I Jumped Into Friday...

...and I had myself a shy day. Not me. Those are just Laurie Berkner lyrics and we've heard that song 3 times already today. The Laurie Berkner Band does children's songs. Easton likes her from always seeing her on "Jack's Big Music Show". She bugs me and I think her songs (and her voice) are kinda whack but whatever. We got a CD and a DVD from the 'brary yesterday. Easton is liking it. And we can't get the kid to sing a whole song but if you pause when singing he'll sing the last word or two for you. That's about it. We've been singing like that all morning.

And we're having a good day despite not giving him his milk right away. Last night I warned him that we were going to do iron and juice instead. So I reminded him when I went to get him from bed this morning and we went downstairs, did the iron, picked out a juice cup and filled it up with his choice of juice. He didn't drink much of the juice but at least he didn't have milk till about an hour later. Perhaps it'll go better than I think. He adapts better than we expect sometimes, especially if we talk about it beforehand. Remember how miraculously easy he transitioned to his big boy bed and room? I was shocked by all that. Still am.

Well I don't have much to say for today, I guess. Jason might have to work tomorrow and he's choosing to work on Monday the holiday for the promise of extra time off next month. So, I don't know what the boys and I will do. We'll find something. And no plans for Sunday--J's one "for sure" day off--so we'll see.

But, here are some pictures...Easton and I did Play-Doh for an hour and a half yesterday. We only stopped because Dalton woke up.

He surprised me by being able to make a face with the dough. I made a flat circle and he pinched off little bits and added eyes, nose, mouth, ears, hair, hands (right under the ears a la Mr. Potato Head), and toes (protruding from the chin...again, like Tato Head). He certainly can't draw a face yet but I was glad to see he could do it with Play-Doh. Oh...and while we're on the subject of "Tato Head"...Jason thought I should post this video from the other day:

Playing after breakfast. Dalton is in the Mr. Potato Head tote...doesn't seem to mind, does he?

And showing us how he can indeed lift his head to 90 degrees while lying on tummy:

He can hold it that way for longer than I gave him credit for the other day.

Alrighty, I didn't get to do much other than start my new book yesterday so I'm off to give it another go and hope my nappers cooperate. Have a nice holiday weekend!

E saying "butt" was hilarious!! The things our kiddos say. I don't put anything past them.

And I loved that pic of D in the potato tote. He is always such a smiling boy in your pics.

Hope you are enjoying your book!!

Tato butt...hahahaha!!

And Dalton looks like he's had a little too much to drink when he's sitting in the Tato tote. *lol*

We really like Laurie Berkner. She had to grow on me, but now she's a hit around here. And the kids get SO excited when one of our favorite songs from the CD plays on Jack's Big Music Show.

I hope you guys have a good weekend despite all the working! Josh was going to be out of town, but his plans were canceled. Poor guy. Of course, I am secretly thrilled. Okay, not so secretly thrilled. *lol*
