and shinier. See:
I put on our "Sunshine Day" mp3 by the Brady kids and swung my hair around like Marcia Marcia Marcia. Good times. It was the most. :)
In the afternoon we took her back to the airport and now she is gone.
Today Easton slept in till after 7 at least. Apparently he fell out of bed last night and I had absolutely no idea. Jason was up reading for school and heard the thump and cry and rushed in to tend to him. I was none the wiser till this morning when he asked if I knew about it. I know J handled it fine and all but I feel horrible for not even knowing about it. I always hear my kids. Oops. Good thing Jason was up because if he was asleep we can pretty much guarantee he wouldn't have heard a thing. :)
Normally on Tuesdays we'd have Gymsters but we're done with Gymsters and are moving up to "Tiny Tots". Don't those names seem backwards to you? Anyway, we'll be doing the Tots class on Wednesdays now. J thinks I should still call it Gymsters. I think I agree. Maybe just "Gym". Anyway...
We have no plans today. I don't even know what's for dinner tonight. Better get on that...
